Especially with the level of quality that an Avatar production requires.Animation takes time so makes sense

I cant believe that despite Nickelodeon being so horrible, they still make way better animation than Amazon. Invincible has terrible animation but Korra to this day looks absolutely amazing. The best of Studio Mir's output.
This is so true but so sad. Nickelodeon might be bad now, but they are pioneers with lots of experience in the medium. I dont think Nickelodeon will still be here in 2027... But then again, the ratings have no where to go but up at this point. That's what happens when you have a company that has 35+ years of experience dealing with animation and a company where their streaming platform is not their main moneymaker(similar to Apple+).
Don't get me wrong, The Legend of Korra was a good show and Nickelodeon had a great idea to use Korra as a spin-off character after the original Avatar series ended. However the show would be anything but that as some fans praised Korra exploring the modern world, while others questioned narrative aspects and her overall character growth. While a success in the beginning, the show did hit roadblocks later on with fans saying some episodes felt rushed and lacked not only good details but the storytelling from Avatar. Fans really got upset when Nickelodeon unceremoniously pulled the show from TV and put seasons 3 and 4 exclusively online. By then the show's ratings were dropping and never recovered. This is so true but so sad. Nickelodeon might be bad now, but they are pioneers with lots of experience in the medium. I dont know why are you telling me all of this? I never said the story or writing plotting was the best, but Korra did have really great animation, which Invincible REALLY struggles with despite being a huge mainstream hit, watercooler talk that everyone loves and its animation is pathetic. I dont like Korra, I am just amazed Nick knew how to pull this off better than Amazon.Don't get me wrong, The Legend of Korra was a good show and Nickelodeon had a great idea to use Korra as a spin-off character after the original Avatar series ended. The hype is real.
this is starting to take shape
It wouldn't be Avatar without them
I wouldn't get my hopes up. When they did Korra, it was their first project and the only thing they were doing at the time, so of course they were going to put a lot into it, their more recent projects haven't had the same reception. Supposedly they got burned out with Korra season one and later seasons had fewer drawings per episode. The movie will probably be good because of the budget, but don't expect Seven Havens to be the same. The hype is real.
Even at the most hated, I saw the animation, and it never really dove into awful. Heck, even the supposedly infamous final season DIDNT look awful. I never saw any MiR show ever reach those "lows" people says Korra had, in fact other than X-Men 97 no other MiR show has reached those hights, at most I would just say that mecha in the final season looked ugly.I wouldn't get my hopes up. Yeah. All animation really needs is time and Money. When you have those two things you are good to go. Sure, you have to make sure the WRITING is good, but I hope all the success anime has had on USA has created an apetite for a sakuga 2d fest feature length movie.I think that delaying the movie is for the best. While we aren't really that close to January right now, not having any kind of teaser or more information on the movie seemed a bit odd. This way, they have more time to hype up the movie, as well as have more time for the production.
