I usually can't stand touches of FLCL anywhere. However, I will watch this, because it's a mecha, and mecha seems to go nowhere in America since Gundam Wing.

Is the "FLCL vibe" just because the character designs are somewhat bizzare?

The main character's nose is weird.

And his opening line definitely reminds me of FLCL. "I'm a teenage boy, nothing ever happens, life sucks, etc. etc."

Alright, we get it, things suck.

I got FLCL in the first episode, but after that it kinda goes away. Mainly because you see this young kid in a weird industrial town and you see some strange structures and he's talking about how much his life sucks.

Just reminded me a lot of FLCL in that aspect. It doesn't really have anything in common content wise

Crap. I forgot this was on tonight. Nice animation, the character designs are different but still good. For some reason I can't stand the way the noses are drawn.

The girl's character model reminds me a LOT of Gwen from Ben 10, as strange a comparison as that is.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Actually, when I saw Eureka (that's his name right?) and "the girl" together on a Newtype cover I instantly thought.. "Ben 10"...

Even though the hoverboarding seems too blatently EXTREME, I like it.

Hoverboarding Eva's with FLCL's style instead of egotistical whining is surprisingly awesome. The kid is kinda annoying, but he's still cool. Oh it transforms, stupid in concept and yet works flawlessly, much like this show. He jumps off a cliff and it ends, niice.

I hate the speed up closing. Eww, why does it start off with the song playing normal then its like they jump to the middle/end and turn up the volume while the rest of the song is still playing normally under it... lol

Even if this FLCL vibe lasts only this episode, I'm still watching it every night. So far it's got me intrigued. Now let's see if I get hooked. Tonight, I give it an 9/10.
