Captain Marvel

I would like to poll people on who would like to see Captain Marvel next season in the JL?

What about the rest of the Marvel family, do you want to see them as well?

I would prefer a meeting with the family and they could have the traditional dust up and then team up against the injustice gang.

Let me know your thoughts.

I don't know about the rest of the Marvel Family as that might be a little "cheesy", just Captain Marvel. I think that would make for a great 2 parter.

Billy looking up to the Justice League and then being empowered to Captain Marvel and then teaming up.
or
Something similar to the Kingdom Come graphic novel where Captain Marvel/Billy were brainwashed? and then fighting against Superman.

I would personally like to see an updated version of Captain Marvel yelling "Shazaam"

I think an appearance by the big red cheese in season 3 would be awesome! Maybe Black Adam could be the main villian & slug it out w/the league & especially big blue!

It would be cool if it can happen, but it will be difficult getting the rights to use him in animation form. I believe Paul Dini and Alex Ross actually worked on a Captain Marvel TAS proposal, which was nixed for that very reason.

I thought DC had bought all the rights to Fawcett's Captain Marvel. If not how can they print his comics but not make an animated show?

Well, Marvel Comics currently owns the trademark to the Captain Marvel name, which is why all subsequent DC books featuring the C.C. Beck version cannot use the title, and are forced to use Shazam! or Power of Shazam!

That shouldn't prevent them from developing an animated series, they would simply have to call something other than "Captain Marvel".

It wasn't so much a rights issue as it was the WB execs taking issue with the design of the show. Granted it was done by Alex Ross but Shazam! didn't share the same styling that BTAS, STAS, JLTAS and BB have shared. For the most part Capt. Marvel was very overexaggerated on many of his features - making many believe that it wouldn't look very good in animation.

It would be fantastic. Although I would rather just see him for the time being. Bring in Mary and Jr. later.

I would love to see captian marvel guest star in season 2 of Justice League.

For the curious, Alex Ross' Captain Marvel designs can be found here. As noted above, I think the series didn't get picked up because of the art style used by Ross.

I am ususally in favor of Alex Ross designs because of the realism, but the Captain Marvel animated looks a little over exaggerrated. Even considering the fact that the Captain is a kid, it looks like he's holding air to puff up his chest.

Boy that looked way too cartoonish! But I see what he is trying to do, making out CM to be kind of whimiscal.
