Last time: NEW OBJECTIVE: DEFEAT KING GOMAH

"Those two give anyone else big Majin Buu vibes?"
Well, they are named Majin Kuu and Majun Duu.

Never be ashamed to admit when you lose, Goku.

Make the Demon Realm great again.

Well, it's not called the Angel Realm.

You had Goku at "fight."

Do I need to separate you two?

Why not Piccolo? He's hardly done anything.

This fight will come in Duu time, it seems.

One of Panzy's dad's squad looks like he comes from a kids' show about a dog who's a construction worker.

MIND IF I PLAY?

Someone go up there and poke him in it.

Blame your chauffeur and his new hat.

Every final boss battle needs an arena.

The Bloomin' Onion of Doom.

Dude! This is my dad's castle! I'll get in trouble if we smash it up!

Pesky bees!

Yeah, go help them! You guys aren't really villains as far as I know!

For a minute there, I thought he was coming on to him.

Eight against one. He thinks they're good odds.

Not since HUNTERxHUNTER has there ever been a more menacing playing card-themed villain.

Banana Hair Goku is pissed.

The Demon Realm's set of Dragonballs have been gathered together in the 17th episode of DBD. The episode starts with Arinsu introducing herself to the members of Goku's group who don't already know who she is after she arrives in the courtyard of the Supreme Demon King's Castle alongside Kuu & Duu with the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball. Kuu & Duu also take the opportunity to introduce themselves to Goku's group. Glorio seems concerned while Bulma notices Kuu & Duu having similarities to Buu with Piccolo agreeing with Bulma's observation.

Goku then notices Kuu holding the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball and Kuu clarifies that Duu was the one who defeated Tamagami 1 while admitting he lost against Tamagami 1 but says it in a proud manner which confuses Goku. Shin steps forward to greet Arinsu who greets him back but pretends to not know why Shin looks like a kid again which leads to Shin explaining the results of Gomah's wish; this leads to Arinsu figuring Shin has returned to the Demon Realm (while bringing Mortals along) to summon the Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon to wish to be restored to their proper ages and Shin confirms this hoping to negotiate with his sister for the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball. Although she puts on a polite front, Arinsu isn't willing to part with the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball because she wants the Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon to grant a wish of her own and Shin suspects his sister wants the position of Supreme Demon King while bringing up how their mutual brother also had that same goal in mind; Arinsu insists that Degesu merely wanted the position as a "mindless pursuit of power" while insisting that she wants the position for the sake of making the Demon Realm into a "terrifying" realm that will make the Mortal Realm fearful enough to "bow before [the Demon Realm's] might". Shin laments the fact that Arinsu chooses to use her brilliance for this plan because he believes she could've used her brilliance to "bring peace to [the Demon Realm]" but Arinsu dismisses the idea of "the Demon Realm at peace" as a "disgusting notion".

After revealing her motives, Arinsu says she is willing to settle the matter with a battle between one of the Z-Fighters and one of the "Majin Brothers" with the winner claiming the Demon Realm's set of Dragonballs. Piccolo points out that Arinsu is demanding an unfair wager because they have 2 of the Demon Realm's 3 Dragonballs while she only has 1 but Arinsu threatens to destroy the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball if they don't go along with her demand as she refuses to give it up without a fight. Goku agrees to represent his group in the fight although Vegeta argues with him for the position before Bulma backs up Goku pointing out that Vegeta got to participate in a fight recently via his fight against Tamagami 2. Arinsu chooses Duu to represent her group in the fight after scolding Kuu for trying to volunteer as the one to represent her group.

Once the representatives of each group has been decided, Goku & Duu begin to battle. It doesn't take long after the fight starts before Goku uses the Power Pole to counter Duu using his stretching arms. Eventually, Goku transforms into Super Saiyan (1) during the fight which leads to Kadan & his soldiers to comment on being impressed by the power displayed by both Goku & Duu. Suddenly, the fight between Goku & Duu is interrupted by an energy blast launched by Gomah…who is now in a giant and more muscular form thanks to the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus.

