From the front page of AnimeSuperhero.com:
"“Virgin Punk: Clockwork Girl”, the long awaited project of Yasuomi Umetsu (the director of Kite and Wizard Barristers), premiered in Japan theaters back in June. The film, which marks Umetsu’s first work as director in a decade, is unique in that it’s an original project of his own creation (not an adaptation of an manga or novel). Now, distributors Aniplex of America and Fathom Entertainment are bringing the short film to U.S. theaters, in both subtitled and dubbed version, with a limited release set for November 11th and 13th.
Here’s the trailer:
The art style obviously evokes the bright visuals of Umetsu’s earlier 90’s/2000’s films (like “Kite” and Mezzo Forte”). The theatrical presentation also will include an exclusive “behind the scenes footage” and interviews with the creative team for the film, including with director Umetsu. The creative team has teased that this is just the first project set in this universe (stating this is part of an anime series that's being developed next)."
