Ok, so after seeing the first Toonami schedule for 2026, I did some calculations of my own regarding what the next months will be like, and this is what I came up with:

Current Shows' predicted finale days (did this by finding out which episode the show is at currently):
  • Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War ends either on February 28 or March 7. It depends on if Toonami airs the final 2 episodes separately or back-to-back.
  • Blue Exorcist ends on April 25.
  • Mashle: Magic & Muscles ends on January 31.
The arrival of newer shows:
  • Primal Season 3 - The season will already make its Adult Swim premiere on January 11, so expect there to be reruns on Toonami sometime in the future as they reran Seasons 1 & 2 in the past.
  • Dan DA Dan Season 2 - The first episode will air as a sneak peek on the 27th of December, so I assume it have its full premiere on February 7 and replace Mashle once it finishes its run.
  • Rooster Fighter - I have heard that the show will premiere in Spring 2026, so I assume it will make its premiere on May 2 and replace Blue Exorcist.
  • My Adventures With Superman Season 3 - This is a tough one, as I have not heard news about it since San Diego Comic Con 2025. I'm guessing it will either premiere as part of Toonami or as part of Adult Swim sometime in Spring/Summer 2026.
  • Ninja Kamui Season 2 & 3 - Yet another one I have not heard any news from since its announcement at the 2025 Annecy Film Festival. My assumption is that Season 2 will premiere in late 2026/early 2027 and Season 3 will premiere in 2027/2028.
  • One Punch Man Season 3 - I doubt it will premiere at all, as the Season has been getting a lot of negative reviews since its release.
  • Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Season 4 - I don't know if Toonami will be premiering this one, but if they did, I assume it will be sometime later in the year.
  • My Hero Academia Seasons 7 & 8 - Oh boy. This is a big one. The last time we saw My Hero Academia on Toonami was the Season 6 rerun back in August - November 2024. There have since been no news of the final seasons arrival on Toonami since then. My assumption is that they are saving both seasons for Toonami airing until the the show wraps up altogether (both in its original Japanese audio and the English Dub). Now, unless Toonami decides to extend to an 11 PM start which I highly doubt will happen, I'm predicting that the final seasons will finally air on Toonami on either March 7 or 14, replacing Bleach when it finishes its current run on the channel. If that doesn't happen, then I assume it will come sometime later this year. It really depends on what shows, both new and returning, they bring to the lineup in the future weeks to come, as well as whether or not Crunchyroll lets them air the seasons on the network.
Now these are just my predictions so I don't know if they will be correct or not. It depends on what Toonami adds throughout 2026. I will post newer predictions at certain points, mainly after Toonami releases newer schedules in the future.

MHA ain’t airing. Crunchyroll is done giving Toonami even a centimeter unless they are bullied into it. The rest of this prediction makes sense though.

Here's what I'm excited and unexcited for for 2026:

First off, I was ecstatic when I saw the Dandadan marathon includes a sneak peek of season 2. Toonami has definitely been getting a bit better about getting their shows in a reasonable timeframe recently, and this is the best example yet.

Rooster Fighter is basically the anti-Lazarus. It knows exactly what it is, and it’s based off an existing work rather than the result of Watanabe’s mid-life crisis. It will certainly be the best original since Shenmue, and I’m excited to see it come to fruition.

MAWS is a good show, and should be a good ratings boost considering how good the last two seasons did. I’m curious what places they’ll go with it now that the audience has been found and the first “arc”, so to speak, has concluded.

I’ve never cared much about Demon Slayer.

Primal reruns and Ninja Kamui will suck, and there probably won’t be nearly as many surprises as there were this year, just cause of how many [adult swim] programs the block will be given. I could be wrong about that, but we’ll see.

The fact that Crunchyroll was willing to license MHA to a no-name network that doesn't even specialize in anime over Toonami shows that they have zero intention to give us the final seasons.

I can totally see all that other stuff coming to Toonami, though.

Well Toonami did get Dragon Ball Daima but that was after the show finished its run on Crunchyroll.

But yeah, unless they do manage to nab the TV broadcast rights to S7 and S8 by hidden luck, it is what it is unfortunately.

Hence why I say "unless they are bullied into it". Only Toei can actually convince Crunchyroll into anything.

Blue Exorcist ends on April 25.
It’s highly likely we jump right in, but right now S5 isn’t confirmed yet.