Gomah reveals himself by jumping into the courtyard of the Supreme Demon King's Castle and confirms his identity when Goku asks him. Both Arinsu & Neva immediately recognize the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus on Gomah's forehead and are horrified by the sight. When Panzy expresses confusion, Neva explains that the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus is an artifact that many Supreme Demon Kings throughout multiple generations have placed on their respective foreheads to amplify their respective magic powers which helped ensure their respective reigns over the Demon Realm; Glorio brings up how it was during the reign of Dabura's father, Abura, when the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus went missing and Neva confirms this to be true while wondering how Gomah managed to find the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus after all this time. Hybis gulps after silently realizing what his belt buckle actually was after trading it for a hat.

Gomah thanks Neva & Glorio for informing those present who don't already know the backstory of the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus because it means the Z-Fighters now have some understanding of the power they're now up against. Bulma takes note of how the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus resembles Hybis' belt buckle…and notices how Hybis' belt is missing but Hybis dodges the question when Bulma asks him why he doesn't have his belt anymore. Goku asks if Gomah plans to fight them and Gomah confirms Goku's guess is right but he wants an arena "worthy of the occasion". Using the power of the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus, Gomah combines multiple floating islands scattered throughout the Demon Realm's 1st World into a single floating island and reshapes it into a giant circle surrounded by curved spikes.

Vegeta doesn't wait until reaching the newly constructed arena to fight Gomah which leads to some damage to the Supreme Demon King's Castle, much to Gomah's dismay. Gomah manages to lead Vegeta to the newly constructed arena and also manages to swat Vegeta into the arena when Vegeta tries to charge him after briefly transforming into Super Saiyan (1). After observing Vegeta fight Gomah for a while, Goku concludes that the best strategy for now is to "rush [Gomah] at once" which leads to Piccolo, Shin & Glorio (after handing the Demon Realm Dragonball he's holding to Hybis for safe keeping) to join Goku in heading towards Gomah's arena. Bulma notes that Goku doesn't usually like others to help him in a fight which Neva notes is a sign that Goku recognizes just how powerful Gomah is with the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus amplifying his power.

Goku & Vegeta both transform into Super Saiyan (1) while they, Piccolo, Shin & Glorio all try to attack Gomah at once. During the fight, Gomah manages to swat Goku into a floating island which leads to the bag of Medi-Bugs falling off of Goku without him realizing it. Kadan & his soldiers note how Gomah still has the advantage in the fight which leads to Bulma insisting that Arinsu should have her group help fight against Gomah; after thinking it over, Arinsu instructs Kuu & Duu to fight Gomah which also leads to the others to fly towards Gomah's arena (with one of Kadan's soldiers carrying Bulma). Neva attempts to subtly convince Tamagami 1 to join the fight…but it takes 2 winks and a telepathic message in order for Tamagami 1 to finally understand what Neva is trying to say before they join the others.

Although, Tamagami 1 ambushes him, Gomah manages to counter in enough time to avoid the attack. Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Shin, Glorio, Kuu, Duu & Tamagami 1 all work together to fight against Gomah at once but Gomah continues to easily fight them off without much effort; when Vegeta asks if Goku still has any Revive Bugs left, Goku realizes that the bag of Medi-Bugs fell off him at some point during the fight. Eventually, Gomah uses a paralyzing technique on Goku and prepares to launch an energy blast at him…only for Duu & Tamagami 1 to block the energy blast from hitting Goku; Duu & Tamagami 1 are able to hold off the energy blast long enough to provide Goku a chance to power up and the Power Pole falls off Goku while he's powering up. The episode ends with Goku transforming into Super Saiyan 3.

Sure enough, it looks like Arinsu will end up being a "Big Bad Wannabe" due to Gomah gaining the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus although she does come off as a "high functioning" example compared to Degesu who came off as a "low functioning" example. The way Glorio seemed surprised to see Arinsu already had the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball gives me the impression that Arinsu left Glorio in the dark about some parts of her plan. While Gomah's outfit after being powered up by the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus does resemble the Pride Troopers' uniform from DBS, Gomah's power up also seems to be a reference to Garlic Jr. (the main villain of DBZ Movie 1 and the Filler Saga set in between the Frieza Saga & the Android Saga) in the sense that a small villain transformed into a bigger & more muscular form. The bag of Medi-Bugs getting lost during the fight with Gomah made me disappointed that we won't get to see the Medi-Bugs' version of Fusion in action but hopefully a later show will be able to eventually show it off much like how DBS eventually showed Old Kai's warning from DBZ that one of the fuses being in a transformed state while performing the Potara Earring Fusion would result in the Fusion character being "locked" into a transformed state via Fusion Zamasu.

