Honestly, the final season of My Hero Academia has been way better than I expected. The pacing feels tighter, the animation quality is consistently strong, and the emotional weight finally matches the stakes the show has been building toward for years. It’s one of those seasons where you can tell the creators really wanted to end things properly instead of dragging it out.

Even without getting into plot details, I can say this: if you’ve stuck with the series this far, the payoff feels worth it. It’s intense, focused, and surprisingly heartfelt in all the right ways.

Episode 11 "My Hero Academia" - December 13, 2025 (Series Finale)
How has the world changed in the eight years since Izuku and the heroes defeated All For One and Shigaraki?

Note: Those in Japan can go watch the series finale in theaters as it airs!

Maybe I am just jumping to conclusion, did they just announce a spinoff series at the every end called Go Beyond? It is not like there isn't anything to adapt with bonus OVA chapters and other spinoff material. They could do more if they wanted to.

Wow, we finally reached the end. I'll admit that I did tear up when it looked like another Shigaraki situation was developing until the old lady stepped in and told the kid that he wasn't alone. Everyone got a happy ending, which was nice to see.

Overall, I enjoyed my time watching MHA. It's not my favorite Jump or anime series overall but I would definitely recommend the show for someone who wants to dip their toes into shonen anime for the first time. Gonna miss watching it.

The old lady redeemed herself. :)

So there was a timeskip. 8 years and everyone's still the same. Neat seeing who went independent, who started their own agencies, went into R&D, does counseling, does rights issues, and makes sense in retrospect Midoriya became a teacher (but goes too easy on his students lol). That was really heartwarming they all pitched in to make a Deku armor similar to what All Might used. Tsuyu was even cuter in her new tree frog suit. :D

Yeah, did wonder if that last line is just a final bow and the story continues kind of ending or if they're teasing another movie. Still, a solid final season after some meandering and a fine message about heroism.

edit: Oh yeah, and Midoriya's dad remains an insignificant mystery. :P

"My Hero Academia: “Epilogue: The Hellish Todoroki Family: Final” Episode 168 Recap"

My-Hero-Academia-Episode-168-But-Why-Tho-1.webp

"Despite this week’s dub episode title implying a focus on Todoroki, this episode only focused on the Todoroki drama for the last couple of minutes, instead this episode focused on a whole bunch of other aspects of the epilogue and wrapped up quite a few plot points. Without further ado, let’s recap what happened.

The episode begins by cutting to the weather lady in Washington giving the forecasts. She forecasts winds, the winds of change. We cut to Japan after the big battle and heroes attempting to repair the massive damage caused by the big battle. Without quirks, this would all take a decade, but everyone has quirks.

We then cut to the hospital and learn that Bakugo has lost the use of his arm, which means he can’t use his quirk anymore. Despite this, he believes that intense physical therapy might be able to help him salvage his situation. He goes and visits Midoriya and overhears the big news about Midoriya that he has lost his quirk forever. Bakugo is devastated that his rival/friend had such a fate. Despite losing his quirk, Midoriya claims he can still feel “an ember” of One for All, a possible sign of hope that he can maintain his powers. Midoriya and All Might discuss the sacrifice and Midoriya thinks about how he reached out to Shigaraki."

"My Hero Academia: “The Girl Who Loves Smiles” Episode 169 Recap"

My-Hero-Academia-Episode-169-But-Why-Tho-1.webp

"In this penultimate dub episode of the final season, lots of crying by both the characters and audience ensue. Without further ado, let’s recap all the sadness.

Okay, the episode begins with a happy note of Gentle and La Brava embracing as they are granted a pardon for helping with the final battle. We find out that Lady Nagant has also been granted a pardon, but she chooses not to take advantage of it. We see a now armless Overhaul weep furiously after all the trauma he received from this final battle as he gets a massive beratement for how horrible of a person he is.

A crowd is interviewed about their thoughts on Shigaraki after his final defeat. Most people seem to think of him as the creep that almost destroyed Japan. Midoriya comes to visit Spinner and give him his message. The prison guards announce that Spinner has been in the process of transforming into a Nomu, but they are trying to treat his condition. Spinner is furious and thinks of Midoriya as a murderer because Shigaraki died in the final battle. Midoriya spread Shigaraki’s message and said that it was intended for Spinner and Spinner alone, indicating that the two characters had a special bond. Spinner breaks down into tears and explains how Shigaraki accepted him even though he was a heteromorph. Midoriya says that he still remembers what the League of Villains did in a firm tone."

"My Hero Academia: “My Hero Academia” Episode 170 Recap *Season Finale*"

"This is the second to last episode (with May being the finale) and we see what becomes of Class-1A. What a ride this season and series has been. So without further ado, let’s recap this episode.

The episode begins with Hawks discussing the goals of expanding the hero ranking system and a discussion of the state of hero society in general. By expanding the rankings, superheroes who do more mundane tasks could get credit they wouldn’t ordinarily receive. We see a young boy who is hunted down for having an undesirable quirk that appears to be similar to Shigaraki’s decay quirk, but a kind old woman helps him. We have yet another montage of heroes rebuilding society after the villains rampaged it. A member of the League of Villains wrote a best selling book about his involvement in the incident."

Ok, that was a very sweet epilogue. Uraraka and Deku finally confess their feelings for each other and the spirit of Toga can move on. Happy to see everyone grown up.

