It's time to catch up with the latest adventure featuring those fashionable fairies, now sophomores, at Alfea. Season 2 of the Winx Club is rolling towards its end, and Darkar has all four pieces of the Codex! Two new episodes back-to-back every week!

[Darcy]

My thoughts (tweaked from the LJ version):

Amentia: I still love Amentia. She's made a complete turnaround in my book, from suck to rock.

Dark Bloom: She's still adorable, but she's not doing anything. She was way better before.

The Trix: They should never have given their power to the monsters, but instead tried to kick Darkar butt. They've been rather diminished this season. I hope if they return anytime in the future, they take orders from no one.

The boys: Are pretty cool in this ep. Helia gets points for his rescue. Sky loses a couple for showing off, but overall, they all did well.

Chatta: Excellent episode for Chatta! She's definitely my fave main pixie now. Zing's still up there, too, but she's not a main pixie.

Lockette: Sucks. Someone slap her.

Darkar: Points for zapping Icy. She needs to get taken down a peg every now and then. No points for posturing. Shut up and do it already!

Stella/Brandon: The best canon couple hands down. They're the most realistic. Their relationship did not move too quickly and they're totally made for each other.

Tecna/Timmy: They've grown on me a lot since Timmy has stepped up. They don't feel as forced anymore, though I still find Tecna's smoothness with romance to be out of character for her. She was supposed to be the most emotionless character, so it seems like it was too easy for her, even though she did struggle some.

Musa/Riven: Now that Riven is being more vocal, this couple works. They're taking it very slow, which is good, since both of them needed time to open up. They've got a chance now.

Flora/Helia: WORST couple by far. They're moving WAY too fast. At this rate, Flora's gonna be pregnant by the middle of next season.

Teachers: ROCK. It's about time some adults helped out! The fate of the world should not be in the hands of sophomore fairies and junior Specialists.

Questions Raised:
-The markings on the pixies faces, what are they? Lockette's change color, so it seems makeup would be the best answer, but why would Digit wear makeup? It's so out of character for her.

-How strong is Helia anyway? He wrangled an entire ship!

-Were there two Red Wings? Because I don't know how they could have repaired Sky's damaged one so quickly and one definitely appeared and zapped some monsters after Helia's rescue.

-Why didn't super-hearing Musa hear what Stella heard?

-Where is Concorda? She's a pixie elder, too.

Overall, a good episode. I enjoyed last week's a bit more. I'm just not into this romance stuff. I'm old enough to know how unrealistic this sweet and smooth crap is. This may work for kids and daydreamy teenagers, but not a 27-year-old who's been through some romantic hell. It makes sense that this is the weakest ep of the finale though. It started strong and it ends strong, so the weak part is in the middle.

Flora/Helia: WORST couple by far. They're moving WAY too fast. At this rate, Flora's gonna be pregnant by the middle of next season.

Well they do have to "plan for their future"

Yes but the episode didn't have her as the star like it did when Dark Bloom first appeared.

It was sorta annoying how Dark Bloom didn't say anything... I would have liked to see her gloat to the Trix and be mean!

Aren't all four Pixie Elders there including the 'queen' of Pixie Village?

And yes there was two Redwings in the ship's bay, you see it when Sky goes to his Redwing.

There was a lot of action in that ep, it was cool.

I can't say much more, Darcy pointed out all I could say about it more bonus point for Timmy, he's learning romance fast hehehe.

Not in this episode. Only Athena (Red Fountain's pixie), Discorda (Cloud Tower's) and Ninfea (the leader of Pixie Village) are shown. Concorda (Alfea's pixie) does not appear until the next episode, but they act like she was there the entire time, hence the weirdness.

No, she's not.

In "Storming":
-When the teachers first appear and Griffin is firing on Kerbog, Athena, Discorda and Ninfea float behind them. No Concorda.
-As they touch down to the ground, it's these same three.
-Close up on the teachers, same three elders.
-"Take the pixie elders with you." Still only Athena, Discorda and Ninfea.
-Just before the teachers get hit, same three.
Then the teachers hit the floor and the episode ends. Concorda is not in this episode. She doesn't appear until the get into Darkar's chamber where they open the portal.

[Freedom Fighter]

- Immediately from the start, we've got players staying behind to fight one wave while the others move on. It's nice because everyone gets their fair share of enemies to fight, though where each faction drops off suggests where the 'chain of command' flows through, so to speak.
- Lockette freaking out in the ship was funny, but overall... that comedic timing leaves little to be desired, especially with her freaked out about Bloom's fate.
- Speaking of fates, seeing the Trix get played by Darkar like that was sad. He played them for saps. That's a bad thing, especially since Darkar never made much of a believable villain at all.
- Helia pulling in Sky's Redwing to safety was awesome! Who knew the art student had it in him?
- Back to comedic timing, and this time a situation that works! Amentia telling her troops it's time to fall back. Girl, they're already halfway back to Downland!
- Layla and Stella teaming up for a successful convergence attack... now that's how it's done, ladies and gentlemen... two veterans doing their jobs!
- Time for the cheesy romantic 'goodbye for now, hopefully not forever' lines. Best part of the sequence: Riven opening up and telling Musa he wouldn't know what he'd do if she didn't come back. Riven's always been my favorite of the boys because he was different, he didn't like the girls at first, and he had to be strong one. Things have definitely changed in Season Two in his attitude, but this moment clearly solidifies the fact that the change was well worth it. Yeah for Riven & Musa! (Then again, they were overdue given the growth the other pairings have had.)

7.5 out of 10 for "Storming Shadowhaunt."

Ok, here are my comments for Part 2 of the big 3-part season finale:

1. The Winx girls and boys of RF had no trouble getting in, thanks to Amentia and her troops.

2. I thought the boys did a good job of beating some of the monsters. That is, until the Trix gave the monsters a power boost. At least, it drained the Trix of their Gloomix magic.

3. For the first time (and probably, the last time), I actually felt sorry for the Trix when Darkar gave them "the big heave-ho!"

4. I was on the edge of my seat when Helia was helping Sky land safely in the carrier! WAY TO GO, HELIA!!!

5. I liked when Timmy didn't want Tecna to stay out and battle too long, mainly because he cared about her a lot.

6. The Winx girls did an awesome job creating convergence with their Charmix powers!

7. I actually cried a little when the Winx girls and the boys embracedly said good-bye to each other, when the boys stayed outside to fight the monsters when the Winx girls went into Darkar's palace to try to rescue Bloom.

8. Oh, I absolutely loved when Helia & Flora kissed!

9. Oh boy, while Darkar & Dark Bloom enter Realix, the Winx girls have to deal with the "Shadowhaunt guardian!" Sadly, none of their powers had any effect on it!!! What's worse is: not even Miss Faragonda, Codatorta, & Miss Griffin could stop it either!!!

This was a totally breathtaking ep! I give this 5 stars!!!

It was a pretty good eposide though I feel that it was rushed and some scenes were taken out. though the Goodbye scene was kinda of corny to me.
