It’s literally just what Disney Channel does.We aren't in the 90s-2000s anymore. Also, CN isn't a documentary channel, like ID, Animal Planet, etc.

As a local feed. But movies aired even after the merger so it's not like you got rid of them. Although Polar Express type of movies won't be seen again.I think the last movie was Polar Express? That was at the very end of August 2024
If EET timeslots for Finland aren't that important (since the channel doesn't have any localization whatsoever for the Finnish market), then how come Finland doesn't just get a time-shifted EET version of Cartoon Network Western Europe? It's not impossible but still a good enough situation that they at least got the times written. I can at least appreciate them that much that I no longer need to check the EPG. Things could be worse like they are in the UK.
Hopefully they will improve and say the times but it's one of those things I'm not concerned about. Numbers aren't as controversial as English text.
Zakawer, We don't need Finnish times written as the ratings aren't good enough compared to Discovery Channel and such. CN is not close to being a documentary channel.
Finnish speakers are indirect consumers of CN, the channel is not catered to them.If EET timeslots for Finland aren't that important (since the channel doesn't have any localization whatsoever for the Finnish market), then how come Finland doesn't just get a time-shifted EET version of Cartoon Network Western Europe?
The channel could have two timeshifts: a GMT timeshift for Portugal and an EET timeshift for Finland. Only one timeslot would be listed and displayed in promos (and would be spoken out loud on all audio tracks, including the English one that Finns who cannot speak Swedish must rely on). What would you think of that?
They won't have a time-shifted version because it's not dubbed in Finnish. And I don't think ever will. Again, this does not affect you. It is what it is. Not every country can be dubbed as it would cost more money. These days if people want to watch dubbed shows, they'll just go to HBO Max. It's not like CN linear is hugely known over here.If EET timeslots for Finland aren't that important (since the channel doesn't have any localization whatsoever for the Finnish market), then how come Finland doesn't just get a time-shifted EET version of Cartoon Network Western Europe?

Portuguese and Spanish channels dodging the Azorean and Canary timezones in promos be like (radio time announcements don't count)Finnish speakers are indirect consumers of CN, the channel is not catered to them.
Russian-speakers outside of CET and so on have the announcers saying the "CET" mention, so it's a matter of calculation
Everything else is quickly sorted out by the time zone feeds, the reasons why they exist as well as coherence, is the possibility to show times on the channel without CET and EET.
Promos must be easy to decipher, and CET and EET and other stuff might not mean much to much of the core audience in main CEE and WE areas.
Yes, some will feel left out, but it's a minority, a minority which is used to do calculation themselves, and mostly "non-official" CN watchers
The only thing they could do improve is have the announcers saying the time on the English track, that's it
actually yeah I guess that does make sense, if there are time shiftes no need to mention multiple timesMmmm I don't think so, about what zakawer mentioned
Plus, there are time shifted feeds now, which make CET-EET and so on mentions, already confusing for older people on "normal" channels, useless for the WBD kids channels.
I think it is better to stick with simplicity, regardless, and the use of English is more controversial on kids channels in Europe.
It is a case of it is what it is
Well, saying at least time on the English audio track is not far fetched, and not something impossible to do
Especially as it's a very small thing to change.
My comment referred more to adding CET/EET/whatever, which is, quite "heavy" and messy to do
You make some points there, as CAT can indeed be confusing, especially in Summer.actually yeah I guess that does make sense, if there are time shiftes no need to mention multiple times
however I would like to point out that feeds like CN Africa do have this problem where since they only mentioned CAT time this causes some confusion from people that live in East and especially West African countries because the show event or movie air earlier/later than what the promo say (since during times like the summer WAT is earlier than CAT by a few hours and EAT is later than CAT by 1 hour) and there are no time shifts or anything like that
for example when I was watching the CN classics block back in December the promo said it would air at 4:55 to my surprise it did earlier than that in Nigeria it actually aired at about 4:00pm so i think logically in South Africa and other CAT countries it aired around 5:00pm (because in december CAT time is an 1 hour ahead of West African time and Nigeria is in West Africa)
(sorry for the long talk lol just wanted to say this because I don't think anyone mentioned this before)
Cartoon Network adjusted to Ghana/Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. You make some points there, as CAT can indeed be confusing, especially in Summer.
I believe they should have some WAT or EAT feeds in some cases (or should be clearer at what CAT means, which is for them South African time, not "CAT"), when possible at least, and I feel like the rest of Africa outside of South Africa and maybe surrounding areas gets sadly missed out far too often.
It is a case of socioeconomics injustice too in general, not just related to TV channels and their huge South African bias.
Adventure Time: Side Quest (Turkish: Adventure Time: Yan Görevler) premieres on Cartoon Network and HBO Max on October 5, 2026. - Turkey
this is actually not a bad idea and there will also be less confusion, also don't be confused by the dstv guides that have the schedules adjusted to the time for each African country (depending on what country gude you are viewing) the actual channel doesn't do thatYou make some points there, as CAT can indeed be confusing, especially in Summer.

In Turkey, they constantly air Kral Şakir late at night, but this is due to a special situation caused by RTÜK (Radio and Television Supreme Council) in Turkey . I wish they would air programs from before 2010, or personally, I would prefer Gumball. Here in arabic . CN arabia just spammed kral sakir every late night while at CN MENA . they aired gumball in the late of the night
I can at least go through all night of Gumball than Kral. I have watched some Kral episodes and it's mid at best.In Turkey, they constantly air Kral Şakir late at night, but this is due to a special situation caused by RTÜK (Radio and Television Supreme Council) in Turkey .
