Anime shows you would like to see redubbed?

Now, we all know there are quite a few anime shows that didn't really get a decent or even an uncut dub. I for one would like to see an uncut redub of Sailor Moon for the entire series, including seasons 1 and 2 and Sailor Stars (which was never dubbed). I'd also would rather have it dubbed by a different cast, particulary FUNimation. There's no way in hell this would ever happen, since Toei won't give the licence to anyone because of Sailor Stars pluse it's too old of a series pretty much, but it would definitely be awesome. Now this is not to be confused with the Fantasy Dub casts thread, as this is a thread about the shows themself and particularly shows that did not recieve a decent dub. Anybody have any shows they would like to see a redub of?

An uncut Zatch Bell redub based on the original Japanese script would be nice. A lot of content has been edited. So yeah. Oh, yes...Mazinger Z and Captain Harlock, the original series, as well. The former had been dubbed in the past...twice. But, it was never finished. Same for Captain Harlock. Getting the old cast for those are neigh impossible. But, I wouldn't mind Captain Harlock using the Bang Zoom dub cast for the OVA.

Ghost in the Shell, the original film. I know they'd never mess that much with the original film, but still. Recast McGlynn as Motoko instead of the other lady (her voice always struck me as too nasally. Not that she didn't do the role well and leave a strong impression REGARDLESS.). No one's vocal rendition of Motoko can ever top McGlynn's in my opinion. She is a domestic goddess.

....Gravitation. Good LORD Gravitation. Eiri sounded absolutely horrific and Shuichi sounded like an old man. Maybe it was because their selection of actors wasn't that great, but really- they could have at least tried to match them to the originals tone. The show is awesome but could really use a redub.

Well, I personally believe any show done by 4Kids should get the One Piece treatment and be completely redubbed. I also think any of the Viz shows that came on Toonami except Naruto should be redubbed as well. In particular Zatch Bell, MAR and Blue Dragon. Not a lot of the voices were really cutting it for me in those shows. (except for Yuri Lowenthall's roles)

I would also like to see FUNi re-do Rockman.EXE/Megaman NT Warrior, if not only because the viewers were screwed out of the last 3 seasons (I wanted to see Stream dammit)

I'm glad that FUNi has The Law of Ueki and Shakugan no Shana because both of those shows are excellent, however, upon hearing the dubs, my ears began to cry. Particularly with Law of Ueki. I mean have you heard the dub for that show? Ueki sounds waaaaaaay too bored. Even in a big-time life-threating action sequence. I mean, I know that he is like that in the original version but they played the bored part up too much. Sano and Mori's VA are...lazy. No other word for it. They sound like they decided to tape their voices when they just woke up in the morning. The same with the other power users. They were all just bland and un-interesting. The only voice I thought worked was Robert Hayden because he sounded incredibly psychotic. A surprise of a bad dub from Geneon

And don't get me started on the subtitles on the DVD's. They were obviously dub-titles. When the DVD's went out of print, I admit it now, I watched the rest of the series fansubbed. I am not Japanese, but I can direct my mind around a raw episode and I can definitely understand what they say when it comes to shounen shows like Law of Ueki. (I can hear them say Koba-sen on the screen Geneon. I'm pretty sure his name is not Mr. K)

As for Shakugan no Shana, every voice was bland and kinda blended together so I was disappointed by that too.

i agree with the above statement, also, Ultimate Muscle, while funny sounding 4Kids voices were just bad.

There's Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew and Cardcaptor Sakura.

Those shows were just done so, so wrong. I wouldn't mind if ViZ or FUNImation redubbed them the correct way.

You know, I really can't think of any magical girl show that was put out in America that was ever done...you know...right. I mean, a lot of these shows I like but they were just done so wrong. Now, I'm hoping they get re-dubbed someday

(FUNi+acquiring Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha=WIN. I hope they get the sequels A's and StrikerS)

I wanna see Case Closed redubbed with an LA voice cast. Not saying Funi's version was bad, but I just wanna see how that would go.

Law of Ueki also needs a redub. Because when I first heard it got licensed I thought it would go to LA and not Canada. When it did get sent up up there it got sent to Blue Water Studios. And all the voices like garfield15 said, they're all just bland.

I like to see Banner/Crest of the stars redubbed. I wasn't too happy with the quality of the the VA's and the actual sound quality (especially in Crest) is pretty bad.

You are wrong. See Tweeny Witches. Also Magical DoReMi (sort of), Kamichu!, Pretear, Magic Knight Rayearth, Magical Meow Meow Taruto, Somedays Dreamers, Ultramaniac, Etc. I have others in my queue that I haven't watched yet, so this list is probably much larger.

As for shows that need to be redubbed, Card Capter Sakura, and Interlude. I like the voice actors for Interlude (especially the girl), but the mouth flaps don't match what is being said very often.

Shaman King, it appears 4Kids' dub will never be released since I keep hearing they no longer have the lisence. If thats the case I'll settle for a redub, preferably by FUNimation, but sadly I don't think its ever going to happen.

Man, those are nothing. If we're talking essential re-dubs, we're talking Giant Robo. Dubbed twice (TWICE!) so far and both attempts are terrible, for entirely different reasons.

Oh god. That show's voices were pretty horrendous. You're right.

Most Gundam shows. It might be a result of the technology used to fit dialogue to the flaps, but most performances in Gundam dubs are so flat and dry. That and words being mangled or getting too much emphasis. Ocean VA's seem to put too much focus when they say the title word.
