"Scooby-Doo - Mystery, Inc." News & Discussion Thread

I heard episode 10 is not until late October/early November, I hope its not that long.:ack:

Hope its true, in October would fit perfect for Scooby, i would say in 31st but it falls on sunday :( still can't wait if its on October or November .....crosses fingers.

Looking at the schedule, it seems as if they are going to start from episode 1 again and then lead all the way back up to episode 10. So once Battle of the Hum___ reairs in natural order we will get a new episode. So episode 10 should air around Oct.25 or November 1. And they will probably finish up to episode 13 through the end of November/beginning of December.

So we are expecting to see new episodes until November 15 then, wanted to be in October but November still good :)

I would say episode 10 would air around the last week of October/Beginning of November. Unless they count the Scooby movie as part of the schedule then probably mid November then. And take December/January or Dec-Feb off.

....then why are you on this thread?....
Hey, just because I don't watch the show anymore and think it's awful, it doesn't mean I'm not interested in news & speculations about it. :)

Seriously Ranting you're being a bit nagging on the whole Velma and Fred,
Yeah, noticed a while ago that SDMI seriously brings out the worst in me. Despite my username I'm usually a pretty nice and less annoying person, but this show just pushes all my wrong buttons.

Wow! I didn't know the show was going into reruns. They did good airing nine episodes in a row. So we'll have to wait until October to find out what happens with this Velma/Shaggy/Scooby thing. It might be hard to take the suspense. Lol.

Could the "very special" episode 14 possibly feature appearances by Scooby Dum and/or Scooby Dee? I love Scooby Dum.

I agree with the poster who thought Josie and the Pussycats would be a good guest appearance. That would not only make the HB universe a little smaller, but could set up for an update Josie spin-off.

As long as the "very special" episode doesn't involve a guest appearance by Gordon Jump, I'm excited for it...

Odd choice. However, you're safe - Jump passed away in 2003.

Gordon Jump starred in the quintessential "very special episode" of Diff'rent Strokes back in the 80's. A dated reference, to be sure.

That's a good idea. Since this Scooby aired in the summer, I'm not sure what they consider it in terms of air-dates and ratings. I think it will most likely come back towards the end of October, perhaps right around the time that new live-action Scooby movie comes on. Maybe pair up with that or do a Scooby-themed marathon.

Once you mentioned the connection - I remembered the ep you were referring to. Hopefully it won't be anything that damaging.

I'm hoping for at least the following themes to remaining episodes (at least those airing before 2011):

  • A Halloween episode - some would say it's redundant, given the spooky designs laid out for the show in general; but it couldn't hurt to have more silly costumes (maybe Velma will join in this time) and up the scare factor a bit.
  • If they forego Halloween, I'd love a Thanksgiving episode! Maybe a giant turkey attacks the town! It could also be a great way to talk about the town's colonial history.
  • A Chistmas episode - The last Christmas themed ep that I know of was from WNSD and quite frankly I hated it. They barely touched on the holiday and it felt like it was added in at the last minute. It was as if there was a ski episode planned at a resort and they thought, "Hey let's add Xmas decorations and make it the Xmas episode!". I want to see Christmas come to Crystal Cove - I don't mind if they rip off the usual themes ("It's a Wonderful Life", "A Christmas Carol", et al) as long as the spirit of the holiday comes through. They could also use it to introduce other family members (Forget Scooby Dum! I want to see "Uncle Nat"!!) If they make it an hour long ep, I'd consider it a bonus!
  • An episode about Fred's mom - just so we know what her status is.
  • Maybe another ep with the Rogers family and their dynamic (we really haven't seen them since the Gatorsburg ep). Maybe we'll find out where the name, "Norville" came from.
  • An episode in which Shaggy grows a spine and finally has a heart to heart with Scooby & Velma - and they can patch up their differences.
  • An episode showing the gang earlier in their childhoods - maybe showing how they met (I know this was done in the live action prequel, but this series indicates the gang knew each other since 8th grade if not earlier).

A halloween episode would be awesome to watch and i would go more for the Thanksgiving episode than a Christmas episode of course lets see if they make it interesting. When you mention Thanksgiving i kinda pic Eli Roth's fake trailer movie from Grindhouse, of course without the gore and you know the rest.

An episode showing them how they met for the first would be nice if the gang are about to split up and remember the good old days so they can see they work well as a team.

I guess I can wait until October XD. A halloween episode would be awesome.:anime:

So what happened to the scooby snacks in this serious?

So what happened to the scooby snacks in this serious?
We have seen scooby snacks but doesn't have an important role yet in the show. I don't remember but i think the guys from the show mention that the scooby snacks will show up more often in later episodes.

Well they said this
My other son wants to know: “Hey, where are the Scooby Snacks?”
They’re around, just not as prominent. We mentioned them in the first episode, and they reappear in Episode 14, which is a very special episode for the fans. Other than that, Scooby Snacks have kind of been replaced by clams in this series.

So the snacks are appearing in the special fan episode, maybe they will be plot important?

I didn't click the link, because TV Tropes is one of the other things that I can't stand to the point of becoming an annoying jerk when talking about what I dislike about it.
(Now just don't mention Quentin Tarantino either and we are okay.)
Well then you won't know what I said to you. :)

I've noticed Scooby Snacks in this series. I know Shagg and Scoob had some Scooby Snack boxes when they were watching the Van Ghoul movies.

In all honesty, I wouldn't mind seeing Scrappy-Doo and hearing about his disappearance since the 80s. Not counting the evil out-of-character Scrappy from the live action movie. I know a lot of people don't like Scrappy, but it would be nice just for one episode to see him and have him 'splain why he hasn't been around.

Its cause the majority of people don't like Scrappy. So I don't think they'll put him in.

I was never crazy about Scrappy so I hope he won't be part of this incarnation. There's no room for him anyway. We've gotten along fine without him for over 20 years!

Besides, none of the incarnations had everything in canon, so Scrappy needn't exist at all. Each incarnation exists in it's own separate world - like a multiverse!
