I figured instead of doing lengthy episode synopsis since I'm a bit behind I'll just respond to posts.
With our discussions that has been a problem across all the seasons and it seems to get worse every series. Especially since SuperS and Stars only follow the manga in broad strokes.
There was a lot of implied moments between the designer and his assistant (like the whole backrub scene) but the episode doesn't blatantly state it. Plus a huge hint was dropped when FishEyes didn't disguise his gender for this assignment even though he prefers men.
Yeah, it's not the assumption that bothers me it's more of this is one of many situations that happen in this overall season where it is played for humor but to adult fans of the show it just makes Usagi look controlling and petty in terms of her relationship.
With HawksEye disguising himself to look like the woman's dead husband it added an extra element of squick to the Amazon Trio's stalking tactics. It also made the episode feel a lot more "adult" than the usual fare.

This was one of the few episodes I felt Usagi was handled better being able to recognize that the mother was not just being abusive and being that the key to help her beat the bad guy. Also having Ikuko Itoh artwork gave the episode a few extra points.
I like how this season they put an overall lampshade on the routines of the Sailor Guardians and Tuxedo Mask. It's that type of humor Ikuhara carried over into other works where he got viewers into certain thematic scenarios only to parody them over the course of the series.
For the reasons you disliked the episode is why I loved it. It was crazy Minako coming out at full blast and it's actually hilarious how in a turn of events she's manipulating the bad guys. I even loved how she attempted to justify it in the end and even break out an original attack!
Which would be funny if it Usagi and Mamoru were written better but...sigh.
I find it funny how this episode made it obvious that Usagi and Chibi-Usa have to be tethered at the hip in order to transform. Still by focusing on a older couple and giving the old lady some nice characterization made this episode a nice watch for me.
My thing about the episode is that the "distrust" of Pegasus came out of nowhere when it seems up to this point the Sailor Guardians merely accepted that the Pegasus was their ally. It also felt like a cheap excuse to power-up the girls since in the manga each one of the girls experienced a temporary loss of power in the midst of an existential crisis (kind of like the subplot of Usagi transitioning to her R powers during the Ail and En arc). It also doesn't help that
. Don't get me wrong, I like the new designs but given how the source material and the later part of this season handled the power-up it seems rather pointless to introduce it here.
Because they have to stretch out the season as much as possible and figuring out that there's some connection between Chibi-Usa and Pegasus would force them to deal with the plot.

Was he gay? I didn't get that impression. Of course, I don't have a problem if he was gay, but I just didn't get the impression that was the case. Still, having a gay character not be a villain is nice.

It did have a terrible start with people assuming that Mamoru was cheating again. This is a terrible recurring issue that doesn't speak well of Usagi and Mamoru's relationship or how the other Guardians see Mamoru for that matter. I can understand why Ami would want to speak up because of her friendship with Usagi, but it was still jumping to a pretty huge conclusion and it's just kind of ridiculous that they'd think that Mamoru would cheat when they all know that they're married in the future and Chibi-Usa is their future daughter.

At least the rest of the episode was pretty decent. It did provide a bit more focus on Ami, which was nice, and the victim of the week stood out a bit more with her goal. It was kind of weird how she wasn't instantly caught off guard by Hawk Eye wanting to take her for a trip when they had just met, but being emotionally vulnerable and looking like her late husband would probably factor into that. Although, it was weird that not understanding a car's feeling is what made her realize that he wasn't like her late husband, instead of the whole kidnapping deal.

Episode one hundred and thirty-nine was okay. The little girl came off as nice, polite and well trained in her craft. I can understand what they were going for with her mother being tough on her, but it felt like they were going overboard with beating her in their match to the point where her daughter started to cry. I kind of liked how Usagi was slowly coming to that conclusion that there was something else going on with her methods and the line about how no mother hates her child was kind of nice.
Considering how the villains target their victims, it was kind of creepy how Tiger Eye was focusing on the dreams of a little girl. At least the fight went pretty well and it did lead to the little girl realizing what her mother was trying to teach her. It was a nice reunion between them at the end and Chibi-Usa holding Usagi's hand at the end was nice.

Fish Eye asking Usagi and Chibi-Usa if they ever felt embarrassed jumping around in their skirts with them answering no was kind of funny. It seemed like a little jab at the people who would think that they would be embarrassed by their outfits, despite how the skirts aren't that short or revealing. I was surprised with the monster at first when I thought it was the seal, but then it was the ball. I think that was the dumbest monster design in a long time. It was just too ridiculous and stupid to not laugh at, especially when it seemed to have heard Tuxedo Mask's theme before he even threw the rose. At least the fashion designer was inspired by Sailor Moon and was able to get his staff back together.

Episode one hundred and forty-one was pretty bad. On one hand, it was nice to give Minako an episode since she hasn't done much for awhile. On the other hand, she's pretty much the reason why I disliked this episode. I understand that she's wanted to find love, like pretty much all of the other Guardians, and she is a teenager, but being so thrilled about basically two-timing two guys was pretty horrible. She just came off like a completely shallow, vein and insensitive person by not even considering any of their feelings or even listening to what the others were saying. The show did acknowledge what she was doing was wrong, but I think that playing up her excitement and happiness for laughs really underminds that. Not to mention it doesn't feel like she realizes what she did was wrong, even at the end of the episode.
Admittedly, Minako trying to keep both dates going by running back and forth was kind of funny, especially Hawk Eye realizing that she wasn't with her right after the movie ended, but it wasn't enough to make her better to me. If these two guys weren't villains in disguise, then this situation would have made her look even worse since she was lying to two guys. Granted, they were using her as a means to test their skills of "winning women over," but in this case, I don't think that any of the characters involved are seen in a good light. Minako was upset over how they took advantage of her "pure feelings," but what's so pure about lying and two-timing people? You can't really claim that she's much better than the villains in this case since she was two-timing them with no intent of telling them the truth until they saw each other. Minako didn't have much moral ground to stand on and the fact that she acts like she does really bothered me.
Even at the end of the episode, she didn't seem to recognize that she did anything wrong. She was upset over how those guys took control of her feelings, but nothing about how two-timing people was wrong. It seemed like they glossed over that small detail in favor of her thinking that every person she loves leads up to the one she marries. While her chemistry with Artemis was nice, it wasn't enough to make Minako look any better. This one episode alone might be enough to make Minako my least favorite Inner Guardian instead of Ami. While Ami doesn't stand out much outside of her focused episodes and her running gag is annoying, at least she does come off as a relatively nice and friendly person. Minako has more personality, but this episode just made her look absolutely horrible to me. At least she hasn't become worse than Haruka and Michiru, but she still came off as pretty awful here.

Episode 142
Okay Usagi's jealousy issues is not completely out of control that it is cameo. Jealousy of an old lady, well she was jealousy of a child in season 2, so why not. I think now they are doing the jealousy thing as a joke.
Which would be funny if it Usagi and Mamoru were written better but...sigh.

Episode 143
Finally the Inner Guardians get some upgrade. I liked the episode, but I thought the whole make Pegasus look like a bad guy was a rehash of the episode when the Dark Kingdom had the fake Sailor Moon. It has been done.
And Fisheye targeting a little boy, these villains have no bounds, and Tigereye was calling him out on that, really? A few episodes ago he was targeting a little girl, so he has no right to talk.
I am hoping we are getting closer to wrapping the Amazon Trio arc, I am ready for the Amazoness Quartet, long ready. The Amazon Trio are not the worst villains in the world, still there act gets old very fast.
It also doesn't help that
we don't get their official new transformations and attacks until the Amazoness Quartet arc