Welp, interrupted a fight with Majin Duu and went right into everyone vs. Gomah. Was wondering why Goku and Vegeta stayed in SS1 and didn't go 2 but at least Goku realizes they gotta go all out and does go straight to SS3.

Typical eyeroll that Vegeta is down...

Someone find that pouch of Revive Bugs. Goku and Vegeta seem the obvious choice but gotta wonder if there's a new fusion outta left field in store.

But technically they just have to dislodge the eye, right? Though they said even at normal Gomah isn't exactly a pushover.

So Gomah became Jiren (before we meet Jiren), and Kid Goku has cranked up to Super Saiyan 3 or so to take him on. Still waiting for Glorio to reveal his true loyalties, or if he might have a last-minute change of heart.

Episode 18: "Awakening"
King Gomah enters the battlefield and an all-out battle ensues! Goku and his companions struggle against the power of the Third Eye. Just when it seems that all is lost, an amazing new power is awakened within Goku!

No spoilers.

Last time: I spy with my Third Eye...something that's hard to miss.

Hello, kiddies! Meet Joker-zilla!

"How many silly magic tricks do you have?"
How many do you want?

*hums Popeye theme*

BY THE POWER OF TOLL HOUSE!

Uh oh. Sugar crash.

Maybe get a stick and poke him in that eye?

Well, that was a waste of tide turning.

"Hey! Spirit Bombs are MY thing!"

And Grandpa Namekian with a sudden assist.

Hey, his tail grew back.

Oh, okay. Uzumaki. That Junji Ito adapation you made that went through five years of production hell, tanked in quality after the first episode, and got roasted in the reviews. There's your ideal Halloween marathon. Not that one super-popular show you recently picked up about ghosts and aliens and possessions. Who'd want to see a marathon of THAT?! No, let's have a night-long ode to one of the most tarnished jewels in your long line of mediocre originals.

Oh, we're back to the fight. Okay.

You see, the trouble with riffing on shows like this is that they usually have these really long fight scenes where there's not a lot to say.

Not a lot of villains think to knock him out in the middle of a Kamehameha. Gotta give him props for that.

I'd say you got him, but we've got two episodes left.

I see you.

The Saiyan in the plastic bubble.

Hybis is a little too trusting of people.

"If we don't stop him, Gomah will rule the Demon World for all eternity!"
If you don't stop him, there won't be much of a Demon World for Gomah to rule.

"Wish"? Did somebody say "wish"?

Wait, you have to speak Namekian to summon him, yet he speaks English/Japanese fluently?

Want a translation? Tune in next week.

IT'S HERE!!!

Dandadan was right there, Toonami. I'm not being drawn into this spiral again. (Wish they aired a Paranoia Agent marathon back in 2020.)

The Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon is summoned in the 18th episode of DBD. The episode starts with Goku transforming into Super Saiyan 3 to continue fighting Gomah (who has been powered up by the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus). Vegeta, Piccolo, Shin & Glorio land near Bulma, Dende, Panzy & Neva to rest after attempting to fight Gomah. Panzy barely recognizes Goku after he transforms into Super Saiyan 3 while Shin urges Goku to give it his all against Gomah.

Gomah doesn't seem too concerned by Super Saiyan 3 as he writes it off along with Goku's other abilities as "silly magic tricks" and asks how many more Goku has available. However, Gomah learns too late that he underestimated Super Saiyan 3 as Goku manages to land a solid hit on Gomah and still puts up quite a fight against Gomah afterwards. Bulma, Panzy, Kadan, Kadan's present soldiers and even the "Majin Brothers" cheer Goku on as he continues to fight Gomah. Noticing Goku has powered up gives Kuu an idea and he heads off somewhere to put this idea into motion.

