Wow, the new episode... BADASS!
I think we all knew the Ally-titan story... Still confused about the whole thing though. How did he manage to get himself into that Titan? Next week is far away -___-
So now the first two volumes (plus the backstory chapters that made up episode 3) have been fully adapted. That's about 12 or so chapters adapted out of the current 45 that have been released. I haven't read past volume 4 myself, but I have to wonder how far the anime will adapt the manga and what they will do for an ending.
Yeah, that will be interesting to see. Supposedly this episode order was for twenty-six episodes, but I can't see that happening with the mess that Wit Studio is currently in. Maybe they'll try to break it off after episode #13 and wait six months to get the second half of the order finished, so as to buy more time.

If you bite off more than you can chew things might be difficult for you. That's what happens in this case, Wit Studio was too small for the task and the schedule doesn't help.
That's one of the reasons I like Kyoani so much, thanks to their fixed schedule they have managed to produce great animation constantly and with really intricate storyboards and layouts. Those two are much more important than super fluid animation and detailed art.
Yeah, they're very behind. Episodes are being turned in just before broadcast sometimes. The number of staff is ridiculous. The Blu-rays will probably have changes, though.
I imagine this current arc is going to end with Eren plugging the hole in the wall. Then he goes on trial and is imprisoned by the government and has to plead his case. The courtroom sequences and Eren in prison seems like a good time to run recaps/flashbacks to previous stuff.
Episode #11 has fourteen animation supervisors. That's more than credited key animators. Holy crap, if this series hasn't gone down in the history books yet it sure as hell has now.
Usually only one animation supervisor is used an episode. Sometimes a bigger episode will have a second or a Chief Animation Supervisor (usually the series' Character Designer). But damn, fourteen? Wit Studio must be busting their balls trying to make the key frames look as pollished as possible.
I love how Crunchyroll keeps getting this up earlier.
Pixis is such a magnificently charismatic crazy old man. He definitely knows who to inspire his men.
Similarly, I'm glad so much time was spent on Eren analyzing, and being told by others, his role in this plan and what everyone else is doing to support him.
The music played during much of this episode was really fantastic. Even without the operatic vocals it would make everything much more epic, but with them, it's just perfect.
Also, although most of the episode wasn't action-packed, the climactic scenes at the end really go all-out visually, and again it becomes most gripping just before dropping a "to be continued" on us.
And then of course that ending. Oh man. It wouldn't be nearly interesting enough if everything went as perfectly as it seemed like it might.
Also, for some reason toonzone hasn't let me post in this thread since my first post, so I'll post all my thoughts on all the episodes that aired in that time, each in a spoiler tag to avoid taking up too much space:
Episode 7
So Eren returns as a full-on Titan. Very interesting. I can't wait to learn more about that.
Again, this series manages to depict pure fear and hopelessness like almost no other. The level of emotion you could feel from Armin when he was facing Mikasa with the news was palpable, so unimaginable yet so easy to know exactly what he was feeling. Every stage of Mikasa's reaction managed to keep her a mindbogglingly amazing character as well as bring the full weight of her tragic backstory to the forefront of her character, making her feel more human than ever.
The use of insert songs combined with the onscreen action was like getting another opening mid-episode, as epic and exhilarating but in the context of the story, giving the audience a taste of the adrenaline-fueled morale boost that the troops attempted to instill in themselves following Mikasa's harsh speech.
The animation in this series is always amazing, but it went even further above and beyond the call of duty when Titan Eren came onto the scene to show us exactly what he can do.
Episode 8
So it ends with revealing what was pretty obvious. Still really amazing all the way through. I'm very interested to learn how this actually happened.
Episode 9
Interesting choice to start off with introducing a new character who isn't entirely related to the rest of the plot yet, but that's fine, because Levi was amazing in his brief appearance so far. The use of insert songs continues to make every situation that much more epic.
Then we move on to seeing Eren face the world as a human for the first time in quite a while now, seeing the reaction to this recent revelation, and finally learning a bit about how it came to be. Most of that last part was as people had speculated, so it wasn't too surprising, but the presentation of everything in those last few minutes was so gripping that I almost yelled out when I saw the "to be continued".
Episode 10
It's the best part of the week!
It's been too long since we've had some good Sasha comedy.
Then the majority of the episode is dedicated to the strongest Armin material yet. He's never been a bad character, but this definitely elevates him to a level worthy of standing aside Mikasa and the others. They're really doing a great job at showing off each character's unique strengths.
Obviously going into Dragon Ball Z Time isn't something I love to see, but everything else was so amazing that I'm not about to start complaining.
Good to see that Pixis is such an interesting character and will be a much bigger part of the story now. I was wondering how they were going to get out of their situation, and any other option I could think of wouldn't work as well as this one in the long run.
Although I'd be plenty happy with keeping this OP and ED combo for both cours, since we know they're going to change, I'd like to think they might do the same thing with the ED as with the OP and have another Hikasa song. She's such a great singer.
The Voyo-exclusive Romanian dub of Garfield and Friends goes on with the second season now being relased. I was afraid they will forget about the show after only one season.
As someone who's Portuguese, it just bugs me again that we lost. I wanted Portugal to win this time because this is Ronaldo's last, but no, we think Ronaldo has devolved significantly, and we lost against Spain.
Conflicted about the upcoming film adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone, given the creator now distancing herself from it despite co-writing the screenplay and blocking one of the actresses on social media despite defending her casting in the film.