While we may end up with these reruns, thankfully it appears they won’t be running right on top of the premier. They had an opportunity to speed up DDD S1 to end on Jan 17th and didn’t take it. So now there isn’t any room for Primal S3.
Rooster Fighter - I have heard that the show will premiere in Spring 2026, so I assume it will make its premiere on May 2 and replace Blue Exorcist.
May pretty well overshoots the spring anime season, better odds of this replacing Bleach, even if they need to go into stall mode for a few weeks to make it happen.

Toonami got to premier S2, so I think it’s safe to say it will continue to premier on the block. The only reason Primal does not premier on Toonami is because Genndy has an issue with Toonami.
One Punch Man Season 3 - I doubt it will premiere at all, as the Season has been getting a lot of negative reviews since its release.
Negative reviews or fan demands never influence a Toonami pickup. This is the block that picked up Boruto, remember? Anyway, OPM is a Viz title which means it’s accessible, bad or not, it will be an essential slot filler as other shows wrap up.

These seasons will not air. Toonami hasn’t been saving anything, they cannot access any shows held by Crunchyroll. That also means Fire Force and Dr Stone will not finish their Toonami runs either.

The only way these shows could make it to Toonami is by some kind of huge corporate shakeup at Crunchyroll that replaces the current Toonami hating staff with people who don’t have such a deep rooted hatred for this block.

Yea, unfortunately the block has a lot of obligations this year, and a dwindling list of acquisition options. Dan Da Dan was our only fresh face to the block in 2025, and it seems that unless one of our allies lands a Jump title, they aren’t willing to branch out any further.

Understandable. Crunchyroll is owned by Sony, and we haven't seen Dr. Stone and Fire Force on Toonami since February 2024 (Dr. Stone) and May 2021 (Fire Force).

Unless Toonami does manage to convince Crunchyroll to air them (which is highly unlikely at this point), that's one prediction thrown out the window.

And I don't expect Spy X Family or Jujutsu Kaisen to air on Toonami as they are licensed by Crunchyroll as well.

What are our odds on Toonami keeping 3:00-4:00 AM? I could see them losing at least 3:30 pretty quickly. Is anyone planning to stay up that late for Rick and Morty the Anime reruns?

What new anime (that aren’t held by Crunchyroll) could air on Toonami (aside from Rooster Fighter) in 2026?

Probably pretty low after they see how hard R&M craters those already low hours. On the 27th they are airing an extra hour of American Dad instead, probably won’t be long till we see them transition over to that.

That’s hard to answer. In theory, they could get anything from Aniplex, Viz, or Sentai. But as we have seen, they have zero interest in any pickup that isn’t from Shonen Jump. So unless they change their attitude, we aren’t gonna see much.

It ebbs and flows. It hasn't been consistent in the last 5 years but could change 1-3 times a year or just once. The block will retract soon enough usually around Daylight Savings Time in late February/March, then change again July/August, then late November/December.

My personal predictions for 2026 (feeling hopeful today)

- Primal season 3 airs on January 17th
- DanDaDan season 2 premieres January 31st
- Yaiba premieres March 14th
- Rooster Fighter premieres April 4th
- One-Punch man season 3 and The Elusive Samurai premiere May 9th
- Demon Slayer season 4 premieres August 15th
- My Hero Academia season 7 and Wind Breaker premiere August 22nd
- Tougen Anki premieres October 17th

Thousand-Year Blood War Cour 4 airs in January of 2027
Black Torch and My Adventures with Superman season 3 airs sometime 2027

Black Torch and My Adventures with Superman season 3 airs sometime 2027

MAWS S3 was announced back in June 2024, so it should be expected for 2026 since we didn't get any news of it since SDCC 2025.

I have noticed on the lineups page on the Toonami wiki that a section for January 17 has been added even though there's nothing on there yet for it.

Unless it's for the Primal S3 Toonami encores being added to the block that day, I'm taking this with a grain of salt...

The online schedule is blank for that day, and Dan Da Dan reruns end the week prior, so something will be changing that night. Pretty good chance it’s just Primal reruns.

My (and Oh wow's) predictions were correct. Primal S3 reruns will indeed air on Toonami next Saturday once DanDADan finishes its rerun. This was just posted on Toonami's Facebook.

So I'm guessing DanDADan S2 will start airing on the block once Mashle finishes on January 31

Starting February 7th (via Toonami's Facebook), Blue Lock and Tokyo Revengers will start airing on the block. They will replace Blue Exorcist & Mashle.

So now I assume DanDADan S2 will be added to the block when either Bleach or the reruns of either Primal, Dragon Ball, Zom 100, or the Rick & Morty anime finish their run.