It doesn't take long before Duu & Tamagami 1 join Goku in fighting against Gomah. Eventually, Gomah is able to knock the trio down and they end up unconscious. Kuu returns to Gomah's arena with a giant chocolate chip cookie to feed Duu which succeeds in helping Duu regain consciousness and Kuu encourages Duu to power up. Goku manages to regain consciousness and proceeds to power up which inspires Duu on how to go about the advice Kuu gave him; seeing Goku's Super Saiyan 3 Form also inspires Duu to change the back of his head to resemble the spiky hair of the Super Saiyan transformations (much to the confusion of Arinsu).

Goku & Duu proceed to charge towards Gomah and Tamagami 1 regains consciousness to help continue the fight. The trio are able to put up a fight against Gomah…but Duu eventually tires out (which Kuu takes to mean "the cookie wore off") which gives Gomah a chance to punch Duu elsewhere. Goku & Tamagami 1 continue to fight Gomah until Gomah eventually uses the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus to blast them with an energy beam that knocks them to the ground. Gomah beats up Goku a bit more to leave him unable to stand before he begins to charge an energy ball to finish off everyone else within the arena.

As Gomah charges his energy ball, Neva approaches Goku and aims a ball of magic towards Goku. When the ball of magic makes contact with Goku…it triggers a transformation that results in Goku transforming into Super Saiyan 4, the transformation that was created for GT. The form does have a slight redesign compared to its design in GT with one of the most notable differences being that the arms become bigger (resembling gorilla arms); another notable difference compared to the GT design is that Goku now has red eyes & red hair (unlike the yellow eyes & black hair of the GT design) which bare a strong resemblance to the Super Saiyan God Form. It's also worth noting that Goku is still a kid when he transformed here while he became an adult when he transformed in GT; as far as I know, an "in-universe" explanation was never given for why that happened in GT but the most popular fan speculation I've seen range from "Super Saiyan 4 brings the user to their physical prime" to "the Super Saiyan 4 transformation is more powerful than the Black Star Dragonballs (the set of Dragonballs that turned Goku into a kid in GT)".

All the characters currently in Gomah's arena are surprised by the transformation Neva triggered within Goku with Gomah vocalizing his surprise before launching his energy ball. Thanks to the power of Super Saiyan 4, Goku is able to block the energy ball to send it elsewhere afterwards while Panzy notes how different Goku looks in Super Saiyan 4 Form and Piccolo notes how Goku's energy signature is "surging" right now. Goku now has a moment to actually see how he looks in Super Saiyan 4 Form while Neva smiles with a nod and Gomah growls in anger. After taking in his new transformation, Goku prepares to continue fighting Gomah.

Goku & Gomah charge towards each other to continue to fight each other. Thanks to the power of Super Saiyan 4, Goku is able to put up an even better fight against Gomah and even incorporates some monkey like movements while fighting. Goku's display of power helps give Piccolo, Shin, Glorio, Duu & Tamagami 1 the resolve to resume fighting against Gomah. The 6 fighters are able to work together to fight against Gomah who doesn't have as much of an advantage as he did earlier on in the fight.

During the fight, Piccolo launches the Special Beam Cannon alongside Glorio using his purple lightning while Gomah tries to counter with his own energy blast which leads to a beam struggle. Gomah ends up winning the beam struggle but it provides a distraction to give Goku a chance to charge a Kamehameha. Gomah manages to punch Goku while he's charging the attack…only for Goku to still succeed in fully charging and launching the Kamehameha towards Gomah. This results in a crater being created where Gomah was hit by the Kamehameha.

Unfortunately, the power of the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus allows Gomah to recover…and transform into an even bigger giant form. Gomah manages to overpower Goku and uses the power of the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus to trap Goku in an energy sphere which forces Goku back to Super Saiyan 3 Form and then forces him back into Super Saiyan 2 Form. Bulma, Panzy & Glorio are all worried about Goku…but Glorio is interrupted by a call from Arinsu who instructs him to bring the Demon Realm's 2-Star Dragonball & the Demon Realm's 3-Star Dragonball to her. The energy sphere Goku is trapped in forces him back into Super Saiyan (1) Form and then forces him back into his Normal Form before disappearing.

