Wow that's too much yellow.

I really, really want to know what made them think this was a good idea by any stretch. Because surely they HAVE to be aware of how much flack and hate they got (some of which I still consider unreasonable, but I digress) from the other ones.

And now this one comes along that I am confident won't even be successful from a financial standpoint. Any people who would be interested in this would probably get tired by the fourth or fifth day, meaning for the remainder of it CN's ratings would hit an all-time low.

Part of me strongly feels like this will be the marathon that gets them so much criticism, so little ratings that they will have no choice but to stop doing these. Heck, I wouldn't even be surprised if they abruptly ended this one midway through specifically because of how disastrous it will inevitably be.

Probably the one good thing to be said about this is the fact that, had it not been for the app and On Demand, this schedule would be much worse than it already is. Not to mention it's during a period where no show is airing new episodes, so none of them are being screwed over anyway. Either or both of these things would've genuinely made me salty.

But my point is, I'm honestly much more morbidly curious than anything. I even just made an entire thread on this matter.

This is just bonkers. I get having a popular show that you want to milk, and that's fine, and every network does it, but not like this. This is fairly unprecedented milk-titude, and to imply that other networks go off the rails as much is ludicrous. It's like comparing the H1N1 outbreak of 2009 with the H1N1 outbreak of 1918. Sure, they both suck, and they are both the same problem, but one was unarguably more catastrophic, by a large margin. I've literally seen no other network go this in on a single show before, especially when you have a show which, according to all publicly available data, is as popular if not more so than the show that does get aired a lot (Steven Universe). Again, that's according to public data, maybe their internals are different.

Hopefully, 2018 will be a breath of fresh air along with Adult Swim Jr.

Not even Nickelodeon has gotten this bad with SBSP.
Eh, I still prefer CN. At least the TTG spamming never seems to actively interfere with the success of their originals, especially given this marathon is during a lull period.

Hopefully, 2018 will be a breath of fresh air along with Adult Swim Jr.
Considering they're very clearly setting up Unikitty to be the next show to spam, it probably will be in a sense.

I still doubt Adult Swim Jr is even a real thing though. I mean, the title alone is a blatant oxymoron.

Like I said in the Boomerang News and Discussion thread, Adult Swim Jr. is just going to be their April Fools' Prank this year and nothing more. And I highly doubt that 2018 will be any better as 2015, 2016 and 2017 combined.

I honestly think it will be better. They have a lot more new shows coming out in 2018, and I get the feeling this will be the marathon that will open up CN's eyes. Sometimes you gotta hit rock bottom before you can realize you need to improve yourself.

Yeah, we can all agree that December 25-31 schedule just gave the August 1-7 schedule a run for it's money. 2018 for the network can't come any sooner.

2018 will be a year of new beginnings for the network and a large step up from the TTG rut. I just know it.

To be clear, I still stand by that - despite this schedule being absolute rock bottom - it shouldn't be used to give up on the entire company. Because there is much more to CN than just the live feed, and no matter how much the live feed may suck, CN also has digital services to fall back on.

And don't get me wrong, the schedule is awful on all sides. However, that just means PART of the company has gone down the toilet, and not quite all of it.

gotta love that out-of-nowhere Steven Universe slot. it looks like a last-minute addition as to not anger the fans as much.

Can't wait to see the numbers for this. For the sake of the network's future I hope they suck to make them realized they have crossed the line.

Would we even see the numbers? Because we usually don't for non-premieres.

But either way, yeah I'm kind of hoping they hit rock bottom too.

Hm. I thought numbers for everything get disclosed eventually? I mean, all broadcast is these days constantly monitored with on demand, dvr and catch up tv playing a role too - not just for premieres. Surely the numbers for premieres are more important, but I doubt they are the only ones available. Maybe not always publicly or for free, but they definitely exist. In this case I think it would be really useful if people came together for once and literally demanded CN to show how well the show is actually performing, because I think it would end arguments one way or another. If the numbers will be excellent then we can pretty much quit ranting, because we will be proven wrong and it will have zero effect. But if the numbers are terrible then there's chance for real change and pressuring CN into re-thinking their priorities.

You know what? I'm not even convinced this is even a business decision anymore. And no, I'm not going to accept the old chestnut of "just use the app" excuse. You know why? There isn't even enough content on the stupid thing to fill up a literal week's worth of airings.

I don't want to assume the worst, but I honestly can't think of reason they would do this beyond spite for us, literally every person who called out their lazy scheduling.

This is by far the worst thing CN US has done on a programming level, that's including all their live action shows and Johnny Test re-runs. Not even Nick "The Spongebob Network" has ever been this bad.

And no, I'm not going to use the app or watch it on Hulu, because I'm that mad right now. This is shameful and I can only hope their New Years Day thing is better for Unikitty, but I wouldn't bet money on that.

I mean, I legit don't see why they would cave in and give us the numbers, since they are under no obligation whatsoever to do so, but at least getting to see them would be good in breaking the ambiguity that seems to take up the bulk of these arguments.

Funnily enough, I've literally made a thread devoted to theorizing what their business logic could be. A couple people have come up with some genuinely believable ones (I'm not saying we agree with them, of course, but seeing where they're coming from at least somewhat helps IMO).

I'm sorry but you are the reason why they will not learn that this is ruining their business. I'm not saying that you can't support CN but please do learn how to stop accepting everything they do or try to see the reasoning behind it. I know you want to be positive but there has to be a time where you have call them out.

I straight-up stated in that very post that the schedule was "absolute rock bottom" and "awful on all sides". That doesn't sound like accepting everything they do to me.

The point I was making is, the schedule isn't everything in terms of the company. Yes, maybe I have been underestimating its importance, but my feelings that people shouldn't give up on the entire company for failings of one particular portion still stand.

I understood when you said that it was rock bottom but then you said you still stand by them. Sometimes you have to stop supporting someone for them to see what they're doing wrong. No offense but it's starting to sound like you are on their payroll and must defend them every chance you get.

I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
I might be the only one who cares but why is Scooby Doo basically unavailable everywhere? Netflix has only Mystery Inc and the two James Gunn movies. Tubi has What's New and Where Are You. Meanwhile HBO Max has basically nothing. I've been itching to watch the classic Scooby Doo direct to video movies lately and they're nowhere to be found outside of purchasing them on sites like YouTube.
Last night started watching a new adult animated series, a Netflix original that is basically the succesor to Big Mouth.

What is so great? Despite being a 18+ show, they actually bothered to give it a Romanian dub :ack::eek:
