I'm at least trying to help the men to the north, cannot I get points for that?
No, seriously, nothing for [x] amount of years is better in this kind of situation. Trust us, we know.

And knowing is only half the battle.Pepperidge said:No, seriously, nothing for [x] amount of years is better in this kind of situation. Trust us, we know.
No, but you get a plate full of cookies for the effort.JTP said:I'm at least trying to help the men to the north, cannot I get points for that?
JTP, I think what everyone here is trying to say is that you're essentially asking FUNi to take the easy way out by giving everybody a bunch of lousy clip shows instead of the actual first 143 episodes. 4Kids did a lot of damage to this show, and for FUNi to do what you suggest would make FUNi no better than 4Kids. Another thing, this doesn't just apply to Canada, but to the U.S. (where I live) as well; it wouldn't be fair for FUNi to cater to just one country or the other. If Canada were to get redubbed versions of the first 143, then the U.S. will need to get them eventually...or vice versa (whichever comes first).
In other words, it's all or nothing.
I simply thought that they could be used as place holders until FUNi could find the time to redub those episodes. You know, a little now, the rest later? It's better then that 4Kids crap but whatever. I'm eatin' those cookies.
Normally I'd agree. But in the particular case of One Piece, the circumstances in Canada and the US are so different that I don't think that what one country gets on television should have any bearing on what the other country gets on television. Just because the US is at 144 does not mean that it is at all imperative for Canada to get to that point. Likewise, if Canada were to get FUNi's redubs of 1-143, it doesn't mean that the US has to get them either.
Make no mistake, I'm sure those episodes will air on Cartoon Network eventually. But if they do, it will be because of demand in that market, not because another market got them. What we're hoping is that Toei will recognize that the US and Canada are in very distinct positions right now. In the US, the 4Kids dub was successful enough to warrant continuing from that point. In Canada, the 4Kids dub failed miserably, so trying to maintain any kind of continuity with the way things are being done in the US makes no sense.
The situation is very tricky, which is why it's better if FUNi just WAITS to sort things out in Canada. It really is the best way to go.
I just wanted to ask, I don't suppose there is any interest from Funimation with regards to picking up any of the Geneon titles caught in limbo at the moment? I figure someone or other will pick up Black Lagoon and Hellsing, but might there be any interest on Funimation's part on anything beyond that?
Like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni/When They Cry, for instance?
FUNim,ation is currently very busy so I don't think they want to take upon themselves anymore work.

Yeah, that's why they just licensed Ghost Hunt because they are so busy and don't want to take on any more work.![]()
Well, let's not forget that we don't know when that title will begin production, do we?
From the FUNimation Forum's official announcement:
Ghost Hunt is set to release on DVD in Fall 2008.
why does it seem like Funi didnt (or wasnt) get the rights to the Negima? DVD revise of the series?
I asked this question at Otakon. For now, Funi only has the TV series (bummer, because the Summer OAV is a must watch for anyone who likes the Negi/Nodoka pairing).i'm sorry. its 143 pages. i cant scan all of that without going crazy eyed.
i did do a search.
Negima?!
was asked about, and FUNI seems to have gotten that.
will we be getting the OVA's from Negima?! and Negima?
I got a case closed question.
Now that you gotten past the first 2 movies, is there any chance in heck that we will see movie three?