I'm glad they decided to adapt this as it was the better epilogue than the season 8 finale's, imo.

Heh heh, Bakugo dropping in rank was inevitable. That was... Bakugo can always surprise you, implicitly inviting Deku to join his agency.

Had a feeling Uraraka was going to focus on work post-UA.

The peach tree. rofl. This guy is so the #1 hero after AFO's defeat that we all needed.

Also, Mineta was so getting that super #108 low ranking. :)

Ok, that was a very sweet epilogue. Uraraka and Deku finally confess their feelings for each other and the spirit of Toga can move on. Happy to see everyone grown up.
It was funny that even Ghost Toga saw what was up.

I also chuckled at how protective Bakugo was of his new car's interior both times. We've all been there. :D

Welp, next (and for final for real this time) epilogue is coming out this summer some time.

"We're peach tree people. It's what we do". -Lemillion

Toga got sick of waiting and shoved Ochako, valid

Hope Bakugo can conquer his loneliness

"My Hero Academia Special: “More” Episode Recap"

My-Hero-Academia-More-Handshake.jpg

"This week, we got a special epilogue episode of My Hero Academia featuring the cast as adults. This was a fun romp with beloved characters, but the final twist in the end will be very controversial with fans. So without further ado, let’s recap the episode.

The episode begins with Ochako having dreams of Toga. The latter’s death is still greatly upsetting the former. Now adult Ochako is a Quirk counselor and helps children control their quirks. Other Quirk counselors include Togata, Tsuyu, and Nejire. They are now wearing slightly modified outfits now that they are adults. Togata uses his phasing powers and challenges the kids to try to hit him. Ochako helps a kid by floating him and doing a surprise attack. The kids laugh and the Quirk counselors are enjoying their time together."

Not watching the show, but read the article, and....

Maybe it's a Japanese culture thing? I wonder how Japanese audience view that final scene? A good Hollywood movie/tv show has the duo kiss or hug.....maybe a "handshake" felt right to a Japanese audience?

EDIT: Fixed spelling errors that bugged me.

Yeah, usually PDA like hugging or kissing isn't done in Japan, for the most part, and instead a handshake or hand holding is done. But in this case, it doubles as symbolism - the show's been about people reaching out and connecting with each other, being seen, and when some don't have that connection.

Adult Ochaco is a thing of beauty! Even as she dreams of Himiko Toga...and not in a creepy way, mind you! Although now as an adult Ochaco is one of those business ladies who gets their own office but falls asleep on her desk in her costume.

But her work with Quirk Counseling is super important and emotionally validating, especially when she brings the Big Three (Congrats on making it to the Top 10 and growing your hair back Nejire!) and Lemillion is a big hit with the kids! Even if it means putting his "peach" on the line! But is her work and her friends all Ochaco really wants in life?

Meanwhile Bakugo is driving with the boys in his All Might car and Deku is enjoying sinking into the cushioning in the back seat. Just the kind of swanky ride you would expect from a former #5 now #15! Who is still tsundere about wanting one of his oldest friends to come work with him, which only his best bro Kirishima can see through! But y'know, I hope Kirishima can find a sidekick! Fat Gum may be in orange now, but his experience Fat Gum means he'd be a great mentor! Bakugo would just need a sidekick who can match his explosive and commanding personality.

Deku, like Ochaco, feels validated in his work as both a hero and teacher, but is that all that's in his life? Is there anything else he wants in life? Has he been this ideal, friendly, hero who gets along with nearly everyone so much that he could miss that special someone?

Imagine having Himiko Toga's blood in you so her consciousness is still seeping through your body like the yuri equivalent of One For All!

Congratulations on being the new #2 Shoto! And for looking so handsome, happy, and at peace with himself (when he's not feeling disheartened his friends only wanted to find an excuse to party)! You're doing better than #108 Mineta! But look at how great Tentacole is at #9!

Adult Mina, Jiro and Yayo-Momo! Time-skip Mt. Lady who FINALLY made it to the Top 10 as she deserves (Kamui Woods you lucky man in every way)! Mirko is still in the Top 10 with her destructive robot arms! Ryukyu aged like fine wine! Tokage went blonde! Adult Camie!!!

Okay, that's great for Kinoko and Kuroiro...BUT DON'T BE KILLING MY DENKIJIRO SHIP!!! THOSE TWO HAVE TOO MUCH GREAT CHEMISTRY TO NOT BE LYING OUT OF THEIR TEETH ABOUT BEING A COUPLE!!!

Imagine you're carjackers and you get THE ENTIRE TITANS ROSTER COMING AFTER YOU. They only needed four of them, but still! Guys' just wanted to feel included in the final episode.

Look at Tenya Iida with his nanocostume! Though it's still weird seeing Yayo-Momo's suit without exposed cleavage.

As the former Class 1-A all see each other off (and Kirishima and Mina share a single brain cell), Ochaco reflects on her life up to this point and how, despite realizing she was in love with Deku, she just kept finding excuses never to act on her feelings even after confessing them to Himiko...even though, being around Deku again, it's clear those feelings never faded away. And, as luck would have it, it seems like Deku has finally realized HIS feelings for her and how she stands above all their friends! A perfect excuse to "talk" more with Himiko's approval! You can be a great hero, a great teacher, a great counselor, AND experience romance! Just look at that beautiful handholding!
