Old International Fox Kids/Jetix Channels Memorial Thread

Sadly, no. The network was a joint venture between Sky Italy and Fox Kids/Jetix Europe. As far as I know it was only on Sky Italy.
But I know that boing Italy was in Africa at one point is this true?

Boing France was (in Francophone Africa) but no clue about Boing Italy, if you had a satellite, you could get it for free though.

@Francisque @Two Two's can you confirm if fox kids/jetix Italy was in Africa at one point?
That would have happened if Italy established earlier in the Scramble for Africa and gained more territories, and consequently there would be a need for the African pay-TV companies to have Italian packages, DSTV launching SuperSport in Italian...

?
No, why should it have?

@Two Two's AFAIK Sky has nothing to do with Fox Kids, it didn't even exist in Italy in 2001

And no, Boing Italy wasn't available in Africa
Must of been something that happened later on, because I do remember hearing that Jetix was a joint-venture in Italy.

First time I hear of this. Outside Boing and Cartoonito (Mediaset + Turner/WBD joint venture), the other case I can think was a short (?) period in which Super! wa a De Agostini and Paramount JV'd channel. But I'm kinda hazy on the latter fact, now that I think...? So don't take that as granted.

Add this with that fact the feed is weirdly sparce of content, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Dont some Africa countries speak Italian though?

I noticed something today: Monster Buster Club, which once aired on Jetix, is now airing on Çocuk Smart in Turkey. (They've re-dubbed it into Turkish. I think the previous dub was probably deleted.)

The previous dub was most likely tied to Jetix Europe and only allowed to air on Jetix.

After Jetix, Minika GO was aired. Also, several Jetix programs (Transformers Animated and Monster Buster Club) were aired on Minika in 2011. Both programs had the same Turkish dubbing as when they aired on Jetix. In other words, there has been no change to the Turkish dub.

Years later I saw Jetix logo on TV

I think that the promo was done a bit hastily.

Here's one interesting thing: While Buena Vista International always had distribution rights to Jetix library in both EMEA (i.e. Jetix Europe territories) and rest of the world, for some reason (probably legal one?) the agreements with local terrestrial networks were always separate from the ones concerning other Disney product as noted in the following C21 Media articles:

According to this page, the classic Maya the Bee anime at once point aired on the Dutch version of Fox Kids:
No other documentation of this info can be found anywhere.
That website has a lot of mistakes. They must have mistaken Honeybee Hutch for Maya the Bee.

Maya the Bee didn't air at all on Dutch television in 1997-2004.

Probably because Disney back then was two-tier in its offering, same with their pay-TV structure, and the fact that Jetix and Disney Channel were effectively two different brands. Networks may want a volume licencing deal for Disney programming, but not Jetix programming, and vice-versa.

This is a video of a promo of the EE feed's rebranding to DC. The main reason for uploading it here was because of the description; is this true?

Also, tangentially related; did the CEE and EMEA feeds always have an English audio track when they first became Jetix, or was it eventually added into the era?

I saw Fox Kids CEE 2002 recordings in English.

In 2001, there was an interview with Kakhaber (now CEO of Disney CEE) where he said that in 1999 English was the main language for about half a year.

That explains why its shows never aired on Disney Kids on SIC.

Except Marvo the Wonder Chicken, its shorts aired there. DC PT never aired Jetix content.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
