    I think I might have potentially figured out the single biggest reason why Cartoon Network kinda feels like it's faltering in some weird way in the U.S. compared to internationally, and why the HBO Max Cartoon Network library feels so much more underwhelming in the U.S. than elsewhere:
    Warner Bros. Discovery simply does not have a dedicated kids & family division in the United States. Period.

    Looks like CN India's YouTube channel is running screenshots of episodes (mostly from The Amazing / Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball) through some sort of pervasive AI filter and then turning those AI-filtered screenshots into video thumbnails for several of its lengthy compilations.

    Furthermore, CN UK's YouTube channel seems to have used generative AI for the thumbnail to its one-minute recap video chronicling pretty much all the important lore events of Regular Show just in time for The Lost Tapes' May 11th release. That exact same recap video was also uploaded to the CN Turkey YT channel (in Turkish) and the CN MENA/Arabic YT channel (in Arabic), but without the AI thumbnail.

    discovery+ has already closed down in Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain and Brazil in favor of focusing further on HBO Max. WBD has also shut down its own version of discovery+ in Canada in favor of a third-party version there operated by Rogers Sports & Media.

    Assuming WBD has permanently canceled its plans to split into Warner Bros. and Discovery Global and won't be going forward with them (even if the PSKY merger fails), is it safe to assume that discovery+ might be living on borrowed time in the United Kingdom (where TNT Sports has fully moved to the HBO Max platform), the Republic of Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Austria and Italy?

    Personally, I think D+ might survive, at least in Italy and UK, as it also serves as the hub for the streaming of the FTA channels.

    What's stopping WBD from making all its free-to-air channels in the UK and Italy markets (and maybe even its pay-TV channels too) available on HBO Max? If they wanted to do that then they totally could. I mean, they fully moved TNT Sports from discovery+ to HBO Max in the UK after all.

    Does Karin Lindström and/or Christina Sulebakk (the main figures in charge of WBD's operations in Nordic countries) have any control over the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian announcer tracks for Cartoon Network and Cartoonito, or any control over the localization and dubbing of Cartoon Network and Cartoonito's programming into Danish, Swedish and Norwegian for linear TV and HBO Max (and into Finnish for HBO Max only)?

    I guess Vanessa Brookman is the main boss in charge of overseeing the kids & family library on HBO Max outside of the United States and its territories, in addition to overseeing WBD's global kids & family linear TV channels.

    She reports to JB Perrette, the international boss of HBO Max, as well as to Gerhard Zeiler, the international boss of WBD's international operations.

    This is a (maybe outdated) list of subsidiaries of Warner Bros. Discovery. Which one of these is the one that oversees the Cartoon Network and Cartoonito programming lineup in continental Europe, and which one is it that coordinates the HBO Max kids & family lineup in Europe?

    Vanessa Brookman is the main person responsible, the division would be Turner Broadcasting System Europe. Brookman reports to both Zeiler and Perrette.

    The works of pre-1991 Ruby-Spears Enterprises (which are what you are probably thinking of, Vuxovich) are—with a few exceptions—all owned by WBD. They're all part of Hanna-Barbera Productions, Inc., which currently exists as the main holdings firm for all Hanna-Barbera copyrights and trademarks, including Scooby-Doo, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Yogi Bear and much more.

    HBO Max's European rollout is nearly complete, with only the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (both planned for launch in late March 2026) left. How do you feel about that?

    They have it last due to contracts with Sky, but I don't expect there to be much difference to what is NOW already offering.

    That's right, titles entirely new to the British Isles, as well as titles which haven't been available in UK/ROI for quite some time.

    What duties will Warner Bros. Discovery's kids & family division in EMEA have post-split, assuming all linear TV channels become part of Discovery Global but the key programming remains with Warner Bros. (including a Netflix-owned Warner Bros.)?

    A Transition Service Agreement (TSA), Content Licensing Agreement (CLA) and a Trademark License Agreement (TLA) will have to be formally agreed, we will find this out in the Discovery Global SEC Filing next year.

    Essentially, Discovery Global is a U.S. version of Corus.

    That said, both Warner Bros. and Discovery Global are expected to have a shared upfront presentation in May 2026.

    my guess is that Cartoon Network after split will get Canadian & European and maybe some animes targeted to kids (maybe Doraemon finally gets a second chance in the American markets) with Warner bros still producing shows for Cartoon Network

    Williams Street is part of the WB studios, I think there is some confusion as Michael Ouweleen oversees both Williams Street and the Networks side of CN/AS. It's likely that he also oversees WS as he's a senior exec that's based in Atlanta, where as the other studios are LA based.

    What countries on Earth besides the United States ever had that one McDonald's Szechuan McNuggets dipping sauce made as a promotional tie-in for Walt Disney Animation Studios' 1998 film Mulan? You know, the one made infamous by Rick and Morty S3E01 ("The Rickshank Redemption")? And no, I'm not counting releases of the dipping sauce post-dating 2017.

    I know that McDonalds did an international stunt for Mulan Happy Meals, and the Oriental McRib, but don't think there was anything about Szechuan Sauce as a side condiment.

    I also read that the Szechuan sauce was finally released in mainland China in 2022, but that the locals there didn't like it all that much.

    I guess they didn't bother mentioning the individual shows as there probably would be too many and it wasn't important as CN isn't ad supported after midnight.

    As for Disney, there used to be a preview loop from midnight, dating back to the days when it was a premium channel, but it became more of a logo loop animation.

    I do actually recall CN Too having a slightly different Cartoon Cartoons lineup which consisted of Chowder, Billy and Mandy and Ben 10. I think the issue with the Cartoon Cartoons was that it was bound to of changed with the times. It was the only way to watch Cow and Chicken over here until it got a limited timeslot of 9/10PM.

    Do the UK feeds of Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Cartoonito have unique commercials for viewers in the Republic of Ireland and Malta (since those two countries use the UK feeds)? Also, does Make, Shake and Jake air on CN UK, Boomerang UK and Cartoonito in ROI/Malta, or is it only available in the UK?

    So viewers in the Republic of Ireland and Malta do really get the exact same ad breaks when watching CN UK, Boomerang UK and Cartoonito UK as ones in the UK? Are any of the ads on the UK feeds even targeted to ROI or Malta viewers at all, as opposed to UK viewers?

    The UK feeds do have separate licenses for the Republic of Ireland registered in the Czech Republic, by the way.

    There are adverts priced in both GBP/EUR. Quite a lot of UK/Ireland retailers (for example Tesco and Smyths) and products are crossborder. There's is no Irish advertising subfeed like what Nick Jr and Nicktoons has.
