Here it is! The SummerSlam prediction thread! RA training and the residence halls opening have caused me to fall behind on WWE TV. Remember, predictions cannot be made or edited after 8 p.m. EDT on Sunday.

SummerSlam has 8 scheduled matches, so everyone's total will be out of 8. If you refuse to pick on principle, Kippy has no clue who you want, or you just plain miss it, you will get it wrong. For example, if you don't pick a winner in the... Sweet, we don't have a lame match it seems.

Legend vs. Icon
Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels

WWE Championship
Champion John Cena vs. Chris Jericho

Matt Hardy vs. Edge with Lita

Eugene with Christy vs. Kurt Angle

World Heavyweight Championship - No Holds Barred
Champion Batista vs. JBL

United States Championship
Champion Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit

Ladder Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero

The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton

Please remember this thread encompasses anything to do with predictions. Should you feel the need to tally up your score, "challenge" people, or tell the story of the "match for the championship" that is going to fit in here, not the talkback thread for the event which will of course be posted Sunday.

Hulk Hogan
John Cena
The Undertaker
Matt Hardy
Kurt Angle
Batista
Chris Benoit
Rey Mysterio

Legend vs. Icon
Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels
Hogan is a superstar, but he's retired. Michaels continues to be a star in today's world even though he is a heel. As long as Hogan's reality show airs, they'll continue to have him on WWE, and a perfect way to keep him after Summer Slam is by having him go down in defeat, but I really don't think he needs apperances on RAW to remain popular. WINNER: Hulk Hogan

WWE Championship
Champion John Cena vs. Chris Jericho
They've got to keep the RAW boss ticked some how, and I've heard that HHH will be #1 contender shortly after the move to USA next month. Which feud would be better: Jericho vs. HHH or Cena vs. HHH? Well, they've done the Jericho vs. HHH storyline before, but Cena hasn't. Combined with the USA commercial showing Cena with the belt, I think it's obvious who I'm going with. WINNER: John Cena

Matt Hardy vs. Edge with Lita
Version 1 is back and ready to strike at Edge with a venegance. Meanwhile, Mr. Money in the Bank still has his steel brief case and Lita at his side, and he's shown he knows how to use them. Edge had been primed for a big title push, but with Hardy back, I think it'll become a caboose. WINNER: Matt Hardy

Eugene with Christy vs. Kurt Angle
No time limit means this does not look good for Home Star Runner. It doesn't look good for Eugene either, and Kurt won't be foolish enough to get disqualified again as long as he can beat on Eugene. Frankly, both Invitationals need to be done away with, and having Kurt win and then retire his gold medals is the perfect way to do so. WINNER: Kurt Angle

World Heavyweight Championship - No Holds Barred
Champion Batista vs. JBL
JBL has had a long push. In the last year he has been the champ or the #1 contender at every PPV. Frankly, people are tired of seeing him, and they need to adjust his story line since we all know he isn't a wrestling god. If the writer's are smart, they'll build on the Orton/ Batista feud after Summer Slam, but they'd need Batista to remain the champ to do such a thing. With that being said, I'm going to use my head. WINNER: Batista

United States Championship
Champion Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit
Another return from the lowest rated PPV ever match, and if the WWE is smart, they'll have it end with different results. Orlando Jordan has done nothing with the title, but Benoit is seen weekly. A champ needs to be visaible and have lots of matches if they are to establish the position that the title is important again. Having Benoit win would be a perfect way to begin that evidence. WINNER: Chris Benoit

Ladder Match for custody of Dominic
Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero
That last part tells me the winner of this match. School is about to begin again, and that means Dominic won't have time to travel with the WWE. If Eddie was to win this match, they'd need to have that happen. However, if Rey wins the match, then Dominic can return home to his peaceful family life. WINNER: Rey Mysterio

