Bubblegum Crisis on Toonami?

People have told me about the series Bubblegum Crisis. By what I saw(trailers etc.) it seems like a fitting show for toonami, so I came to ask: is it?

I think it is...ooops, maybe not...some nudity at the end, which they could probably just digitize with new undies

but as far as I know, encore has the rights to it

Its presently on the Stars Action channel, so I don't know if CN could get the rights. Aside from that. Bubblegum Crisis, to me, is pretty boring. I like the remake (at least I think its a remake) which is Bubblegum Crisis 2040, for some reason I could get into that series a lot more than I could the original. Go figure. Both of the shows have mild swearing, nudity, and violence. This would probably work on Adult Swim where it would definitely require some edits, but not on Toonami.

I didn't care for BGC, but I wouldn;t mid it showing up on Toonami if it can show up with no problem.

Yes, I was talking about Bubblegum Crisis 2040. I saw the first five episodes and I like it. I guarantee you that many people are going to like the opening theme song.

I've seen 2040 but never the original unfortunately (which had a rocking soundtrack.) I think they'd both be good fits for adult swim with some editing.

Having seen both the original OAV's and 2040, I've grown to like both versions, though the original's a lot closer to my heart, seeing as how it's the series that got me into anime in the first place. But yeah, BGC 2040 would be perfect for ASA, if only Encore didn't have the rights to it.

One more thing... Dark Spider may have Kiyone, but Anri's MINE!!!

I think the orginal Bubblegum Crisis has a better chance of getting on AS than Toonami. Bubblegum Crisis 2040 could possible be on Toonami, because it has less violence than the first one.

It's a good anime. But, I would say that this show is better suited for Adult Swim Action, instead of Toonami. Just because it has some material that might not be suitable for most younger viewers.

IMHO the 2040 Knight Sabers' new character designs are kind of boring. I mean, turning Nene from a cute redhead into a boring, plain-jane blonde...what were they thinking?!

I have to side with they guys saying that AS has a better chance at it then Toonami. Mainly because of all of the "colorful language", nudity and kinda violent nature(trust me.. when someone dies... the amount of red you see is a true clue =p). Not that this mostly could be edited out... it would probably attract the AS crowd better anyway... and trust me... they'd need a show like this more then Toonami.

Yea.. its on Starz Action channel... and since they have custom promos for it and 2040(which are kinda the same promo), I wouldn't expect it leaving there any time soon. Its a great show and would have a place on either show but hiting the scene on either Toonami and AS would be a real improbability right now.

i think 2040 is a stupid anime. ive seen better animes, besides, theres a lot of animes that deserve to be on AS/toonami

Stars action doesn't show BGC 2040 anymore though, they haven't shown it in a year. And other than some mild nudity that could easily be airbrushed out and a bit of swearing (which obviously ASA has no problem with if you've seen cowboy bebop or yu yu hakusho) it would be perfect for ASA.

I think the character designs were definitely better in 2040. Especially Priss and Nene. Maybe its just the old stereotype, but Nene just made more sense as a blonde. Priss's character was definitely better, the writers gave her the brooding character which definitely suits her. It seems in the first BGC that her character keeps changing. Not that that's a bad thing, but the changes never make sense. The plot of 2040 was a lot more interesting as well. I don't know exactly how, but thats how it seemed to me.

My Opinion on this...

well...ok. i dont think that it would do very well on Toonami. both shows are fairly adult in nature...the ussuals : nudity, language, violence.

i think if it was to be put on it would have to be BGC 2040 and on Adult Swim. the original i cant see being on either time slot. that one, though a little toned down, is still a little too adult (ie : sexiod boomers, things like that) but still, i may be wrong and it may get a good viewing...i just dont think it should be on.

not only that but it would be the first anime on either that has been brought out here by ADV.
