Anime shows you would like to see redubbed?

An uncut Zatch Bell redub based on the original Japanese script would be nice. A lot of content has been edited. So yeah. Oh, yes...Mazinger Z and Captain Harlock, the original series, as well. The former had been dubbed in the past...twice. But, it was never finished. Same for Captain Harlock. Getting the old cast for those are neigh impossible. But, I wouldn't mind Captain Harlock using the Bang Zoom dub cast for the OVA.

+1 for Mazinger Z and Captain Harlock, also add to the mix the "Force Five" series (Grandizer, Danguard Ace, Starvengers aka Getter Robot, Gaiking, Spaceketeers), they only get 26 episodes dubbed in English for each series.

Not that it really deserves Grade A work, because it really doesn't, but Ai Yori Aoshi had a horrible dub if only because of Tina's ridiculous cowgirl southern voice. I know real southerners and the only other place I've heard that overenthuastic "yee-haw!" acting was on the Simpsons. Also, I don't think "Kaoru-Sama" should have been dubbed. Most dubs don't include Japanese suffixes, and in general it should stay that way.

Hm... I'd also apply the same to Love Hina, where they gave Kitsune (<3) a horrific southern belle accent just because she had something that is considered akin to it in the Japanese version (Kansai I believe).

Indeed. I think the only natural sounding usage of a Japanese suffix in an English dub comes from Azumanga Daioh where "Chiyo-chan" is retained.

I'd only want to see one if it were being dubbed in LA. Jason Librecht can play Li instead of Mona Marshall, but Kari Wahlgren > Monica Rial.

Oh, I forgot about that...I haven't seen the Tsubasa anime dubbed. But I agree, I think Kari Wahlgren would make a better Sakura than Monica Rial (though I have nothing agains the latter).

I agree with the comments for Cardcaptor Sakura re-dub. I remember watching the dub on Kids' WB and I thought that the voices were basically okay to decent, but I was just confused as to what was going on since they changed the order for most of the episodes and cut a few episodes out too. FUNimation could really do a better job with the series than that. I actually have seen a few of the episodes subbed, despite how I usually don't do that, and it made much more sense to me than what I recalled from the dub.

I'd say Fist of the North Star. I didn't watch much of Manga Entertainment's dub, but from what I've seen, it has terrible new music added, replacing the original fantastic score. Toeism much? It even lacked Ai O Tori Modose, quite possibly one of the best anime themes ever created. Personally, I'd like to see FUNi dub the show, seeing as Manga Entertainment's licence has expired, though I highly doubt this will happen since it's pretty old now.

I also agree that Shaman King should be redubbed. Shaman King isn't a great show in my honest opinion, but good none the less. Despite keeping the 4Kids voice actors and silly accents, I really thought the short lived uncut dubs by FUNi were handled well.

For the most part the voices are decent in the series, but Dilandau's voice is just far too young for the role, while his movie voice is so spot-on its scary. Which is odd, because the rest of the cast was pretty much mis-matched in the movie (thanks to the horrible character designs).

I'd like to see the Yu Yu Hakusho movies dubbed with the FUNi cast. Not only are the current movie dubs terrible, it would be nice just to have some continuity between the series and movies. That, and bring the Eizou Hakusho OVAs over >.>

I feel like the dub just wasn't taken seriously, you know? (Perhaps the voice director just doesn't give a damn...)

For example, in the sub, Zero's voice is that of a badass leader you'd follow to the ends of the earth (I would ), but in the dub.....

I think Berserk could use a better dub, maybe by Funimation. Not sure who would play Guts (maybe keep Marc Diraison, he was pretty good) but Sean Schemel would be kept as Gaston and Conrad. Chris Sabat would be perfect for Corkus, Jerry Jewell as Griffith, Carrie Savage as Casca, Aaron Dismuke as Rickert, Justin Cook as Judeau (maybe), R. Bruce Elliot as the narrator and Void (though they're probably the same person) and Laura Bailey could use her evil voice (Haski from DB, Lust, etc) for Slan.

And maybe the X movie should be dubbed by Bang Zoom like the TV version (not sure if I'd want to watch the movie again anyway, too depressing; haven't seen the whole TV series yet).

I think it's improved a lot over the last few episodes. My only complaint with it is really Nunnally's voice... which is terrible. Can we have Nunnally redubbed?

It has improved, and Nunnally's voice is definitely the worst of the dub. Personally, one other thing I'd change would be Lelouch's voice. I mean, Johnny Yong Bosch isn't terrible, but I think there are other Voice Actors that would suit the character better.

I think it's better to judge when you've seen the subbed season, because the original [lelouch] was outstanding. It's also easier to compare actors that way and really tell which voice suits which character more accurately. Bosch has grown into his Lelouch and I don't think any other actor would sound quite as good. I think it's a role that takes a few episodes to get the hang of, because once the series picks up, it's off from there.

Yeah, maybe Code Geass could improve with a better dub. I can't tell if it's the dub or the show itself, but the show is just flat-out uninteresting.

I still can't believe that Melissa Fahn isn't voicing Nunnully. She would make a perfect Nunnully in my opinion. There's a reason why Rebecca Forstadt hadn't gotten work for years before Code Geass and her Nunnully "performance" is proving it on a weekly basis.

I'd like Sailor Moon redubbed. If anything, I'd like someone to "fix" the edits in the CWI dub. It's annoying to hear Fisheye being called a "woman" when "she" has a man's chest.
