"Family of Rogues"

When Barry and the team find out Captain Cold has been kidnapped, they form an uneasy alliance with his sister, Lisa (guest star Peyton List).

Skipped it because I can't stand cold did I miss anything important?

Great seeing CAPTAIN COLD again. I just love the way Miller chews up the scenery. :)
This spotlight episode sort of reminds of FLASH #182 which also spotlights CC by Johns.
Martin Stein has a flare up.
Jay creates a portal to Earth-2.
Harrison Wells with a sinister look.

I think this goes a ways toward explaining why Captain Cold is part of Legends of Tomorrow. He has a moral code of his own, as Barry points out. He's also one of the more cerebral Rogues.

In the comics, Lisa had been with The Top, but since Roscoe Dillon hasn't been established here yet, there's a chance she could wind up on the side of good, too, if only to continue her budding relationship w/Cisco.

I can't comment if it was bad writing but his exit did make sense...at the very least on par with Barry's reasoning for having trust issues. Barry's dad left because he knew he would want to spend every waking moment with him trying to make up for all the lost time. But Barry was a hero now and Central City needed him more than Barry's dad needed him.
And if that sounds like a load of crap then in terms of logistical reasons it probably made the most sense. This cast is blowing up at a rate that makes we wonder if the showrunners aren't just gonna start giving the characters the weekly walking dead treatment (given the fact that time traveling and multiverses are a thing they very well could). I mean, in this episode alone they introduced three new characters, along with bringing Dr. Wells back into fold. Its a credit to Terry Sanders and Shantel VanSanten that they fit so nicely into the cast. But can you imagine if Shipp was still there? What role would he even play in this world of multiverses especially when his story line is done ( his wife was avenged and he's out of jail).
I understand why Barry's dad not sticking around - the episode made that very clear. My critique would be the approach at how his leaving right after being freed seem to short. An episode or two to gradually transition Shipp out of the show would have been more impactful thus worthy of Shipp's send off.

Caitlin - She is clearly attracted to Jay and she convinces Jay to stay in Earth 1 until Zoom is captured. I still think from an audience perspective, it feels too soon. We don't really see nor feel her losing Ronnie.

Lady cop crushing on Barry - I'm sorry, I forget her name. Cute scene at the cafe with her giving her phone number to Barry.

Iris - I am glad she handled the news of her mother so well. I feared her reaction would be similar to her season 1 reaction when she found out everyone kept the secret of Barry's identify away from her. and, she seems to be chummy with Linda Park.

Captain Cold - The I e thing he cares about is his sister. That's a good trait for this anti-hero. Cold's father is a swine. He planted a bomb in his own daughter.

Jay - I didn't realize making a portal to Earth 2 was so easy. I suppose it's good that they didn't stretch this out but, was there any real struggle in creating said portal?

How can anyone hate Wentorth Miller's Captain Cold? Cold has always been integral to the Flash mythos. I guess it's a taste thing... This episode did help flesh out Cold and is easily one of my favorties. Also it features Michael Ironisde as Lewis Snart (Leonard's dad)! I would rather have more Cold and Rogue episodes than the majority of the metas. I love his and Barry's mutual respect realtionship they have going.

Joe told Iris that her mom is alive and in Central City, Jay and Caitlin made a portal to Earth-2 in STAR Labs and Earth-2 Harrison Wells crossed over to Earth-1. Stein had another fireseizure, and Cisco told him about his vibes.

Barry and the team look for another Firestorm match for Dr. Stein.

The last couple of minutes were very interesting.

At least the villain, Tokamak(Henry Hewitt) wasn't killed off.

Ex Mrs. West has the same illness that Clock King sister had which they borrow from the B&R movie.

I expected the giant hand to turn out to be Grodd at first, totally forgetting all the mentions of a shark man. I thought he looked decent though. All together an enjoyable episode. Jefferson's origin reminded of Cyborg's.

I'm really curious to see what happens with Wally.

Those final 3 minutes were awesome. Other than that it was meh episode.

Flash season episode 4 - Fury of Firestorm

Hewitt - It's the guy from the UNIT. And very annoyed that the merging with professor Stein didn't go as planned. I can't say I blame him but he seemed kind of full of himself.

How did he find Caitlin so easily at the car garage?

Another Dr. Wells sighting. Things just got even more interesting. Him saving Barry from the Sharkman was even better. I found the appearance of Sharkman was unintentionally comical.

Cosmic treadmill - I didn't think that would ever get mentioned.

Caitlin - Odd that she worded to Jackson, "This is your chance to be a superhero." I know she was so-so about Jackson but that doesn't explain the odd choice of words.

Iris - While tough to listen to her talk to her birth mother in a unapologetic way, I think it is a good showing of her character.

I was wondering if Caitlin was being a little snobby towards Jefferson at first, gravitating towards the educated scientist and being dismissive of the has been high school athlete.

I don't think she was being intentionally snobby, but she probably thought Hewitt would've been a better choice to join with Firestorm because he and Stein were so similar and Hewitt had the drive to do it, compared to Jefferson who despite having great grades abstained from college to become a simple auto-mechanic.

Considering she lost Ronnie and was about to lose Stein, and how Firestorm has been a big part of her life to a certain extent, she wanted to make sure they got the best person for the job even if the best person didn't end up being who she thought it would be ;).

Anyone else thought the new Firestorm looks kind'a creepy in the dark?

Creepy how so? What does "in the dark" mean?

Barry learns a new breacher, Dr. Light, has come through the portal and sets off to capture her.

This show and its annoying repetitive nature I'm close to taking a brake.