Glorio manages to retrieve the Demon Realm's 2-Star Dragonball & the Demon Realm's 3-Star Dragonball from Hybis by simply offering to watch them because "it's getting too dangerous" before he reaches the area where Arinsu & Kuu have placed the Demon Realm's 1-Star Dragonball. Arinsu confirms to Glorio that she is ready to make her wish to the Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon to obtain the position of Supreme Demon King while boasting about how having her wish granted will allow her to defeat Gomah. Arinsu also admits that she instructed Glorio to learn the Namekian language so that he would be the one to summon the Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon (who she calls "Porunga" which is also the name of Namek's Eternal Dragon) and make the wish on her behalf. After thinking back on the time he spent with Goku & the others (while Arinsu urges him to hurry up), Glorio eventually speaks the Namekian language to summon the Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon which catches the attention of everyone currently within Gomah's arena.

The Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon resembles Porunga except with a red color scheme and being even bigger in size; supplementary material refers to the Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon as "Demon Realm Porunga" for the sake of distinguishing him from Namek's Eternal Dragon. This leads to Goku's group realizing that Glorio had been working for Arinsu which leads to Vegeta reacting in anger while Panzy reacts with sadness; Neva notices how Glorio had learned the Namekian language. Like other Eternal Dragons, Demon Realm Porunga (voiced by Chris Sabat) gives a speech explaining to the one who summoned him about he will grant a wish that is within his power; Gomah attempts to attack Demon Realm Porunga to prevent a wish from being granted…only for Demon Realm Porunga to easily block the attack and flick Gomah elsewhere. When Glorio hesitates, Arinsu cheerfully reminds Glorio to word the wish along the lines of giving her the position of Supreme Demon King "with unparalleled magic power" but when he still hesitates she growls at him to do it; Glorio proceeds to speak the Namekian language. The episode ends with Demon Realm Porunga granting Glorio's wish.

Naturally, the biggest contribution of this episode is the fact that DBD has granted Super Saiyan 4 (GT's biggest contribution to the franchise) the coveted "canon immigrant" status; I've seen some refer to this moment as "Akira Toriyama's final gift" and I can see why some refer to it as such. I'm one of those fans with the sentiments that GT had some good ideas/concepts but not the best execution so while I may not have been a fan of the way GT executed some of their concepts, I still think some of these concepts have great potential and would be open to seeing certain concepts be given the "canon immigrant" status; Super Saiyan 4 is one of the ideas/concepts that I feel has great potential and I was pleasantly surprised to see that we had the chance to see Akira Toriyama's interpretation of the transformation. I give GT a lot of credit for the build up to Super Saiyan 4 and while I can understand why some felt the transformation came out of left field here, I feel Neva using his magic to unlock the form for Goku could be seen as a "preview" until Goku can use the form at will much like how the Tournament of Power could be seen as a "preview" until Goku can use (Autonomous) Ultra Instinct at will. While I do like the yellow eyes & black hair of the GT design, I also feel that the red eyes & red hair of this design gives the form a look of "uniformity" that compliments the red fur; it's also worth noting that GT already set the precedent of Super Saiyan 4 having red hair via Gogeta in the 60th episode of GT. Likewise, it's also worth noting that GT already set the precedent of one being able to transform into Super Saiyan 4 without a tail as Vegeta was able to transform into Super Saiyan 4 in the 59th episode thanks to being showered in Blutz Waves from a machine Bulma built; once the Blutz Waves "wore off" in the 62nd episode of GT, the tail Vegeta regrew from the transformation disappeared. While I can see why some think the bigger arms look ridiculous, I can appreciate the way how they go along with the "monkey look" of the form (in addition to the monkey like movements shown during the fight with Gomah) and I get the feeling that the bigger arms would look less ridiculous on an adult compared to a kid. Sean Schemmel mentioned in a recent interview that he collaborated with Stephanie Nadolny to come up with a "kid version" of the voice he gives Goku while in Super Saiyan 4 Form for consistency which is a level of dedication I both admire & appreciate. This episode also has another GT reference in the form of Demon Realm Porunga whose status as a red colored version of a preexisting Eternal Dragon that is also even bigger & more powerful than the green colored version acts as a nod to Black Star Shenron (the Black Star Dragonballs' Eternal Dragon); considering the fact that DBD is set 3 years before DBS, it seems safe to say Glorio isn't going to go through with the wish Arinsu wants him to make which would give Glorio some parallels with Giru from GT.

