WBD Acquisition Thread

Friendly reminder that this was a legit thing that happened. However, it was derived from the former Nickelodeon channel closing in the summer of 2022.

I would consider as defeat if merger is closed and all lawsuits get dismissed.

It is extremely premature to say about defeat.
Same here, it's too early to measure the consequences

Melania 2 and Rush Hour 5 will definitely happen under Ellison.

"Now the true battle begins."

With WBD's stockholders voting in favor of the merger with Paramount, we can now expect U.S. and global regulators to be scrutinizing every single tiny detail of this massive merger that has wide-ranging ramifications for the long-term future of both companies and their respective IPs, businesses and brands, including the Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon brands which are especially relevant to this toon-centric forum.

@awinger24 Have you contacted a mental health hotline? Have you considered non-WB/non–Looney Tunes special interests (e.g. Nintendo, Disney)?

I have actually. This also goes for theme parks considering Six Flags currently has long term theme park licenses.

Parque Warner Madrid starting to use SpongeBob characters. Just my opinion

Honestly, all I want is Paramount not touching anything good that WBD has (TCM, Tooncast and the channel groups I always name (Maybe not Frisbee and K2, it would be a sweet release for them to close...))

Regulators still have to review the merger, also it can be blocked by the court. That happened with other M&A that where shareholders approved at first place.
Maybe that could happen. I wonder how the WB fans will react if it does happen.

Super!'s shut down and the rerouting of content to K2?

Looking back now. Being devastated about is not a long term answer. At some point, this proposed merger is going to get blocked, delayed or sued one way or another. It is not a done deal.

No, for how I see it, none of the three channels manage to save themselves.
No idea who can come to grab at least one of those freed LCNs
(pspsps, AMC Global Media, pspspsp, Yamato Video too, pspspsp)

It could be worse.

Well, after that we had POP, Sony probably tried. Mayhaps.
Or maybe someone else. Especially those minor players recovering vintage dubs. I'm getting the feeling that Paramount is leaving terrestrial TV in Italy because of the upcoming merger

i'm gonna try to be as polite as I can: ever since paramount got the upper hand, you have actively been unhelpful to this entire conversation
While I agree with most of this post, Paramount doesn't have the upper hand yet. The merger can still be stopped.

That’s what I’m hoping for. They really want to get the merger approved quickly as possible. The intimate dinner tonight is definitely a bribe. I can’t see it close in September.

I also regret everything I said earlier. The merger is still not final yet. Nothing will get deleted and purged. Whether it closes or not, WB and Paramount will still be fine.

Glad I got you to watch Stranger Things.

If I may recommend more media for you to check out, here's a starter:

You've mentioned that haven't read the original TMNT comics from Mirage Studios. Well, this video by YouTuber "Soundout12" gives a decent roadmap for where to start:

dmxx116 really likes to wish for people not to return back to so and so because their films didn't do so well. I don't agree with everything he says, though I agree on that Jared Leto shouldn't play Skeletor.
I'm sorry but I disagree with what GRPHX said about the past five films with Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as the choice of Denis Villeneuve as director and Steven Knight as writer in the next film because I really doubt Villeneuve's take will be like the Craig films at all and besides, all of the stuff he mentioned happened before the Craig films such as Licence to Kill.

Hi, welcome to Toonzone

There's something about seeing kids cry after they mess up big time that really gets to me. One can definitely feel bad for Layla.
