A very uneven episode: the main story line involving "Eclipso" was good enough, but the sub-story involving Glorious Godfrey was God-awful. Random thoughts:
Interesting use of members of Flash's rogues gallery. Given that it was a commercial, obviously they were not the real villains. They were either actors portraying Flash's enemies, or fake villains created for the commercial. Given that they used lame characters, I would vote for the later. After all, using real criminals in an ad, or even actors portraying them, would be in very bad taste.
The possessed general doesn't know how to salute, but he knows how to use a computer? Uh, okay
Nice way to work in the traditional "Eclipso." "Put on a gaudy costume and threaten a lot of people." heh
Flash seems to be evolving into one of the main characters; not only is he saving the day more often, he seems to be developing a wider use of his powers. I know a lot of people will like this, but I don't. I think it was a good idea to limit the members range of powers in a team show; but J'onn, Flash and GL all continue to have their abilities evolve. Diana's lasso lacking the power of truth fell into this original narrowing of powers; unlike the others, I don't see this being rectified anytime soon, if at all.
WW to Flash: "Don't you ever shut up?" Amen
The comedy on this show, for the most part, is just awful. A few gags work, but very few and far between. They really need to just give up on this.
The Peter Lorre-ish voice of Mofear (?) seemed inappropriate and out of place.
The entire sub-plot revolving around Glorious Godfrey was dreadful. The "satire" on political demagogues was far too heavy-handed.
I'll need to view this episode again, but on first viewing this now is only slightly above "Hearts and Minds" as my least favorite episode of JL ever. S2 is shaping up to be very uneven. Some of the episodes are far better than anything produced during S1, some episodes are worse than anything from S1.