That first gut punch delivered to Gomah, long time coming.

Neva had one more trick up his sleeve. Wow, Super Saiyan 4 is now mainline canon!!! But probably as a highly situational temporary power-up. Depending on how they wish, Goku goes back to being a tail-less adult and Neva stays in Demon Realm which they may lose access to by the end so SS4 becomes just a one-time thing. Something will go down to explain why they never access it again in-universe.

lol, the giant cookie powered up Kuu but he burned if off so fast. :D

They really made that Third Eye so OP. Dang. Though of course one of the biggest ace in the holes hasn't been used yet: the Spirit Bomb but moot when the OG Porunga flicks Gomah aside like a fly.

And will Glorio do the right thing. They certainly seem to be pulling to that direction with the flashbacks and next week's title. Hmm, maybe he'll undo Gomah's wish? Wish the Third Eye to be removed/destroyed/hidden away?

Didn't care for Vegeta being sidelined. Not surprised since the franchise has a record of doing that but still irksome nonetheless. Neva didn't have 2nd SSJ4 power up for him? lol.

Just want to reiterate what I said when the episode first aired: Thank you Toriyama for making SSJ4 canon.

All the red letters so far: cgdtynomvalsebeggk. 2 to go.

Come to think of it, don't think the Japanese solution was ever found yet.

Just want to reiterate what I said when the episode first aired: Thank you Toriyama for making SSJ4 canon.
And showing SSJ3 Vegeta and answering the mystery of the Namekians' origins. :)

Boy, you think you know a person...

Episode 19: "Betrayal"
The battle continues to go poorly for Goku and his companions. After much hesitation, Glorio puts Arinsu's secret plan into action! As his friends watch in awe, what will Glorio's betrayal set in motion?!

No spoilers.

Hey, they're back to normal age again!

Welcome to whatwe in the business call "the homestretch."

You're glowing! And you're not even pregnant!

Full sized Saiyans. And just in time for Halloween.

Aww, they grow up so fast.

Why don't you pick on someone your own size?

Very well. Give the baby his bottle.

"So the short one's that strong, too?!"
They were all short.

I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed.

Luigi's full of surprises.

And glomped.

Hey, he got his name right. ...hey, were you pretending to forget just to toy with him?

So, in summary, YAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

"You're never gonna keep me down, no matter how many times you hit me."
Another proud student of the Chumbawumba School of Martial Arts.

Ahh, Mashle's back. The cream puff eater who proves you really AREN'T what you eat.

Oh, so we're still doing this?

Time to tag out, Vegeta.

Duu's a speed reader.

Three blows to the back of the head. What is he, a Sontaran?

I'm not helping you because I like you or anything.

"You're being a total man-baby!"
That was five minutes ago.

TMI, Bulma.

You didn't hear that thing with Arinsu just now, did you?

Glowing and screaming. That's all he does. Apart from the punching and the kicking and the Kamehameha and the Spirit Bomb and the Kaio Ken...

Surprised nobody's going bling looking into that thing.

DONKEY KONG NO JUTSU~!

Okay, so we're ending it here. Well, technically, we're ending it next week...

Guys, for real. Stop using might and use some tactics and go for the bloody third eye. SSJ3 Adult Vegeta is a bonus but let's fight smart. Thank goodness, Arinsu is on to something.

Woot, Mashle promo!

Vegeta gets his time to shine but still falls short. And now everyone knows he takes baths with his hot wife. lmao. The look on Piccolo's face. rofl. :D :D :D

Ok... Goku can still go Super Saiyan 4 in adult form. That leads to questions like why he or Vegeta never do it again in SUPER. Maybe Neva's magic hasn't worn off yet. Yeah. Just a temporary magic power up from Neva. That would be enough to explain it. Then of course, Beerus shows up and the God and Ultra pathways are what they pursue instead of SSJ4.

