Hmmm, that article says that they haven't found the second vehicle identified to the sniper. Maybe there is another person involved....
The other vehicles were reported to belong to some of Malvo's girlfriends last night, and that he might be using them.
I'm going to go back over what I've said about this:
Not to freak people out more, but I had a thought listening to the radio. You know how the police keep closing down roads and highways around the areas like right after shootings happen? And this person still eludes them? Could he be a police officer?
He isn't a cop. But somehow I figured he would be someone who knew certain procedures, and knew how to work around them.
There's nothing special about this one. He just kills. His messages mean nothing, he has no agenda, so to speak (supposedly). He just kills. And there's no art in that.
ANYONE can do what he's doing. Yes, anyone. It's not hard to hide and pick people off. It's a little hard to escape the scene without detection, but with discipline and training, it can be done.
It looks like he isn't as smart as most people thought. Matter of fact, he looks fairly stupid right now.
Which brings up another point. I don't think he's had extensive training. I do still believe he could be a cop, or have had some kind of military training, but I don't think this is a "professional" sniper.
And we've been told that he isn't, that he had something called "combat backup" training or something.
I've got to believe it's about more then murder. And as Chief Moose has remarked, the sniper has indicated that it's about more then violence. From the sniper's actions so far, I believe part of it is a message about fear. Here in America, we used to live without it for the most part, while in some countries, this atmosphere is a normal thing. Could this be a message for the public from the sniper? We aren't safe? I think the fact that their notes emphasize the fact that the children aren't safe, ect, point to yes.
This is going to end up being one of the reasons this all happened.
To those who are bashing the cops and their handling of this sniper investigation.
Do better.
You have no idea how much stress and pressure these people are under. They aren't chasing a stupid teenager. They're investigating someone who has planned this. Someone who has studied police methods. Someone who could have access to their scanners. Someone who might not be a genius, but is SMART, and determined.
There are hundreds of men and women around the country working on this, day and night. You think they aren't TRYING? That somewhere someone's being lazy, and that's why this person is slipping through their fingers?
I'm loving all the newspeople that are eating their words about "botched investigation", ect right now, as it looks like these two just might be the ones.
A few thoughts on this investigation:
It looks like the press knew about A LOT of this, including the investigations, well ahead of time. And no one said a thing. That's impressive.
The press conference, when they might have had the names, was cancelled, and then the names were released at night. At a time when the two men must not have been watching TV. Could, in fact, have been sleeping. Law enforcement officials released the information at just the right time. And since the two men didn't see it, they didn't run. Brilliant.
I can't believe that so much has been made about this "ingenius trap door/hole" in the car. That's actually fairly idiotic. For one thing, if you get caught, that's hard evidence. A professional sniper would not do something like that. A professional would choose a spot, set up, do his job, and leave.
There will be good things that come of this. I've got to believe that this will serve as a bit of a deterrent for some of the violent crimes that might have been committed.
