FUNimation Licensing Blitz Coming

It's about time FUNi finally announced Soul Eater. However, looks like we won't get the 1st DVD release till Novemeber, according to that date listed with the trailer.

And I too hope Utena gets rescue-licensed, by the way they're releasing remastered DVD's in Japan

Oh, Utena would've been awesome.

So, how good is Soul Eater, exactly?

From that trailer, it looks beautifully animated but the story doesn't sound interesting or original at all. Is there some sort of clever twist in the presentation which makes this something other than InuYasha-meets-Naruto-meets-Bleach-meets-insertoverexposedactionshonenhere?

Eh, I want to get into it but between other titles & the hype, I'm not sure if I want to.

Provided of course they go and redub the anime first and foremost. Gah, the English dub of that series is terrible.

Oh and... hooray for Soul Eater. I haven't gone completely head over heels for it like a lot of other people, but I do enjoy it.

If he doesn't wanna see Soul Eater, that's his decision. I mean there have been some anime that I didn't care about and then I started to like them i.e. Ouran High School Host Club, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (I'm still a bit 'meh' about it), Welcome to the N.H.K., Potemayo, and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Sorta offtopic, but I've been thinking. Could FUNi potentially even get Soul Reaper to air on TV? It seems like their perfect new show that has that chance. Maybe Sci Fi or maybe even CN/AS would be interested in airing it?

Nah, I rather let it be on DVD only and online streaming service.

CN hasn't been good with Funi after they lost One Piece. Sci-Fi is pretty much releasing stuff from Manga Entertainment and Bandai Entertainment so I don't think they would give in to Funi. If they do, Soul Eater better be at an hour when I can stay awake for.

If anything, CN should try, IF they want to try again since the death of Toonami, to make another action block to release the show at an earlier time.

I dunno, I like Crispin Freeman as Touga, and Rachel Lillis as Utena, but overall yeah, I really didn't like the dub, either

Speaking of which Kaiser does a kickass job, as Touga in Whip0fAlchemy's Utena Abridged!!

Well maybe Soul Eater might end up on the Funimation Channel. That way it would be safe from those conglomerates who rather care of beating Nick than getting good shows that could rake in tons of ratings.

Yeah, I can pretty much see that happening, it could also wind up on Comcast's Anime Selects on DEMAND, who recently started showing more FUNimation titles due to a deal with the FUNimation channel

If CN cared about beating Nick, then they would be "getting good shows that could rake in tons of ratings". If an anime performed as well as Family Guy, AS would be airing it twice a day, no doubt.

Anyways, internet response =/= actual viewers. AS learned that the hard way when they picked up Code Geass.

Honestly I have to agree with that not to mention they always picked up shounen fighting anime instead of picking up a variety of anime.

I think I might start my own anime station

Soul Eater YAY!!!!....so in all actuallity funimation got 11 animes instead of to...& Its a pretty decent line up two...Of course who knows...Mabye they'll announce even more BONUS new years a go go titles before the days over...This is great Funimation Really knows how to kick off a new year!

(I wonder if they'll do somthing like this again,,,mabye for Summer..but I digrese...I wonder if Funi will Save Disgaea from Genon eventually as well...I was lucky enough To get V 2 & 3 for christmas but can't find V1 anywhere...& id much rather have a boxed set with all 12 eps.)

Probably, and as for Disgaea, I'll probably import the Australian R4 DVD boxset from Madman Entertainment , it'll save me the trouble of hunting down the R1 DVD's, I also might do that Steel Angel Kurumi, that's the only way I can think of acquiring it legally