About time someone revealed the Third Eye's weakness! It's all up to Goku and Piccolo now.

The Demon Realm's Eternal Dragon grants a wish in the 19th episode of DBD. The episode starts with Demon Realm Porunga granting Glorio's wish…which is to Gomah's wish/restore the Z-Fighters & their allies to their proper ages. (The once again adult) Goku thanks Glorio (who has to remind Goku what his name is when Goku forgets and calls him "Gliro", although he is much more playful about reminding Goku compared to before) for restoring him (along with his family & friends) back to their proper ages. Like other Eternal Dragons, Demon Realm Porunga gives a speech explaining to the one who summoned him that the wish has been granted and bidding the one who summoned him farewell before the Demon Realm's set of Dragonballs scattered across the Demon Realm.

Gomah approaches Goku after recovering from being flicked by Demon Realm Porunga but he remains calm even though his wish was undone as he boasts about how the power of the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus ensures that the Z-Fighters are still no match for him even after being restored to their proper ages. Vegeta, Piccolo, Bulma, Dende, Shin, Panzy, Neva & Tamagami 1 all gather where Hybis is sitting which is near where Goku & Gomah are currently located. Vegeta responds that he'll prove Gomah wrong and when Goku insists on "taking turns", Vegeta points out that Goku just took his "turn". As Goku goes to join the other nearby spectators, Vegeta demands that no one else get involved in the fight either before he begins to fight Gomah.

Thanks to being restored to his adult form, Vegeta is able to put up a better fight by himself even with Gomah in his more powerful giant form, much to the surprise of Kadan & his soldiers. Elsewhere, Arinsu barely contains her anger at Glorio for not granting her wish by asking him if he forgot about how she "saved [him]" from the Demon Realm's 3rd World. Glorio clarifies he is grateful to Arinsu for that and he apologizes to her but can't bring himself to explain why he chose to use the wish for the Z-Fighters & their allies. In the end, Arinsu merely "fires" Glorio and demands he leave her sight with Glorio thanking her for what she has done for him before he takes his leave; Kuu tries to cheer Arinsu up by pointing out he's still here…which brings a small smile to Arinsu.

Meanwhile, Vegeta continues to fight against Gomah. Vegeta notes that he's getting used to being back in his adult form at a very fast rate and he's very pleased by this fact. Vegeta remains calm when Gomah insists he can keep this up "all day" and transforms into Super Saiyan (1) followed by Super Saiyan 2 in response to Gomah's boast. It doesn't take long after that for Vegeta to transform into Super Saiyan 3 to continue the fight against Gomah.

Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta is able to easily knock Gomah around the arena. Unfortunately, the power of the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus heals Gomah who repeats his boast about how he can keep this up "all day" but Vegeta remains calm. As Vegeta continues to fight Gomah, Glorio reaches the area where Goku's group is currently located but he's reluctant to stand besides them to his part in Arinsu's plan…only for Panzy to approach him and pull him towards the group while praising him for the wish he made to Demon Realm Porunga; Shin thanks Glorio while Neva winks at him. Goku takes a moment to praise Glorio for what he did…while calling Glorio by his actual name which leads to Glorio saying he knew Goku would "get it right eventually" before standing besides Goku with a smile.

As the fight continues on, Vegeta launches a Final Flash while Gomah launches an energy blast from his mouth which leads to a beam struggle. Vegeta ends up winning the beam struggle but the power of the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus heals Gomah who tells Vegeta he won't be able to "keep [Gomah] down" no matter how many times he successfully lands a hit. Goku & Piccolo notice that the stamina drain of Super Saiyan 3 is starting to take effect on Vegeta while Gomah's stamina isn't draining which leads to Piccolo figuring out that this is one of the powers of the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus and he points out to Goku that they shouldn't concern themselves with a fair fight knowing the advantage Gomah has on them even though they're now stronger than him in their adult bodies. As she watches the fight, Arinsu recalls how Dabura's father, Abura, was able to attach & remove the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus from his forehead at will and instructs Kuu to retrieve a book known as the "Book of Magic Items" which is located in "Archive 37".

