I come home from work today, and what do I see?

R.I.P Dwayne Mcduffie.

That's.... I....

I liked Static Shock. I didn't at first, but then I took note that there aren't too many Superhero shows with a black main character. That wasn't the best reason, but it was still good for me.

Plus he created a hero based on Anansi the Spider. That guy rocked.

This is just a punch to the stomach.

Condolences to the family, and his friends. A good man was lost today.

My co-worker emailed this to me right after I got back from buying All-Star Superman on my lunch break. It's mind-blowing and devastating. My sympathies to Mr. McDuffie's family and all those who've known and worked with him.

Shame, I actually liked his work on Static Shock, Teen Titans, and Justice League. In fact, because of him I actually discovered Static Shock. I thought he was OK writer on Ben 10 as well.

1. The loss of Dwayne McDuffie effects me as well, in ways i can't fully explain, i alway did find his shows entertaining.

2. What does this mean for Ben 10 UA and any of the other shows Dwayne was apart of?

3. I know the chances were already minor, but does this mean that some Dwayne's previously ended shows have lost any chance to come back on the air?

Very sad news, condolences to his family. Dwayne, thanks for all the incredible stories you wrote. You wrote some of my favorite JL/JLU episodes, as well as some of the episodes I thought jumped the shark. In both cases, I was always happy to see "Written by Dwayne McDuffie" at the beginning of the episode, because I knew it meant I was going to get something original, clever and unpredictable, and those are required ingredients for a story to be awesome.

I hope it is some small condolence to your family that you've moved and inspired millions of people with your artistic endeavors.

I felt a lump in my throat when I read the headline and I still can't believe it. I had just watched Crisis on Two Earths last night after having wanted to watch it again for a while.

No, seriously, WTF? This is beyond stunning and absolutely horrendous and unfair news. Dwayne McDuffie helped pioneer superhero cartoons and other quality cartoons in general towards the goals they've reached today. He also had a meaningful impact on comics.

My absolutely sincerest sympathies go out to his family, friends, coworkers and fans. His absence is a void that cannot be filled.

This is really sad news. This one hits me really hard. Not only am I a huge fan of a lot of his works, but I was fortunate enough to have met this man at a comic convention two years ago. Rest in peace.

Very sad indeed. Im shocked to hear about it. I was just on facebook and seen the news on the toonzone news feed.

I have very fond memories of Dwayne McDuffie, he used to visit the forums and discuss justice league unlimited episodes with us all back in 2004-2005. Was a shame he didn't visit the forums after a run in with a few forum members.

I love all his work from JL, JLU, static shock, teen titans and legion of superheros. McDuffie was such a great part of the DCAU - i always though of him as Bruce Timm's right hand man.

If anyone who is close to Dwayne is reading this, my heart goes out to you and his family at this very sad time.

For those not in the know, it has been released that he died as a result of complications from surgery he underwent last night. Sounds like it was simple bad luck.

Dwayne McDuffie was an incredible individual. A talented writer but also a compassionate man. He made a difference for many including myself. He's continually inspired me since I was first introduced to his work.

Dwayne, you will be missed. But you left quite a legacy and I can't thank you enough for that.

My heart jumped upon hearing this news. RIP Dwayne McDuffie. For all it's worth, Static Shock helped pass the time in middle school while JL truly soared once you stepped on board.
