"Scooby-Doo - Mystery, Inc." News & Discussion Thread

Is there any way to confirm which episodes are airing in Canada? I checked Teletoon's schedule, and it is airing 5 days a week, but it doesn't say which episodes are airing.

Wikipedia's apparently in on this as well with the new episodes, up to 18. I'm going to be seriously ticked off if it's proven to be true. I'm getting tired of CN's mess concerning SD:MI. They should be ashamed of themselves for playing with us like this.

I agree with that completely, but last time I checked they only had fourteen eps listed at wiki. I don't know if I was looking in the wrong place or if somebody deleted that info.

I did not see it either.

Those episode descriptions were on there eariier, but Wiki must've pulled them.

here is the wiki page edit history

Well, those eps sound good. I can't help but wonder how Velma will react to Shaggy's new love interest. If we just had some airdates to when we'll see them in the U.S., we might be getting somewhere.

I was looking over this topic and I noticed all these rumors going around about 15 & 16 airing in Canada. Luckily, I have a friend of mine who lives in Canada and I talk to him everyday on a website. I asked him if 15 & 16 of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated aired in Canada and he said no. He said they have only aired 1-13, just like the US. This friend of mine is very honest, so I can believe him for sure.

However, if something else does come up, I'll be sure to ask him. ;)

P.S. I am new here.

Welcome!:)

Hmmm....these episodes sound more likely to occur but I am still weary.

I have not found any evidence that these descriptions are true. Too bad, the Mystery Manor one sound interesting.

The Wild Brood

When Fred invites the gang on his and Daphne's second date, it pushes Daphane into the arms of Argnorg the leader of an Org Biker group called the Wild Brood who have come into town. When a break in at the armory happens and a dangerous weapon is stolen the Wild Brood are the top suspects. It's up to the gang to solve this mystery and save the Wild Brood.

This ep seems a spoof on "The Wild One" (famous biker film with Marlon Brando). At least a second date with Fred & Daphne is acknowledged but it seems odd to bring in the rest of the gang along (then again, this Fred just might do that!). Argnorg seems like an odd name for a biker. Seems more suited to an alien or video game character.

Where Walks Aphrodite

When the entire town of Crystal Cove is taken over by Aphrodite's love spell, only Scooby-Doo and the recently escaped Professor Pericles can save the gang from the spell and solve the mystery. But does Professor Pericles have ulterior motives?
- -Note: This episodes parallels the book and films based on Jack Finney's Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

If accurate expect a lot of paranoia!

Could this be about.... LOVE ZOMBIES??????? Maybe those earlier spoilers had some merit!!

Escape From Mystery Manor

When the gang goes on a quest to find out what happened to the original Mystery Incorporated group on their last case of the 75 year old disappearance of the Darrow Family and their Manson. It leaves the Scooby gang trapped in the underground Darrow Manson which has been booby trapped, will the gang solve the mystery and escape with their lives!
- -Note: An episode-long homage to the Saw film series, its the darkest episode so far in the new series.

This one sounds intriguing but "Saw" is not something I'd expect to be in an SD toon in any form. The Darrow Family and their mysterious disappearance have been mentioned before and the gang did get a chest full of Darrow items from Mr. E's archive raid so there may be a connection.

The Dragon's Secret

When Mi-Lee an exchange student comes to Crystal Cove, she draws the affection of Shaggy Rogers. At a dinner party hosted by the Blake Family, is interrupted by the Red Wizard warning to stay away from the Dragons Heart which he has sworn to protect at all cost. Only for Mi-Lee and the gang to come under attack by a White Wizard who is after Mi-Lee ring, the Red Wizard comes to the gangs rescue but to late to save the ring. The Red Wizard turns out to be Mr.Chen the owner of Chen's internet cafe and tea house. He reveals that with the White Wizard now in possession of all four rings is able to open the Jade Dragons Heart which is a priceless Ruby. Will the gang solve the mystery or is everything not as it seems?

I have thought it was inevitable an ep would come along in which another guy or girl would attract the affections of either Shaggy or Velma and we'd see the effects of it. If true, Velma would truly be crushed to see Shaggy with someone else; but does that mean Scooby's jealousy would flare up again? This almost sounds legit - especially, "Chen's Internet Cafe & Tea House". If it turns out Crystal Cove has its own Chinatown I'll fall over laughing!