Vegeta continues to land successful punches on Gomah but is growing more fatigued while the power of the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus continues to heal Gomah which gives him a chance to land a punch on Vegeta. Unfortunately, Vegeta is no longer able to maintain the Super Saiyan 3 Form and is forced back into his Normal Form. Goku offers to tag in but Vegeta refuses Goku's offer and insists on continuing to fight Gomah. Eventually, Kuu returns to Gomah's arena with the Book of Magic Items and he's able to read it fast enough to find the page about the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus.

As Vegeta continues to fight Gomah, Arinsu & the "Majin Brothers" approach Goku's group to explain that the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus can be removed from its user's forehead by landing 3 consecutive hits to the back of the user's head. Shin thanks Arinsu for the information but she insists she only did so for the sake of defeating Gomah rather than to help them. Goku comes up with a plan to fight Gomah as a distraction so that Piccolo will be able to land 3 consecutive hits to the back of Gomah's head. Shin points out that Vegeta would be too stubborn to let Goku take over the fight which leads to Bulma yelling at Vegeta to tag out; when Vegeta still refuses, Bulma threatens to never take a bath with Vegeta ever again he still refuses…which leads to Vegeta tagging out.

Goku approaches Gomah and after he sees Piccolo is in position, Goku proceeds to give Gomah a demonstration of the Super Saiyan transformations like he did for Buu & Babidi during DBZ. Once Goku transforms into Super Saiyan 3, Gomah asks Goku what the point is while dismissively calling the Super Saiyan Forms "silly transformations" similar to the reaction Babidi had to Goku's demonstration during DBZ. Goku responds to Gomah's question by saying it's time "to go even further beyond" (like he did when he first revealed Super Saiyan 3 during DBZ) before he begins to power up with a level of power that Tamagami 2 feels from the Demon Realm's 2nd World and that Tamagami 3 feels from the Demon Realm's 3rd World. The episode ends with Goku successfully transforming into Super Saiyan 4 as an adult.

Sure enough, Glorio's wish was to undo Gomah's wish. My biggest issue with Goku being turned back into a kid in GT was that the wish was never undone during the show's "present timeframe" with Goku only being an adult again during the show's "100 years later" epilogue and being temporarily an adult again when he transformed into Super Saiyan 4 Form; the fact that DBD has Goku & the others restored to their proper ages definitely makes me feel the plot point was better executed here than it was in GT. It was satisfying seeing Vegeta beat up Gomah through out the episode and it helps that the episode makes it clear that the only reason Gomah didn't lose against Vegeta was because he had a "cheat code" in the form of the Evil 3rd Eye/Tertian Oculus; it was cool seeing Vegeta use Super Saiyan 3 as an adult although I still feel the hairstyle should've been similar to Goku & Gotenks' Super Saiyan 3 hairstyle. Bulma threatening to not take baths with Vegeta if he didn't tag out was pretty funny and it also acts heart warming as it shows how far Vegeta has come since his debut. Goku's demonstration of the Super Saiyan transformations was a nice reference to the Buu Saga, especially since it served the same "in-universe" purpose of being away to distract the villain. I was pleasantly surprised to see Goku use "Canon Super Saiyan 4" as an adult and I'm guessing that Neva's magic is still lingering within Goku to allow him to pull this off. It's quite surreal to know that DBD will be finishing its Toonami run next week.

Glorio does the right thing. Kid Goku, we hardly knew ye ... except for the last 18 weeks. Now let's see the Adult Z Fighters can rip the Third Eye from Gomah, or if he'll just even get bigger and stronger.

Okay, Dende's safe, everybody's grown up now...

Just one job left to do.

One VERY BIG job...

Figure out what all these red letters mean.

Episode 20: "Maximum"
Having been restored, Goku finally surpasses his limits! To defeat the mighty Giant Gomah, who keeps regenerating through the power of the Third Eye, everyone puts in their maximum effort in an all-out battle!

No spoilers.

This heat is unbearable.
Going offline until further notice. David Ellison has won. I’m seeking therapy permanently rather than quitting life. Take care everyone. Once I leave the world into the void, I hope my life is better.
Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