The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
Which one do they want to have a title push for harder: an old classic wrestler who works part time, or a legend killer with tons of fans who was the youngest World champion ever? If the signs before the draft prove anything, it's that Orton and Batista having a feud for the title will bring in ratings and fans. What better way to begin Smackdown! on Friday's than pumping that match-up, but if Taker was to win this match, he'd be in line as the #1 contender, so I have to say WINNER: Randy Orton

Other matches that will probably take place on Heat:
MNM vs. The Legion of Doom
The Heart Throbs vs. Hurricane & Rosey

Champs left out of the PPV: Carlito

Other Superstars who should be in Summer Slam: Booker T, Christian, Ric Flair

Note I'm not saying those last ones will be matches, but it wouldnt surprise me if they did one or both.

WWE Championship
Champion John Cenavs. Chris Jericho

Cena

Matt Hardy vs. Edge with Lita
Hardy

Eugene with Christy vs. Kurt Angle
Angle

World Heavyweight Championship - No Holds Barred
Champion Batista vs. JBL

Batista

United States Championship
Champion Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit

Benoit

Ladder Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero

Rey

The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
Orton

1. Of course HULK HOGAN will win in his match with HBK. HBK will dominate the match though (and make Hogan out to be a fool by outwrestling him) . I'd say the ending will come when a surprise appearance by Steve Austin helps Hogan win. And help start the push of Hogan/Austin at next year's Mania.

2. With all due respect to Jericho, CENA will retain his title. Like it or not, he's still a star on the rise and it would be foolish for him to drop the title now. Plus Jericho is taking time off after 'Slam.

3. HARDY will gain a smidgen of revenge. Though I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Double-DQ. Regardless, this will not be the end of this feud.

4. ANGLE gets his gold medals back and wins.

5. BATISTA retains the title. The WWE would be silly for him to drop the title in his hometown.

6. BENOIT should finally win and become US champ.

7. I'll say EDDIE wins. He has to beat Rey in order for him to be viewed as a possible threat to Batista's title. And finally beat Ray (well according to the storyline. He has beaten rey lots of times in WCW and the first year of Rey's WWE run.) Even if that means Dominic turning on Rey. Sounds silly, but the WWE is very silly these days.

8. I'll go with ORTON, the Legend Killer. I think he's the next one to be fed to Batista.

Legend vs. Icon
Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels (Well, this seems to be Hogan's "last match" even though there are reports speculating that Hogan may face Stone Cold at Wrestlemania XXII. With Michaels looking so 'strong' on RAW the other day, I guess the Hulkamania bore will win.)

WWE Championship
Champion John Cenavs. Chris Jericho (I saw the poster for Unforgiven already, and Cena is on it with Angle next to him. I will have to say Cena on this alone)

Matt Hardy vs. Edge with Lita (I have to agree that I won't be surprised if there is a Double-DQ, but if there isn't one, I would have to say Matt Hardy)

Eugene with Christy vs. Kurt Angle (This one is really interesting. However, I would have to say that Kurt would win this one after he pWns Eugene with an Angle Lock. This match should make Eugene a further star if all balances correctly)

World Heavyweight Championship - No Holds Barred
Champion Batista vs. JBL (JBL has acted very unprofessionally lately. With the PPV "One Night Stand" still over the locker room head, I would have to guess that Batista retains and gets fed to Orton by No Mercy or the Survivor Series)

United States Championship
Champion Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit (Now, the US Championship has currently gone down to the level that WCW World Heavyweight Championship was in in 2000. Benoit did the job first time around, so I expect Jordan to retain unfortunately, but I just hope the pace of the match is faster than the Great American POT (Piece of Trash)

Ladder Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero (With so much at stake here, the choice is simple: 619!)

The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton (Orton did the job at Wrestlemania in order for his shoulder to be operated on. With that in mind, I think that the winner of this match will be the man RKO)
Overall, this looks like a decent PPV if booked correctly. The ladder match will be off the chart, and both championship matches have potential. I just hope WWE doesn't blow it like the GAPOT.