ETA: At SDMI Wiki, the Edit Fairy added an episode called "Which Witch is Which" and the airdate as April 2nd 2011. Now I know that's got to be a fake! "Which..." was the title of one ep from the original SDWAY series; not to mention April 2nd is a Saturday, and that would mean SDMI would no longer run first run eps during the week.

I think that the wikpedia thing a fake too.

Lulz, if the love zombie one does come true I'm going to laugh.:D

Well, now we can get back to some speculation. :-)

We have been given hints from the very first episode that the Darrow family and their history would probably play a large role in the "Mystery of Crystal Cove", and the subsequent disappearance of the Original Mystery Inc. At the very start of the episode 1, as Velma (in a very bored voice) is recounting the history of Crystal Cove, she mentions the following:

The curse of "Conquistador Cove" and the following events,
1) 1630 - Garrison of Spanish Conquistadors Disappear
2) 1765 - Town of Missionaries Disappear
3) (c. 1865?) Cletus Darrow found gold and renamed the town "Crystal Cove".
4) (Date unspecified) One Halloween the entire Darrow family disappeared.

As Scooby said in "Monsters Unleashed", "Ri've found a clewww!"

Two things immediately jump out from Velma's opening list of past events. First, there are a lot of disappearances. (And we later learn that the Originals have also disappeared "exploring the caverns beneath Crystal Cove" in Ep. 4.) And second, someone discovered gold. (We all know that money is a prime motivator in Scooby-Doo mysteries.)

(On a related, but probably insignificant note, "In the 1800s, prospectors were searching for gold when they found gators in Gatorsburg." Ep. 2 So we have had gold mentioned twice.)

The Darrows have been mentioned several times since Ep. 1. In Ep. 11 we learn that a Darrow University has an "Oddities Museum" which is displaying the gem needed by the mysterious vampire.

In Ep 12, the Gang visits Darrow University, learn that the Darrow family archives have been stolen, and end up in possession of the information after Mr. E leaves the stolen goods in the Mystery Machine. (Yikes!) The Darrows are then tied to the Originals by the comment from Mr. E of "if the first Mystery Inc. had what's in this trunk, perhaps they wouldn't have disappeared in the first place".

Now if the coming episode synopsis is to be believed, we will learn that the Originals were investigating the Darrow disappearance.

So, what can we make from all of this? The connection of the Darrow family and the Originals is no surprise. And I think it is a good guess that the gold (which one can infer is the factor that provided the Darrow family its prominent place in society) will be at the root of both the Darrow family, and the Original's, disappearance.

(As a side note, we know very few hard facts on the Originals disappearance, but we have learned, or can guess, a great deal from events that occurred because of, or in reaction to, that disappearance. But that is a topic for a different post.)

When I caught the first marathon of SDMI, I noticed this as well; not to mention in the Alice May episode, several more [boys] disappeared but they were attributed to the ghost of Alice. Personally I think they could be lumped together with the other missing people.

Of course the question is where could so many people go without a trace? Were they all looking for treasure in the caves??

(On a related, but probably insignificant note, "In the 1800s, prospectors were searching for gold when they found gators in Gatorsburg." Ep. 2 So we have had gold mentioned twice.)

One can assume the Darrows roped off enough property to call it their claim, so few would be able to mine there so they moved to the area eventually known as Gatorsburg.

The next bit of speculation depends on how this show will explain the "gator boom". Velma told the tale that the gators were mined like gold and came up in wells like oil - rather silly from what we know about where gators come from! Will the show still insist this happened, or perhaps (assuming a supernatural element comes into play) it will turn out that the only way it could happen was with a proverbial "deal with the Devil" scenerio? For example, someone in Gatorsburg made a pact with darkness and darkness made it "rain aligator". The town prospers for at least a hundred years on a gator based economy. Then suddenly the gators disappear and Gatorsburg turns into a ghost town (save for the three members of the Gator family of course). What if someone chose to break that pact and therefore the gators stopped "flowing"? Of course, Crystal Cove has been dependent on a supernatural based economy for several decades and the majority of adults (especially the Mayor and The Dinkleys) want to keep the status quo. Did someone make a similar bargain to make Crystal Cove such a prosporus haven Once Gatorsburg fell into ruin? Could it be that all the missing people over the years were sacrifices to keep the good times rolling in both Gatorsburg and Crystal Cove???

