International Disney Networks Thread Part 13

When we think things can't get any weirder:

It isn't any weirder than DC US airing Harry Potter or the endless list of movies broadcast on Disney Channel and Cinemagic in different countries throughout the years coming from different companies.

Movies are a one-off thing, at the end of the day

Shame they didn't use the more common Publicitate, which CN used for ages.

It's as if they took a bumper from the Netherlands.

DC has been using "Reclame" ever since the Jetix era in 2005. This has lasted for over 20 years, even longer than CN's use of Publicitate (2003-2016)

As long as both terms are correct in the respective language (I know that the actual word in isolation, in Romanian, is "reclamă"), it's fine

For instance, in Italian "réclame" instead of "pubblicità" is very dated and retro
While Italian, anything like that in the media is not widely used currently: it's also fallen in disuse among younger speakers, with it being barely present among middle aged people

"La réclame è finita" (the ad has ended) gives off a very 60/70s TV feeling

Italian "reclamo", instead, means "complaint, claim"

Same here. "Reclames" to me reminds me of the time when RTP was a monopoly and only aired a few hours a day. Even before the first Disney agreement they had in like 1985/1986 with Júlio Isidro hosting the first localized Disney show on Sundays (it even had DC USA elements)

Yeah right, excluding the time RTP aired the Mickey Mouse Club in the 70s, from the USA.

wasn't Disney Channel Latin America/Brazil the first ad-supported Disney Channel anywhere?
I've heard they aired outside ads as far back as the early 2000's

Don't think MENA will air it remember when the Kim Possible live-action movie came out, they didn't bother airing the animated series

Yeah, many operations are getting it back, obviously to promote the movie reboot

Since it's the last day of June, I wonder if DC France will release its July highlights. I hope it's either today or tomorrow.

It was apparently once possible to receive DC LA and PHDC Brazil in Europe. And when did DC HD Brazil start then? I thought it was in 2012 but here's proof it was around by 2010.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
