I Learned Something Today

Gillian Anderson is the only X-Files actor to be credited in every episode as well as having the most appearances from any series regular of the show, being absent in "3", "Zero Sum", "Unusual Suspects" and "Travelers" and only appearing via archive footage in "Musings of a Cigarette-Smoking Man" and "The Gift".

I just found out that Boomerang UK already started airing modern content not long after the launch in the 2000s. It had advertisers. Meanwhile other feeds were still fully classic.

There’s a retail chain in Australia called Target that has no affiliation with the American Target. It’s not even a case of being started by the American company before being sold off. It even has a similar logo.

A&W Canada used to have the same logo as their American counterpart until 1968 when they opted to go with a different logo, four years before the latter sold them to Unilever.

Nordic Combined is the only remaining male only Olympic event in the Winter games... :'(

(Learned earlier in the week)

Alyson Court, perhaps best known in the cartoon world for voicing Lydia in the Beetlejuice animated series and Jubilee in X-Men TAS, starred in The Big Comfy Couch.

Interesting given how Michael Keaton has played both movie Beetlejuice and Batman.

I saw the Camp Lazlo finale years ago, but I never realized that Heffer from Rocko's Modern Life is in it.
The green quiff and tail hairs leave no room for discussion, it's absolutely him.

In a similar situation, there's a Burger King in Mattoon, Illinois that has no relation to 1953's Burger King of Florida (known until 1954 as Insta-Burger King), predates BK by a year (founded in 1952), and thus that BK cannot operate in Mattoon

Malcolm in the Middle almost became a UPN TV series as it began development in 1998 and was set to air during the 1998-1999 TV series. However, UPN postponed development until a year later and while the pilot was shot during spring 1999, the network passed on the show before Fox came to the rescue and began airing it during the 1999-2000 TV season.

Golden Crisp (the cereal Sugar Bear "can't get enough of") is still called "Sugar Crisp" (it's original name) in Canada.

Flipping a coin to decide things (i.e., calling heads or tails) goes as far back as Ancient Rome.

Millie Bobby Brown wrote a novel, set during WWII. It's called "Ninteteen Steps" and came out in 2023:

Phil Hartman's first role was as an extra (no lines) in Cheech And Chong's Next Movie (His fellow Groundlings performers John Paragon and Paul Reubens were also in this, and it was also the first time Reubens played his Pee Wee character in a film).

I recently leaned about the tragedy of basketball player Len Bias, and that's all I will say about it.

It's been a little more than a week since the last post:

Rob Paulsen's first acting job (of any kind) was in a (live action) Jack in the Box commercial in 1979. He was the "employee spokesperson".

it wasn't until 1985 or so that he appeared in his first voice acting roles.

The comic book artist formerly known as Andrew Pepoy has come as a transgender woman, and now goes by Margeaux Pepoy (The first name is pronounced "Mar-go"):

Japanese actress Shinobu Terajima wanted to perform in Kabuki theatre when she was younger like her father Onoe Kikugorō VIII but that proved to be unlikely since said form of theatre has been all-male since 1629, though variations of the all-female original form do exist with the Takarazuka, OSK and Project Nyx troupes as well as nihon-buyō and the recent all-female version of Sailor Moon musical adaptation Sera Myu from Nelke Planning.

David Spade's first appearance on SNL was playing Michael J Fox in the infamous Andrew Dice Clay episode.

The Voyo-exclusive Romanian dub of Garfield and Friends goes on with the second season now being relased. I was afraid they will forget about the show after only one season.

As someone who's Portuguese, it just bugs me again that we lost. I wanted Portugal to win this time because this is Ronaldo's last, but no, we think Ronaldo has devolved significantly, and we lost against Spain.
Fowler's Sonic the Hedgehog > Bay's  Transformers. There, I said it.
Conflicted about the upcoming film adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone, given the creator now distancing herself from it despite co-writing the screenplay and blocking one of the actresses on social media despite defending her casting in the film.
