Where'd you get last year's ratings?

FLCL 1 mil?

Those ratings cant be real.

I know this is somewhat off-topic, but the English pronunciation of Fooly Cooly has got to be one of the lamest names I have ever seen for a TV show. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know that FLCL was Fooly Cooly.

But yeah, that show has been rerun to death and with only six episodes, it shouldn't have lasted so long.

Those second run ratings look pretty impressive. It must be the Toonami packaging that's keeping those numbers somewhat high. It's saying a lot IMO when Deadman Wonderland gets 1.1m viewers and then just a couple hours later gets 756k. Kind of depressing that it decreased since last year if those numbers are true, but I think in due time they'll get higher.

Where'd you get last year's ratings?
I think those are also from Son of the Bronx. I thought I was reading it wrong at first, but yeah, those are right. Also, Sketch did mention that the first weekend of June last year did exceptionally well.

Last years ratings for June 4, 2011:
12:00a - Bleach - 1,604,000
12:30a - Kekkaishi - 1,404,000
1:00a - Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - 1,277,000
1:30a - FLCL - 1,061,000
2:00a - Cowboy Bebop - 792,000
2:30a - Cowboy Bebop - 634,000
3:00a - Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd Gig - 611,000
3:30a - Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd Gig - 505,000
5:30a - Inuyasha - 592,000

This explains why no gains were reported in the ratings PR that was put out.

The Japanese romanization is Furi Kuri, so I see why they spelled it the way they did. Interestingly, Adam Sheehan at FUNimation (who re-released the series) keeps referring to it as "F.L.C.L.," spelling out each letter instead of calling it "Fooly Cooly." So there's still confusion.

FLCL is like Bebop to me. I can never get tired of it, and I always tune in whenever it's on. But yeah, it's hard to keep playing it when there's only six episodes.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

I wish we (Toonami fans anyway) could celebrate, but... http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/20...ampaign=Feed:+Tvbythenumbers+(TVbytheNumbers)

The Pacquio fight and the big basketball game last week contributed to this. Sketchor did mention about how they were mostly mutually exclusive as people who watch Toonami usually aren't interested in boxing/sports game and vice versa, but as both out trended Deadman Wonderland easily last Saturday. Because of this, I do feel as some exist, as much as the fans don't like to admit it. It is likely that Week 3 will see a decline (unless the ratings did increase in spite of not being #1 like what happened to Bleach Week 2). Unless I'm wrong on this or Week 4 comes out with better ratings...

Sad Astro is sad. Time to contact Jason DeMarco (if others haven't done so yet) on Twitter. Maybe he'll respond.

No matter. That's to be expected on a night with big competition. Week 4 will most likely do better.

I was watching the NBA game and they had a toonami promo during commercials! It was when Boston and Miami were still playing for the eastern conference champions

Really!?? That's an interesting development, and hopefully a sign of things to come.

Was it one of the promos we've already seen, or was it a new one?
I'm glad they're actually advertising Toonami now instead of The Eric Andre Show, which is officially a flop.

I can't remember the last time I saw a promo for Toonami on another network. It must have been years ago when Teen Titans was still on Toonami.

With regards to ratings...

Can't be too bad then.
Source? If that's for Week Three, I want to see it myself.

And Toonami promos on other channels, especially one as big as the NBA? With such little money, at least they're definitely going all out with it.

That was DeMarco's response to Week 2 ratings on Twitter. Even so, I'm pretty sure he doesn't consider Week 3 a loss. He likely was watching the two big sports events as well.

nice increases

2nd run numbers coming up soon ill keep u posted

Holy cow those are some great ratings, everything increased from week 1! Adult Swim has to be happy with these numbers and advertisers have to be going right to Cartoon Network for ad time on the block, these are very solid figures and it shouldn't be long until the block starts earning some serious bank. I wonder if DVD sales of Bleach, Casshern, and some of the other programs are seeing an increase in sales since Toonami came back?

I was mentioned on cruncy roll :D just saying I was the person who ask demarco about the ratings

Those doing the pyramid burger on YouTube are doing it wrong. Let it cook until it's well done because I've seen people doing it and trying it before spitting it after realising that it's raw.
I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
