It's time to catch up with the latest adventure featuring those fashionable fairies, now sophomores, at Alfea. Season 2 of the Winx Club is rolling towards its end, and Darkar has all four pieces of the Codex! Two new episodes back-to-back every week!

Last Week: #145 "Shadows in Bloom" Talkback #146 "The First Charmix" Talkback
This Week (2 of 2): #148 "Last Resorts"
Premieres Saturday, February 25 at 10 am
Summary: Bloom and the gang must battle the witches without the use of their Winx.
Also This Week: #147 "Trouble in Paradise" Talkback - Airs at 9:30 am
No suffocation, no bleeding, and you should care if you cut your arm bleeding. Just not during the show... it's bad etiquette, as Tune would say. So don't be a nerd like Timmy (as he said in the preview), do make sure you're healthy and don't forget to review this episode!

Timmy shines! Awesome how he finally is able to impress Tenca in doing what he does best. Using everyone's abilities to get the plan in motion was great!

I don't know if I missed that part, but when did the guys change into their uniforms? Didn't the last episode end as a cliff-hanger, animals on one side and a cliff on the other? When did the guys change?

Best line = Riven when he said: animals get captured, "Sweet," then Darcy gets the net off, "Not Sweet!"

Best scenes = Sky making fly-bys at Stormy and knocking her animal down! Helia showing up in the ship to blast the witches and save everyone! :anime:

Here are my comments:

1. When we last left off, the Winx girls & the boys of RF were trapped on a cliffside with angry creatures closing in!:eek: Well, I'm very glad Timmy & Riven used their logic to help everyone escape; by stepping over those invisible wires and setting nets for those creatures, I mean.:D

2. I felt very sorry for Layla when she fell down that cliff after battling that blue troll and then being alone in the cave.:( Then, I liked when she got her Charmix because she realized she had to go help her friends instead of feeling depressed about herself.:)

3. I really enjoyed the big battle of the Red Fountain boys vs. the Trix & the creatures. I was impressed of them using their brains as well as brawn.:D :D :D

4. Oh, here's my favorite dialogue in this ep:
Stella(being carried off by the big bird): Drop me! NO, DON'T DROP ME!!!:p
Timmy(when the Trix were chasing him): Come on, what's wrong with you witches?! You can't catch a little nerd on the run like me?:p :D

5. I'm glad Helia showed up in time when the Trix had Sky, Timmy, & Riven cornered!:sweat: :D

6. It was great that Tecna got her Charmix when she was worried about and thought he was badly hurt.:anime: After all this time, they finally made up. I don't care what anyone says, they were meant for each other!:anime: :D

7. The only downside of this ep was Flora, who unfortunately didn't get her Charmix.:sad: :( She'll always be my favorite Winx girl, but as of this moment I pretty much agree with everyone else that she does need a "reality check.":( If she hadn't been so shy when Helia offered her to stick around with him for a while, she could've had her Charmix too when the others already got theirs.:( My fave girl needs to stop it with the shyness and "just go for it.":(

I still thought this was a great ep! The boys of RF really had style and the dialogue was great! I give it 5 stars! I really liked this 3-part ep!:D

Yeah, when did the boys change into their uniforms? Don't think that one can be blamed on 4Kids. It seems like something the original would have left out, too. Guess we can chalk it up to another glitch. It's happened before in season one, when Riven is suddenly in his casual clothes in Cloud Tower when he joins up with Bloom, Stella, Sky, Brandon and Knut or in "Date with Disaster" when the witches grab Stella in her date dress yet the Winx rescue her in her green top and orange skirt. Ah, continuity. Is it really so hard?

I loved the "Sweet/Not Sweet" part, too, but my fave moment was the witches giving the boys their choice of end. Darcy finally did that pose she often appeared in for early Darcy art.

This was a more enjoyable ep than the previous one, though neither really engaged me. I did like Timmy in this episode and actually Helia, too, though I'm not a big fan of either. Even Flora didn't annoy me that much. So good episode for no annoyances. And more Charmix!

