2025 was a very solid year for DC Animation, with a wide variety of content for every fan.

Harley Quinn Season 5

The 5th season of the popular DC Action Comedy sees the Maid of Mischief (Kaley Cuoco) moving to Metropolis with her lady love Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) for a fresh start. While making a new life for themselves in the City of Tomorrow, the two contend with Lena Luthor (Aisha Tyler), Floronic Man (John Flattery), and the ever-present threat of Brainiac (Stephen Fry).

Bat-Fam

Spinning off from the popular Lil' Batman film, Bat-Fam sees Bat-Dad Bruce Wayne (Luke Wilson) forming a quirky, tight-knit, family unit with his son Damian (Yonas Kibreab), trusty butler Alfred (James Cromwell), reformed villain Claire AKA Volcana (Haley Tju), eccentric uncle-type Man-Bat (Bobb Moynihan), comedically menacing ghost grandpa Ra's Al Ghul (Michael Benyaer), and childhood friend and Alfred's friendly go-getting niece Alicia Pennyworth (London Hughes). Together they contend with crime and what it means to be a family.

Teen Titans Go! Season 9

The ninth season of the long-running Cartoon Network comedy saw the Titans continue their zany adventures, including dealing with Egghead (David Kaye), bird-themed heroes, Lex Luthor (John DiMaggio) King Shark (Eric Edelstein) week, and a Halloween special where they go up against their very network.

Batwheels Season 3

The third season of Batwheels premiered this year and saw the Batwheels team battling in space, dealing with a "good" Legion of Zoom, welcome the Tumbler to the team, and save a concert.

Batman Ninja vs Yakuza League

The sequel to the Batman: Ninja animated film features the Caped Crusader (Koichi Yamadera/Joe Daniels) and his family battling transformed version of the Justice League re-imagined as Yakuza Supervillains.

Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires

A feature-length film reimagining the Batman mythos with Aztec mythology, Aztec Batman sees the young noble Yohualli Coatl (Horacio Garcias Rojas/Jay Hernandez) see his family and culture ripped away from him by Conquistador Hernando Cortes (Alvaro Morte). Seeking to avenge his people, he becomes more than a man and battles to reclaim his birthright as Batman.

Krypto Saves the Day!

Cute and comedic animated shorts featuring the Dog of Steel as he battles with crime, dog problems, and saving the city from...himself.

What are your thoughts on DC Animation in 2025? What did you enjoy/didn't enjoy? What are you looking forward to for DC Animation in 2026?

It was an eclectic spread this year. Not as much output as past years but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Harley Quinn got as close to season 2 goodness as it could with season 5 and pretty much gave it a decent series finale. Hell of an interesting arc for Brainiac.

Bat-Fam was a hit with me. On paper, the cast looked confusing but it worked so well and "The Art of Claire" in particular was a gem for this year and perhaps all-time in DC animation. Hope more people give it a shot.

I'll give props to Teen Titans Go! for debuting Hero Hotline in animation.

Favorite news item was pretty much the My Adventures With Green Lantern announcement. Weisman revealing YJ season 2 originally being in Team Year One caught me off-guard for sure.

Bat-Fam came in late but ended up being kind of the most enjoyable DC Animation of 2025. Harley Quinn is a close second I guess. Teen Titans Go, Batwheels, and Krypto were all fine, but nothing too spectacular.

The Batman Ninja sequel was pretty good overall, while Aztec Batman didn't really live up to its full potential. It seems they were really hoping it will get a sequel, eventually.

Batman: Knightfall might be the only DC animation movie we get next year, so that's something to look forward to. Not sure if they're still on track for 2026, but new seasons of Batman Caped Crusader, and My Adventures With Superman should be fun.

Harley Quinn left me cold, but at least aside from the Bat-Fam episode, it wasn't a trainwreck like most of season 4 was. Brainiac was a fun antagonist, at least.

Speaking of, Bat-Fam was fun. The humor's not really my thing most of the time, but sometimes it hit. I like the ideas of the reformed C-listers and Ra's al Ghul's ghost and Man-Bat as squatters a lot, but I was less enamored by them introducing quite a few non-Batman rogues.

Batman Ninja vs. the Yakuza League has a stronger overall plot, but somehow felt a bit less fun. I also didn't like how incoherent the time mechanics were, especially in the final act. I still need to watch Aztec Batman.

I'm hoping MAWS and B: CC get new episodes this year. Otherwise, not really much to look forward to for me.

I'm still side-eyeing why they made the most precious cinnamon roll in the DCU, Cyclone, into a villain. Were there really no wind-themed female villains!? No one worth gender-flipping !?

Could've used Silver Swan...

In retrospect, they could've even used Windfall. She does have a Batman connection in the comics via the Outsiders title.

Aztec Batman was alright but it didn't really impress me much. It reminds me of the summer of those Elseworlds annuals, many of which were just "meh".

Harley Quinn Season 5 was a lot of fun! Brainiac was really well done! However, Bat-Fam was my favorite DC show of the year! That show really caught me by surprise with how delightful it is! Great cast of characters and voice actors. Like Yojimbo said: "The Art of Claire" is an especially great episode!

Those doing the pyramid burger on YouTube are doing it wrong. Let it cook until it's well done because I've seen people doing it and trying it before spitting it after realising that it's raw.
I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
I might be the only one who cares but why is Scooby Doo basically unavailable everywhere? Netflix has only Mystery Inc and the two James Gunn movies. Tubi has What's New and Where Are You. Meanwhile HBO Max has basically nothing. I've been itching to watch the classic Scooby Doo direct to video movies lately and they're nowhere to be found outside of purchasing them on sites like YouTube.
Last night started watching a new adult animated series, a Netflix original that is basically the succesor to Big Mouth.

What is so great? Despite being a 18+ show, they actually bothered to give it a Romanian dub :ack::eek:
