Ask A FUNimation Rep!

Will there be any Hellsing Ova's released past vol.4? If so are any being planned to bve released soon?

I'm going to assume I'm not the only one who raised an eyebrow at the Eva advertising. Originally, it said 'The rebuild of the original giant robot anime'. This is obviously highly suspect, given titles such as Tetsujin 28, Mazinger, Gundam, etc which clearly predate it. The advertising now appears to have switched to the more apt 'The rebuild of the groundbreaking giant robot anime'.

Did the Funimation Rep stop coming here? I mean, I do not mean to be rude, but I posted a question almost 2 months ago and it has yet to be answered. I am wondering if they just stopped doing this thread.

They sometimes disappear for weeks or months at a time, and then return and apologize for being extremely busy.

No, there have been posts recently and they read this forum. As said there though he and Funi at large are very busy, so patience is called for. They'll answer what they're able or willing to when they can.

I missed that, but that was a necessary correction. It's possible to read the original as "this is the rebuild of the original Evangelion giant robot series" but as written the easiest interpretation that came to my mind right away was definitely reading "original" as "first."

Yeah, I noticed that too. Gave me a bit of a chuckle.

Yeah, but the DVD box still says "original"...

Hey FUNimation,

Are you guys considering rescuing Haibane Renmei? It's an absolutely delightful fantasy drama that has drawn a lot of critical raves from both professional and casual sources in both subbed and dubbed form. It seems to be the most significant Geneon license not picked up yet by another licensor and I would prefer FUNi re-releasing the product over a Sentai/Section 23 re-release. I had to give up my singles a long time ago for college textbooks and I would like to re-own the series in boxset form.

I am not asking whether you have Haibane, just asking if it is being considered.

Thank you for reading.

Hey FUNimation,

This is an incredibly stupid question but I am interested in finally watching Ergo Proxy. I heard that "Paranoid Android" by Radiohead is the ending theme and that Geneon shelled out a fee to get the rights. Did you guys inherit the contract, is the ending theme gone, or does Geneon still hold the rights to the song? And if the rights are lost will you guys try to hold onto it?

Or, basically, is the ending theme still there on the box set?

All apologies for asking another question so soon,

-macattack

Now that (as of two months ago) the original 13 episodes of Dragon Ball are finally available uncut in America, I do have to ask this question...

Did Funimation actually dub the Curse of the Blood Rubies movie?

The reason I ask is because, even in the old Australian DVD release of the uncut 13, the version of the film that was included was the old edited 1995 dub. This, out of ALL the main Dragon Ball projects pre-Kai (TV series and movies), is the ONLY thing that we have yet to hear your uncut dub of.

You have a whole movie worth of unheard material that's probably been sitting on your shelves finished for the greater part of a decade. Now that Kidmark/LionsGate is no longer a factor, you should really schedule a release of the first Dragon Ball movie sometime soon. :D

Nuts to that, ya'll need to redub it completely. A FUNi Dragon Ball dub without Stephany Nolandy, is just not as enjoyable.

I disagree, Funi does not need to redub it completely, they just need to release it Uncut!:D

While True it may not be as enjoyable, with out the voices from the TV series its still a fun movie to watch & Redubbing somthing costs money, wich although funi has much of, is much better off used Dubbing somthing for a 1st time or getting new Anime series.

For the record, I was talking about a redub. I'm willing to bet that, around the time they redubbed the first 13 episodes, they also redubbed the first movie, but because of the whole Kidmark fiasco, we haven't heard it yet.

But now that LionsGate has no rights to Dragon Ball now, there's nothing stopping Funimation from finally releasing the uncut dub of Curse of the Blood Rubies.

The previous DVD release didn't have the original Japanese version (at least I don't think I did), so why did you emphasize the word "dub"?

He's saying Funi has already done an uncut dub for the movie, it just hasn't been released stateside because of Kidmark holding the license though it has been released in Australia .

Actually, not even the Australian release had the uncut movie (despite the rest of the set being uncut, it had the old edited movie included).

That's why I'm asking if Funimation really did a redub of it, because there's evidence both ways. Not including it uncut in the Australian set makes me think they didn't redub it, but there's no reason why they wouldn't have done a redub way back in the early part of this decade while working on the rest of the series.

Why do something you can release? I have to wonder if Mato or Daimao even did a translation for the subs.

It's a shame indeed, although if I wanted to I could just import the Dragon Box single from Japan (the movie's opening is pretty cool, as I hear).

If FUNimation ever gets around to dubbing Movie One I wonder what they'll do with their dubs of Movies Two and Three, as those are pretty out of synch with the cast of their in-house dub of the series (different narrators, Gokûs, Bulmas, etc.)

So you guys at funi got any presents (Big News/New acquisitions) for us This Christmas......or is the Funi News tree bare this year.

Last night started watching a new adult animated series, a Netflix original that is basically the succesor to Big Mouth.

What is so great? Despite being a 18+ show, they actually bothered to give it a Romanian dub :ack::eek:
