"It seems that Shonen Jump has been releasing lots of assassin themed series lately, including SpyXFamily and Sakamoto Days. Now we are getting yet another assassin themed series in Kill Blue. This time, the gimmick is that the thirty nine year old main character, Jūzō Ōgami, is de-aged into a middle schooler by a magical wasp sting and has to go back to school while doing action/assassin stuff.
The de-aging aspect seems reminiscent of Detective Conan. Jūzō ends up actually enjoying school and a new chance at youth. Other notable characters include Jūzō’s assassin partner Kotatsu Nekota and two girls from the Home Economics club, Chisato Shiraishi and Noren Mitsuoka. Jūzō has to fight a bevy of wacky superpowered assassins while working on his studies. These foes include a “super middle schooler.” a super golfer, a hypnotist, and a Chinese assissin.
