Tom Kane has passed away at the age of 64.

He's had numerous voice acting roles throughout his career, but notable for this board, he was the voice of Professor Utonium and Him on The Powerpuff Girls (both the 1998 and 2016 series), and Mr. Herriman on Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. He also had several minor roles in other Cartoon Network shows including Johnny Bravo, Cow & Chicken, Ben 10, or Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

It’s really sad that Tom has passed away, and only a few days after Ted Turner passed away

The word "iconic" is overused, but Kane's voice was nothing short of that – unmistakable. I heard he had to retire from voice acting after suffering a stroke, but I did not realize it was that severe. At least he got to see Cathy Cavadini, Tara Strong, and E.G. Daily one last time at a con.

Noting some of his additional credit, he was also an announcer for some CN blocks, notably "Har Har Tharsdays" back in the Nood era.

64 is still pretty young. It's sad that a lot of people from CN pass away.

RIP. I remember imitating one of his lines "no running in the halls!", the one from Mr. Herriman in season 1 of FHFIF, when it came out here in 2005, while running in the hallway.

Test in peace.

Here's Craig McCracken's tribute to him.

R.I.P. Tom Kane

A true legend of American voice acting. Even with his career cut short by a stroke in 2022, Tom had achieved one of the most prolific resumes of any voice actor in the past 30 years. Professor Utonium was a career-defining role, and one that really anchored the Powerpuff Girls as a story that was as much about as single father trying to raise his daughters as it was a superhero comedy. His take on Yoda was astonishingly on point and every bit as good as Frank Oz's, to the point it was hard to distinguish the two performances from one another. Tom's performance as Ultron in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is my go to reference for that villain's voice. Beyond his hundreds of credits in cartoons and video games, he became one of the go to voices for narrating commercials and was a familiar voice on both radio and TV for much of the first two decades of this century.

It is a shame that he never really recovered from his health setback, but the legacy he leaves behind is big enough that it will be talked about for many years to come. Rest in Peace, Tom Kane.

Hi, welcome to Toonzone

There's something about seeing kids cry after they mess up big time that really gets to me. One can definitely feel bad for Layla.
I don't know I gonna post it but i think I may had spread the disney abandoning blue sky studios like they did with fox kids/jetix propaganda onto awinger24 and now hes fears of paramount & warner bros
Europeans right now are experiencing the same Heatwave that africans face on a daily basis lol
