The FUNimation Channel Thread

I've been watching YuYu Hakusho on the FUNimation Channel. I like the dub, although I find it weird that Botan was given a slightly British accent. It's like Bakura from 4Kids' Yu-Gi-Oh! dub.

W-w-what am I reading? Yu Yu Hakusho and Baka & Test on TV, in HD? Summer Wars? The Eden of the East movies?

I will kill to get this channel on Time Warner Cable, FUNimation! You hear me? KILL!

News for those wanting the FUNimation Channel in Canada.

FUNimation, on their Facebook account, is stating that the FUNimation Channel is about to meet with Rogers Communications in Canada.

Hopefully Rogers will help get the FUNimation Channel to be available in Canada.

Considering that no other station in Canada even wants to touch anime right now, this would be a very positive development. It is entirely possible for the station to be carried over 100% as-is onto Canadian television since there's virtually no competition for that type of programming. If the CRTC was willing to let AMC in, there's no reason they wouldn't give the FUNimation Channel the go-ahead. The big question is whether or not there is enough for demand for the cable and satellite companies to push for it.

According to its online schedule, Chrome Shelled Regios will debut September 19th on 9:30 pm on the FUNimation Channel.(TV-MA)

Debuting on Friday are Eden of the East: The King of Eden at 7:30 pm and Sekirei with back-to-back episodes at 1 am (both are rated TV-MA).

From the FUNimation Chaanel's website:

Ga-Rei-Zero starts next Monday at 10pm EST.
Dragonaut will debut on the 18th {time unknown at this point}.

Darker Than Black returns with season 2 on Halloween at 9pm EST.
Witchblade
will also make its FUNimation Channel's debut on Halloween {time unknown at this point}.

According to the online schedule, Fairy Tales will debut November 22th at 8 pm with back-to-back episodes.

I just switched my cable provider to Verizon FiOS, and was surprised to see FUNimation Channel in my guide, I was aware the channel existed just didn't know who carried it.

Anyway I think the channel is pretty cool, but I do think it needs a little more life injected into it as right now it feels like its running on auto pilot. Actually now that I think of it it kind has an [adult swim] feel to it.

I've only managed to check out; Kenichi, The Sacred Blacksmith, and Sekirei. I see a few shows on their site that I've been wanting to check out and I hope they end up back in rotation at some point.

Its kinda weird how they advertise Witchblade, and Yu Yu Hakusho as NEW. I own Witchblade on DVD and watched it on IFC, and well Yu Yu was on Cartoon Network years ago. I guess its the first time they're showing them on their network then.

I'm kinda disappointed that One Piece isn't on here though, anyone know why? Its not like another network has the rights to it anymore.

I can see why DBZ Kai isn't on here since thats being aired on Nicktoons and Toonzai, but there are other series.

As odd as this sounds Funimation does not have the right to choose where One Piece airs on TV. Toei Animation kept those rights and the last anyone heard about it is that they were still trying to get it on Cartoon Network. Fans have asked and that's all Funimation will say on the matter.

That's mostly what I've heard but at least once at some point I heard FUNimation takes part in the process of determining a TV home for One Piece.

You know it's funny not too long ago they had "One Piece" on their On Demand, but now if you go to the channel's website there are no signs of the show. Guess the rights expired.

The FUNimation Channel will be airing a 2 episode preview of 'Chaos;HEAd' tomorrow at 8 pm. The rest of the series will in sometime in 2012 along with Fairy Tail.

You'd think that they'd air premieres a little earlier in prime time since they have the whole channel to work with but I suppose they're trying to make premieres watchable to viewers in other time zones and 10PM is about as early as you can air it EST time while keeping the show in the 7PM-11PM time frame on all time zones.

Still seems kind of strange for them to air premieres of Fairy Tail at 10PM when it's really quite tame.

According to its online schedule, 'Trigun: Badlands Rumble' will make its North America broadcast debut this Friday (January 13th) at 8:30 pm EST on the FUNimation Channel.

The FUNimation Channel began airing 'B Gata H Kei: Yamada's First Time' last night with back-to-back episodes at 1 am but repeats will airing during the weekend (for those who missed it). New episodes will be airing at 1:30 am on Fridays, with the previous airing before.

Also, two weeks ago I asked the FUNimation Channel about them airing DBZ and a reply of "There are plans. Stay tuned!"

I wonder which masters they'd air if they did air Dragon Ball Z. There's quite a few for them to pick from.

They seem to only air HD shows now. Do they have an HD master for the entire series?

Then that might be your answer.

If they do air DBZ I will be shocked if they manage to air every episode.

Can anyone tell me if they aired all of Yu Yu Hakusho?

They sure didn't air all of Dragon Ball when it was airing.

Glad I got you to watch Stranger Things.

If I may recommend more media for you to check out, here's a starter:

You've mentioned that haven't read the original TMNT comics from Mirage Studios. Well, this video by YouTuber "Soundout12" gives a decent roadmap for where to start:

dmxx116 really likes to wish for people not to return back to so and so because their films didn't do so well. I don't agree with everything he says, though I agree on that Jared Leto shouldn't play Skeletor.
I'm sorry but I disagree with what GRPHX said about the past five films with Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as the choice of Denis Villeneuve as director and Steven Knight as writer in the next film because I really doubt Villeneuve's take will be like the Craig films at all and besides, all of the stuff he mentioned happened before the Craig films such as Licence to Kill.

Hi, welcome to Toonzone

There's something about seeing kids cry after they mess up big time that really gets to me. One can definitely feel bad for Layla.
