I can answer this right here.

The violence and otherwise "adult" situations in the show constitute the age-rating on their DVDs. They had an edited version for TV that was cut down to allow the show to air at a safe TV-PG, but it didn't do very well. Even if they cut out the swearing on the DVDs, it would STILL be "TV-14". So FUNimation, knowing that it was going to skew to an older audience in America ANYWAY, colored up the language a bit. More than necessary? Perhaps, but it all depends on how you respond to vulgar language. For some people, it feels natural with a lot of the events and actions that occur in the show. For others, like yourself I suppose, it seems out of place.

Don't like swearing in the dub? Fine, but don't act as if that's why One Piece has the rating it has or why One Piece hasn't done well with younger audiences in America. It has everything to do with the show's content, I assure you.

Yes it has. Despite the resentment there is to the 4Kids dub, before "Naruto" showed up it was the highest-rated show on Toonami with 6-11 year-olds. And when FUNimation took over the ratings gradually increased from where 4Kids last left off.

When is Funimation going to license Durarara? It's probably the most popular anime in the Winter '10 season. Just look how popular it's getting each week when a new episode airs.

Durarara also has the same creator, director, studio, and character designer as Baccano.

Is it because it's on CrunchyRoll that Funimation won't license it? (That'll be a crap excuse if that's the reason).

^^That might actually be a reason. FUNimation has said that they don't go after shows still airing on CR. In fact, I don't think many other companies do either.

They should at least license Umineko or Higurashi Kai, or something from this season like B Gata H Kei.

Hey Lance, good to see you at Sakura Con again and I should have asked this there since the FUNi Channel gal was there but since I didn't I thought I'd ask it here.

What shows other than those broadcasted on another channel are not allowed to be aired on the FUNimation Channel? I recall hearing a while ago that Yu Yu Hakusho could not be broadcasted on the FUNimation Channel due to the contract with the Japanese owners but it could be run in the syndicated block. Is that still true or was it ever true and if so then what other shows not currently in the hands of other networks cannot be aired on the FUNimation channel due to similar constraints?

I've voiced characters on Spongebob and a few other Nick shows I was wondering could you PM me the email address of Funi's Voice acting devision and if there is a devision for children I would like that one instead. Besides, Funimation doesn't have a voice acting division. Their actors are all freelance.

Either way if you want to work for FUNimation you're gonna more than likely have to live in Texas where their studio is. They do make some exceptions if you've worked with them before such as Laura Bailey and Kyle Hebert who both live in California now but still occasionally work for FUNimation.

Also if you've worked on Spongebob you could probably set your sights higher than anime dubs. Just about anything pays more than anime dubbing especially at FUNimation.

Well, I can't upload a video to show you but, my friend the voice actor for Baron on Bakugan, Cameron Kennedy can tell you I'm a voice actor if you mail him thorugh his youtube but, I'm not gonna post a link of his youtube account since I don't want a bunch of people spamming him.

You're probably thinking of the merchandising rights (which Disney surprisingly never had), and I think that's more a case of Bandai selling off the rights because they haven't been making much money off of Digimon in recent years anyways.

Disney still owns the dub rights to Adventure, Adventure 02, Tamers, and Frontier. However, as Toei has managed to upload official subs of 02 onto Crunchyroll and Funimation Video, there may be a loophole that could allow for sub-only releases of those series. That could work if, say, Bandai decides to do that, but Funimation strictly works with billingual releases, so it can't happen.

However, if they're interested in licensing Digimon: Cross Wars when they can...