Here are my choices:
Michaels
Cena

Angle
Batista
Beniot
Mysterio
Orton

Legend vs. Icon
Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels
winner: hulk hogan

WWE Championship

Matt Hardy vs. Edge with Lita

Eugene with Christy vs. Kurt Angle
winner: kurt angle

World Heavyweight Championship - No Holds Barred
Champion Batista vs. JBL
winner: batista

United States Championship
Champion Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit
winner: chris benoit

Ladder Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero
winner: rey mysterio

The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
winner: the undertaker

Penguin: Technically, you're right. Eddie vs. Benoit isn't a lame match, it's just been saddled with a lame gimmick.

My picks:

Hogan
Cena
Hardy
Angle
Batista
Benoit
Rey
Taker

Hogan
Cena
Hardy
Kurt
Batista
Benoit
Rey
Orton

Hulk Hogan
John Cena

TWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT MATCH

landen alger(C) VS Memphis Bleek VS Spike Mcdougal

Boy Wonder VS The Penguin

Legend vs. Icon
Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels

HBK will win.

WWE Championship
Champion John Cena vs. Chris Jericho

John Cena will win, that and there was speculation that Y2J will leave the WWE after SummerSlam.

Matt Hardy vs. Edge with Lita
Matt Hardy will win, and vengeance will be served against Lita.

Eugene with Christy vs. Kurt Angle
Kurt Angle will win, because one way or another, he's gonna get his gold medal back.

World Heavyweight Championship - No Holds Barred
Champion Batista vs. JBL

Judging by what happened at The Great American Bash last month, I don't think JBL stands a chance against the Animal, so Batista will win.

United States Championship
Champion Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit

Chris Benoit will win.

Ladder Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero

Rey Mysterio will win.

The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
Undertaker will win.

Um Jericho is going on Tour not leaving the WWE. Yes he will be leaving but he won't be leaving the WWE since he just renewed his contract. He is just going away for awhile.

Hogan
Cena
Matt Hardy
Kurt Angle
Batista
Chris Benoit
Eddie Guerrero
Randy Orton

eddy vs. rey
-eddy
this match will prob jus serve as another chapter in this downhill storyline, finally giving eddy a record book and emotional win as rey now has to fight at the next ppv to get his son back...

benoit vs. orlando
-benoit
horribly booked match, no buildup so nothing to really analize exept that benoit is due to beat orlando this time around and get some kind of gold...could turn out though to be a sleeper hit match of the night.

kurt vs. eugene
-kurt
a fued to simply bide time for angle until he gets back into the world title picture...he'll finally bring home the gold at summerslam...hopefully he'll also retire the gold medal challenge...

batista vs. jbl
-batista
i think it's safe to say the jbl era has come to a pit stop until someone else gets the belt off of batista..jbl will finally get pinned, bloodied and shut up for a little while.

taker vs. orton
-orton
really makes me grind my teeth to give it to orton and i hope if any match i'm wrong most about it's this one...but logically i suppose they'll both share victories at major ppvs and have a final deciding third match which will be none other than hell in the cell...

matt vs. edge
-matt
a great, intense fued. the buildup with matt's return was done brillantly...matt should have a succcesfull return match and most likley a twist of fate for lita also...unless she pulls a surprise turn on edge and rekindles the romance lol...

cena vs. jericho
-cena
easier to call than a smackdown road warriors match... the jury is out, jericho falls at the hands of the f-u...

hogan vs. hbk
-hogan
in what has been arguably the best booked fued in a very long time and one of my favorites with thanks to two great legendary stars who have always shined in promos and play off each other great...hbk has recently went full heel in the fued and really caused the most havok the whole time...he should finally get his payback from hogan...and if theres a god bret will cut his autograph session a bit short and stop by to say hi to micheals at the finish.

Legend vs. Icon
Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels

Winner: Hogan - Can't see any reason to prolong the feud past SS, so I think Hogan will give HBK the big boot.