I'm looking forward to the beginning of the 3-part finale next week, though it makes me wonder if it will be the next episode or the last episode that isn't a part of the finale. Four eps left, only three in the finale. One of them has to be something else.

I'm with you on all parts. Finally saw Darcy's famous pose! YES!

Is it possible there will be a 3-part season finale, and then a final grand finale? With 4 episodes left, I think 4Kids goofed on this promo. However, the action in the new promo for the episode "Darkness and Light" showed a lot of special effects and great scenes to come!!!

Darcy makes a good point (and I won't blame 4Kids editing this time).

Having just watched the DWD ep last night, I thought that fake Stella came back to get real Stella's casual outfit to put on real Stella, before returning later in the day to return her date outfit to her wardrobe, and start looking for the ring. Then I thought: Why would Darcy go through all that trouble?

^ Viper channeling Chatta :)

But it does bring up a point. Bar Layla who doesn't have a BF, why does Stella's Charmix have nothing to do with her BF, and everyone else's so far does? And why the fudge is Flora flaking on Helia, anyway?

Did Bloom's? I thought hers was more about her successfully pulling everyone together to work without arguing and succeed.

As far as the others go, Stella and Brandon have the most stable relationship, so hers didn't have to be about him. Relationships seem difficult for Tecna, so her getting her Charmix for growing as a person was good. Same with Musa, though we've seen more boy angst for Tecna than Musa. Actually, all of them have to do with relationships. Bloom's and Layla's concern relationships with all their friends, Stella's her friendship with Layla, and Musa's and Tecna's are about their boyfriends. Flora's...well, we'll see, but I think we can guess how she gets it.

Honestly, I think Musa should have earned a Charmix for "Magic in My Heart." She did a lot more there: performing in front of a crowd, being true to herself despite her father's threat, honoring her mother, bringing their family back together in a way, and of course, beating Stormy.

It's possibly an original story concept may have mentioned a fairy had to be bonded wiht a pixie for "x" amount of time before a Charmix was possible. If this hypothesis is possible, it may explain in the timeline why Musa didn't receive hers in that episode, but Darcy I'm with you on your comment. I think Musa shined the most in that moment as well. Accepting her family tragedy and proving to her father she belonged at Alfea was a very touching and memorable event, worthy of earning a Charmix (IMO)!

What pose was that? I was watching pokemon when this was on.

And about that... shouldn't Musa have at least tried to bring up the fact she gets her powers from music to dad? I mean, he'd understand, right?

I'll agree that Timmy definitely shines in this episode, especially his plan and use of tactics... something we don't see much in this show. And this plan was nothing like we had seen. Fun to watch and a lot of trickery, as opposed to a head-on attack like we'd normally expect from the Red Fountain boys.

We're seeing a lot of character growth here in the latter stages of Season Two, especially with the girls quickly earning their Charmix. To be honest, I'm glad they didn't follow the Sailor Moon routine and give the girls one episode apiece to get them.

Heh, made a comment about Helia last week and here he shows up this week to save the day. In terms of public opinion, though, don't think he improved his popularity or stature with Flora at all.

7.5 out of 10 for "Last Resorts."

The pose where Darcy puts her fingers/hands over her eyes in an upside down V! It was when the 3 witches were in the wooden structure near the end before Helia shows up.

There was quite a few of funny quotes in these last 2 episodes. Can't remember the best one. I had one but i couldn't remember what it was. It wasn't the sweet/not sweet one though. I'll remember it later.

As for the 3 part finale, they said (and I quote) "Its part 1 of an all-new 3-part season finale of The Winx Club... Next week". What if the first episode was just a normal episode but the 2nd episode was the first part of the 3-part finale? That would make more sense wouldn't it? They didnt exactly mention that the VERY next episode was the start of it, they only said next week. And we know there's gonna be 2 episodes.

Now for my question. Anyone have any idea exactly what this Realix is? and what kind of power it is? Everytime Darkar mentions 'Realix', I think 'Real World'.

mmmmm... Swimsuits...... droolage....