Now if the coming episode synopsis is to be believed, we will learn that the Originals were investigating the Darrow disappearance.

I am inclined to believe this as well.

The Darrows are then tied to the Originals by the comment from Mr. E of "if the first Mystery Inc. had what's in this trunk, perhaps they wouldn't have disappeared in the first place".

That brings us to wonder what could have been in the trunk that could have prevented the Originals from disappearing? I supposed that depends on how and where they disappeared.

Now some speculation on a couple of nitpicks I caught from the episode, "The Secret Serum":

Daphne's mother, Nan mentions how she was studying to be a notary - at night! In the Gatorsburg ep, she declined to come pick up the kids because she claimed to be afraid of the dark. Continuity error, or clue?

Nan and her friend Sheila managed to beat the gang to the French restaurant. How? The gang left well before they did and even the gang themselves wondered how she beat them there.

Was Sheriff Stone really at the Blake house questioning Nan Blake as a suspect... or was a different conversation going on between them that night?

Yes! Speculation time.:)

Hmm, maybe the Originals were investigating the Darrow disappearance. They might have found what caused their disappearances and that lead to themselves disappearing as well for the same reason. The chest of info from Mr.E would have helped the Originals cause it might have some details on what caused the disappearances which would have helped them to not fall to the same fate.

I also suspect something very supernatural is going down here, and since gold has been mentioned quite a bit I believe that the Curse of Crystal Cove involves a cursed treasure. Its quite common for treasures to have curses on them (like tomb treasure in Egypt, or for a fictional example like the Aztec treasure from the Pirates of the Caribbean series). Conquistadors came to America often to look for gold, maybe thats where the gold came from, the Conquistadors brought it with them (or it was already there but I dunno where Crystal Cove is so I'm not sure if it could be. There is a Crystal Cove in California though). The Missionaries might have found it by accident and disappeared and the Darrow family rediscovered it.

Another mystery is the details of the curse, it makes people disappear but to where? Does it kill them? Take their souls? Send them to Narnia?
My guess is that there is something supernatural living in the treasure, like a demon or an evil god in a statue. That way it can make the invaders of its treasure disappear or whatever. At least this is a possibility.

And this will all be kid friendly of course.:p I love this series.

Long post is long.:D

I've been thinking about that because the reason Shagg broke up with Velma was because he's not ready to have 'a girlfriend,' at least that's what he told her, so for him to be attracted to another girl really would tick her off. But in my opinion, I think Shaggy was just saying that to spare Velma's feelings. I mean, she was bossing him around and forcing him to chose between her and his friendship with Scooby. I think Shaggy might be more interested in a girl who accepts him for who he is. I can't wait to see this one if they will ever air it. *sigh*

APRIL FOOL! Sounds like someone is starting a bit early with the pranks.

The Cartoon Network 2011 Upfront Coverage says Scooby-Doo!: Mystery Incorporated returns with new episodes Tuesday, May 3d, 7:30 PM ET/PT.

Make of that info what you will.

Well about time! But...in May? Really?

Its about freaking time CN!!!! They still owe us on not giving Sym-Bionic Titan a new season.

Well this and The Avengers i just can't wait when May comes.

Well, that's great news. But again, just a reminder that the network has scammed us before, (remember episode 14 was supposed to air the week after episode 13. Also we were expecting the eps to air at the end of January, but they kept putting it off.) I'm not trying to be a downer here, but I'm strongly hoping they will air new eps when they say they will this time. I'm just trying not to get my hopes up to high without knowing anything for sure.

Think about it. May 3rd is the same day The Looney Tunes Show premieres on, so it makes complete sense.

That episode 15 The Wild Brood may or may not be an actual episode, a voice actor had been confirmed for it.

Info on Ben's Scooby Doo episode

The Ben McKenzie Support Group

A friend of mine sent an email to the Cartoon Network and asked about Ben's Scooby Doo episode. She got this response today:

Thank you so much for your interest in Scooby-Doo! Mystery Inc. Mr. McKenzie will be in an episode entitled “The Wild Brood,” playing a character named Odnarb. This episode is later in the season and an airdate has yet to be determined, but please keep checking your listings!

The post is from 2010 and this may not be true but I found it interesting that the episode title had popped up again.
