What Toonami show got you "hooked" on Toonami?

Reboot Season 3!

I remember rushing home from work during my lunch break JUST TO WATCH IT LIVE and tape it without commercials!

When Reboot Season 3 was on, I *STILL* had a sour taste in my mouth about DBZ from when it was shown on FOX on Sundays. I treated it as though it was Pokemon for a while >.<

It wasn't till Ronin Warriors was on AFTER DBZ that I really started watching DBZ.

Well, hooked in a past tense. I used to watch Toonami everyday when they used to air Jonny Quest and the early seasons of Reboot. I stopped watching regulary in circa 1999-2000. I was hooked for a short time, but became de-hooked.

For me, it was back in 1998, during the Moltar Era. It was just before Toonami got Sailor Moon, and show that got me hooked to the block at that time was the 1980s anime classic Robotech.

A friend told me to check out Sailor Moon and DBZ. I'd heard of Toonami before, (I always watched SWAT Kats on Saturdays and saw the commercials) but I'd never watched the block before late 1998.

A combination Sailor Moon and DBZ got me hooked on Toonami (and also led me to the darkest side of fandom that I'd rather not discuss during my childhood)...;;;

I was a bit of a latecomer to Toonami, as I didn't have cable television for the late 1990's and early 2000's. I did watch Toonami on Kids WB for awhile, with Dragonball Z, but it wasn't until 2003 when I really got hooked into Toonami. Yu Yu Hakusho was the show that really got me hooked into Toonami.

I think that it was the adds that just drew me to it but then again it was like also mainly DBZ.

It was the one-two punch of DBZ and Gundam Wing.

DBZ got me started. My friend showed me it was on Toonami and from there on I watched it for years. Then Gundam Wing came along and I was BLOWN AWAY. Especially that it was airing "uncut" though I only saw maybe 2 episodes of that. From there Tenchi and Outlaw Star kept me interested and so on and so forth. Actually I really enjoyed Sailor Moon back in the day and also Reboot of course. But if there was a show that got me hooked on Toonami and anime fandom it was definently Gundam Wing.

Sailor Moon got me interested, DBZ got me hooked, and Gundam Wing, Tenchi, and Outlaw Star kept me watching. 2000-2001 = The Golden Age of Toonami.

I remember being 12 and my friend telling me all about this new show he'd watched called "Gundam Wing." That, and Dragonball Z, were the first two cartoons on Toonami I watched. Before then, I'd only seen some of Dragonball Z while at friends' houses and heard about it at school, since I didn't have cable. From the ages of 4-11 my cartoon needs were met by Fox and Kids WB....

Definitely Dragon Ball Z. It was my favorite show back in the day. Then whan Sailor Moon started airing, I started watching other shows like Gundam Wing, and Reboot.

I used to watch Toonami every once in a while,
But the shows that really got me to be a hard core Toonami fan were, Naruto and IGPX.

My first Naruto episode I saw was “The Oath of Pain”. That episode had more that enough action to get me hooked.
As for IGPX, the firth episode I saw was “Cat vs. Dog”. That gave me enough of a feel for the show. Plus it put my two passions (after Toonami), sports and racing, into one great anime.

And the only time I could watch these shows was during the Toonami block.

erm i think it was dragonballz but then again i watched mostly everything on cartoon network at the time but one thing i realy do remember bout the longest time i first watched toonami was during the 3 hour run over the christmas holidays. with the dragonball z freizer saga for 2 hours and 30 mins and ending of at 530pm with batman of the future. Those were great times