Of course, it's kind of different when you have 26 episodes per season to do this type of progression as opposed to 46 episodes per season that Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon had during most of its five-season run.

Guess Timmy likes being a nerd. Sure seemed to embrace his own nerd-dom when tempting the witches to chase after him. I also liked his teasing Tecna about her crying being illogical... Tecna would say that, wouldn't she ;)?

On one hand, it's surprising that Flora will be the last to get her Charmix, since she isn't one of the less popular characters on the show. I don't think it's any big mystery what she'll have to do to get is, is it?

I also really enjoyed Piff's non-stop babble before the first commercial break, just poota-toop a lot or something, when she was worried about Layla. That was just really cute!

And all of the part with Stella being taken away by that flying creature, great Stella there :D!

First things first. I really don't think Flora blew it with Helia. She WAS slow in picking up on the fact that Helia was flirting with her quite heavily, but she set him up PERFECTALLY for him to ask her out with "Have fun, and tell me about all the neat things you find!" If Helia was smart, his next line would have been somewhere along the lines of "Come with me, and let's find them together!" It MIGHT have taken Helia another exchange if he got nervous, but I'm sure if they kept going, Helia would have made the first move, Flora would have been satisfied with Helia making the first move, everybody would have won. Instead, Riven and Sky interupted with childish snickering which friggen KILLED Helia's macking. And of course, embarrassed Flora. So I honestly feel Riven and Sky blew it. Flora would have eventually warmed up, and things would have worked out.

Also, I'm typically not one to laugh at other people's misfortune. Seriously, I was saw a guy slip and fall at work. I didn't laugh, but asked if he was ok, and extended my hand to help him up. But seeing Chatta try to bounce on the poofing flowers and end up doing a total face plant had me laughing hysterically. I was rewinding and laughing over and over. I could probably end up laughing at that all damn night.

I did too! Here's her quotes acording to my closed captions. It didn't capture her high-speed freak out in the begining, though.

Piff: Pa patoota pa.

Piff: Papa patoota papopo!

Ok, question. Why was Layla freaking out so badly in the cave? It was HER choice to go in there! And then she decides she doesn't like being in there, but freaks out and says she's stuck! Having her realize her friends need her, got her the Charmix, which provided a means to get out. But Layla typically is much more level headed than that.

Techna's @ shirt was great. Far and away my favorite outfit of the episode.

This episode rocked harder than a Machine Head concert with general admission. That's DAMN hard.

Poll guessing game!
5 = DBZ
4 = Voltron
3 = Chobits?
2 = No clue.
1 = Uhhh....I know I've seen that.
0 = FLCL (THANK you Freedom Fighter!)

^ (Kinda reminds me of eilonwe's reaction to Musa and Flora's reaction to Brandon/Stella in 1x24)

So basically, this means Flora might end up flaunting the rule she'd mentioned in 2x13. Wonder how they'll handle that? (From what I've read, this "rule" is not part of the original.)

Heh. Yeah, it does. I thought this was funnier though and didn't get annoyed with it. Probably because I really enjoy seeing Flora fail and get laughed at. Helia, too. Watching them struggle amuses me a lot, because they're just so pathetic. They both need to step it up and get realistic. Granted, their entire situation is unrealistic. "OMG I love you after talking to you for 5.7 minutes." Whatever. They're my least favorite canon pairing by far.

On Flora/Helia:

I guess F/H makes Timmy/Tecna look less forced, eh? Besides, at least with T/T, you get a pair of nerds, just like TAR9's Dave and Lori. (Hmmm, Lori even shares Darcy/eilonwe's first name.)

And speaking of Timmy: His plan appears to go off flawlessly, yet must have failed somewhere since the witches still manage to escape. Flashback to 1x10: The Trix's plan appears to go off flawlessly, yet must have failed somewhere since the witches still don't have the Dragon Fire. (Okay, it's not really a parallel, but hey!)
