CN Ratings Thread

I'm pretty sure Doomsday did better with the 12-17 and 18-34 demos that CN isn't interested in instead of the 6-11/9-14 demo. I wasn't expecting a ratings smash out of Doomsday but I was expecting it to do better than it did. Then again, CN didn't start promoting it until the week it was going to air.

It does disturb me that apparently 2-5 year olds were watching Doomsday in droves.

Those ratings are for the whole day, not just Superman. Chances are that most of the younger kids watched DAS and CN's afternoon programming.

I doubt its Total Drama Island; its most likely CN's new moneybringer Chowder. Kids are craving Chowder as much as they crave candy.

Are you sure - i have a feeling TDI is doing FAR better than you may think. ;)

If things haven't changed much, I can safely say that TDI is most likely doing better than Chowder and Flapjack.

It's kinda funny how a random acquisition that was promoted a week before it's airing date is doing better than shows like Chowder and Flapjack, which were promoted months in advance. Personally I like both originals better than TDI, but I wonder how CN execs are taking an acquisition overpowering its originals.

They just go with the flow, naturally, and continue to promote it. After all, it shouldn't be a surprise that acquisitions can get high ratings. Just look at DBZ, Naruto or Pokémon. Those shows probably did/do better than most of Cartoon Network's current originals.

So, yeah CN was down last week. We won't get the other charts for this week, due to the Cynopsis people taking a week-long vacation.

Wow, so they took Naruto off of weekdays and the ratings went down. Coincidence?

Eh, I am guilty of not watching CN when Naruto isn't on Weekdays honestly. I usually watch something else.

I don't understand Cartoon network works ratings Why do they think that Shows like Total Drama Island and kids next door, and other shows like one's that i have just named why does CN think that those shows will do so well in the ratings charts it might be great for the 2 to 10 age group but what about the Teens and the Adult age group, they want action shows like toonami and other action anime..

When will the comedy and the Cartoon network only shows Stop bring down the rattings and what about saturday's night ratings as well?

CN doesn't target teens or adults. Adult Swim targets adults. CN targets kids, that's where they get their money from.

Also, Total Drama Island brings in good ratings for CN.

Furthermore, TDI appeals a lot to their older demographic.

Yeah, Total Drama Island actually is meant for older kids. And KND barely airs anymore. Cartoon Network, though I hate to say it, is a kids network. Their demographic is the 2-12 (or something like that) demo. Back in the day CN did appeal to a wider demo, but those days are sadly done.

where to get detailed ratings

Hey guys ,
just wondering how to get hold of the detailed ratings per show .I believe DDubbs posts them from time to time .I'm particulary interested in the Saturday morning ratings , looking for the numbers to compare shows on the CN block , also rating them against the other cables .
Thanks

Cynopsis was on vacation for awhile, so we probably won't get the next Saturday morning ratings until Friday.

Well, the good news here is that out of the three big kids networks, CN declined the least. Even Adult Swim's decrease wasn't as bad in previous months. Nicktoons is the only one that did well.

Looks like Chowder is holding up well in reruns. Same goes for Ben 10: Alien Force.

Well, I guess anime fans are screwed then. If even Naruto can't get ratings, then it looks like Cartoon Network will give up on anime altogether.