WWE Championship
Champion John Cenavs. Chris Jericho

Winner: Cena - With the Jericho rumors, I don't see Cena losing the belt. Should be in for an interesting feud next.

Matt Hardy vs. Edge with Lita
Winner: Edge - Edge & Matt are on different plateaus and I just don't see any point to see Hardy get over. I'd like to see Hardy go after Carlito next.

Eugene with Christy vs. Kurt Angle
Winner: Angle - I just can't see them putting Eugene over Angle. Angle should make him tap.

World Heavyweight Championship - No Holds Barred
Champion Batista vs. JBL
Winner: Batista - The best thing for Smackdown is for Batista to be champ, and I don't see that changing here. I'm hoping for a certain run-in to occur, but I think that's just wishful thinking.

United States Championship
Champion Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit
Winner: Benoit - I definitely think it's time for Benoit to have gold once again. OJ hasn't done much of late, and I think having Benoit be the US Champ will bring some importance to the belt.

Ladder Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero
Winner: Eddie Guerrero - Rey seems to keep beating Eddie, so I think it's time for the tables to turn.

The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
Winner: Orton - Got screwed out of winning at Wrestlemania, the Legend Killer gets payback at SS taking out Undertaker and starting his climb back to the top.

1). Rey Mysterio vs. Eddy Guerrero - The angle sux, but this being a Ladder Match is always cool. Plus, these have never wrestled a bad match. That said, Rey's got to win this match. Eddy will not lose his heat by losing. And Rey hasn't lost to him yet this year.

Winner (and father of Dominic): Rey Rey

2). Chris Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan - OK, let's get it out of the way. OJ SUX!!!!!! He is the worst champion since JBL. Chris Benoit can sleepwalk in and beat him. The fact that he lost already to this bum makes me seathe. And I'm not a Benoit fan. Toothless Aggression runs all over OJ and send him to the lower card where he belongs.

Winner and NEW US Champion: Chris Benoit

3). Edge vs. Matt Hardy - I could care less about this match. Edge's promo saved this fued after Matt Hardy damn near killed it with his. Message to Creative: NEVER GIVE MATT HARDY A MICROPHONE EVER AGAIN!!!!!!! This is Matt Hardy's chance. His only chance. The entire wrestling world is kinda on your side. The fans are pulling for you. But there's no way in the world you're going to win this match. It's not going to happen. Edge is near main event, and Matt, well, you're probably going back to the unemployment line in a month or so.

Winner (despite my personal feelings on what Lita and Edge did, which for the record is pretty f-ed up): Edge

4). Kurt Angle vs. Eugene - I hate this one. Eugene is a very good wrestler. He really is. I've seen him pre-retard gimmick. That said, Kurt Angle will/better win this match. I love Kurt Angle. I personally respect him for winning his gold medal with a broken neck. As much fun as Eugene can be, Kurt snaps his ankle, then, just to be a true prick heel, steals Christy Hemme from him too.

Winner: Kurt Angle

5). Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker - I hate Randy Orton. He's a prick in the locker room and should have been canned like others who've pulled stunts like he has. But WWE has a woody for him, so he gets to stay. He wins this match, because Undertaker has got to start putting people over. Doesn't he?

Winner: Randy Orton(DEAR GOD WHY!!!!!!)

6). John Cena vs. Chris Jericho - Cena wins, end of story.

Winner: John Cena

7). Shawn Michaels vs. Hulk Hogan - As much as HBK has done to make this one go, there's no way Hogan loses. Face it folks, Hulkamania still runs wild. It never stopped. And he didn't come back to job to Shawn. HBK doesn't lay down for anyone. That's fine. You won't have to lay down. Hulk will put you down. Oh, and Bret isn't going to show up. Let it go Canada.

Winner: Hulk Hogan

8). Batista vs. JBL - JBL as champ, no matter how good he is on the mic, doesn't work. It just doesn't. Big Dave crushes JBL, and moves to job to Randy Orton, just to piss me off.

Winner: Batista
