"Anime Film “Cosmic Princess Kaguya” Coming to Netflix January 22"

"On January 22, Netflix will release a new anime film entitled Cosmic Princess Kaguya. Very little about the plot of this film has been revealed, but we get a trailer vaguely revealing what this film will be like.

One of the rare tidbits about the plot we have been given is that the film will be inspired by the millennium old Japanese literary work The Legend of the Bamboo Cutter. Anime fans are probably most familiar with Kaguya from this story being the inspiration for an extremely controversial villain from Naruto Shippuden, but this doesn’t seem to be the same take on Kaguya. We also know that the film will showcase Vocaloid songs. The final bit of plot information revealed is that it will be set in the virtual realm Tsukuyomi (which hopefully won’t be like the Infinite Tsukuyomi from Shippuden and lead to loads of filler episodes). From the trailers, this looks like the film will be a “cute girls form a band” anime, a popular genre. Only this time it seems like the cute girls will be forming a band in outer space, or at least a virtual reality simulation of outer space.

Here’s the trailer:"

"Review: “Cosmic Princess Kaguya!”: Pretty Princess Drags Her Feet"

"It’s a classic formula – a young woman who works too hard has her life disrupted when, out of nowhere, she has to take on the responsibility of a baby, and learns that some things matter more than work. A striking difference here – the young woman is in high school, and the baby is an alien from the moon. Such is the setup for Cosmic Princess Kaguya!, a new anime film that dropped on Netflix without much fanfare but has slowly been climbing its way up the rankings on various anime-listing sites, either due to the appeal of VTubers or the wide appeal of what some might deem as “yuribait.” But does this shiny princess story live up to the hype?

Iroha is a hardworking high school student who stretches herself thin between being an honor student, working hard to attend the college that will appease her mom, and having a part-time job just to support herself – things weren’t exactly going well at home before she left. In the little bit of downtime that she has, she watches various VTubers and idols, as well as playing in a virtual reality game known as Tsukuyomi. Her busy life is thrown for a loop when, out of nowhere, a magical light coming out of a post basically hand-delivers her a baby. Her initial hesitation about how on earth she can take care of a child becomes something deeper when she realizes just how quickly this baby is growing…and before she knows it, she’s living with a girl around her own age, who happily exclaims about how she came from the moon, drains her finances, and dreams of becoming a VTuber. But could this loud financial disruption be what Iroha needed to put forth the effort to do things for herself all along?"

Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
