The Annoying Advertisement Thread!

I have yet to see that specific one, but I get somewhat "adult" ads on YouTube all the time. The current one is for Dr. Squatch I believe, and the guy goes something like, "Here's the thing. The soap you're using, it's [bleep]." At least they censored it; I saw a 15-second movie ad slot with an uncensored s-bomb a few months ago. Shouldn't that be reserved for the red band trailer? Oh wait, it didn't have one because it was a PG-13 movie! The internet, being the way it is, has a lot more leeway with their advertising and can include swearing that you would never dream of seeing in commercials shown on daytime cable.

And I totally agree with you about that ad being kind of offensive. Not really what I want to see before I listen to my meditations at night lol!
I hate it when vulgar ads just pop up. Last school year, I ran a science club at the school that I work at. There are tons of educational and appropriate videos on You Tube that I would have loved to show and discuss with the kids, but I’m scared one of the ads we just discussed would pop up.
I used to see this ad on Nickelodeon all the time. The commercial itself isn't particularly annoying, but the product was a total scam. I got one of these at FAO Schwartz and it was nowhere near as easy and smooth as they make it look. Going by the comments, apparently everyone else who got one had the exact same experience I did.

My grandma had one. It sucked to put in bluntly.

Skittles. For some reason, since the 2000s they've been making weird stuff like the skittles curse (guy turns everything he touches into skittles), the kid attached to the tree that grows skittles (with his mom actively exploiting him and refusing to fix it), and this recent skittles pox commercial. How is this supposed to make you want Skittles?

Don't forget the Jamaican giraffe pee commercial.

(I didn't realize how old this was. I thought this ad just came out recently).

Ok, that's just wrong, can they just go back to the Skittles Wizard from the 90s? At least those looked epic.

What about that Doritos commercial a few years ago that had a guy sucking the cheese dust off another guy's finger? Every time I saw that I was like "I'm never eating another Dorito again."

Thought of a great one. If this thread died without it being mentioned, bad for me, bad for America.

Remember those super gross Gatorade spots a few years ago that showed athletes sweating and even bleeding bright orange or blue liquid down their bodies? Every wet body secretion you can think of, the advertisers substituted Gatorade dripping for it. I think it was supposed to make Gatorade drinkers feel hardcore and intentionally off-putting, but Gatorade is an actual food, or rather a drink. I would think the advertisers would want me to like the idea of putting it in my mouth rather than be physically revolted by it.

Those ads were the kinds of things that told me that advertisers back then didn't really do actual market research. It's actually a no-brainer that you don't turn your beverage visually into excess human snot. This is not something that actually needs to be market-tested.

The Voyo-exclusive Romanian dub of Garfield and Friends goes on with the second season now being relased. I was afraid they will forget about the show after only one season.

As someone who's Portuguese, it just bugs me again that we lost. I wanted Portugal to win this time because this is Ronaldo's last, but no, we think Ronaldo has devolved significantly, and we lost against Spain.
Fowler's Sonic the Hedgehog > Bay's  Transformers. There, I said it.
Conflicted about the upcoming film adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone, given the creator now distancing herself from it despite co-writing the screenplay and blocking one of the actresses on social media despite defending her casting in the film.
