Why would someone not consider buying something with different dub actors? I mean, I don't even WATCH dubs so dub actors are literally nothing to me, but isn't the show itself more important than who dubs it? Sometimes it's unavoidable, like Ryoko in the third Tenchi OVA.

Because, (based on what I know about dvd purchasing habits / sales, etc.), 90% of dvd/vhs Anime sales are for the dubbed version. Only 10% buy for the subtitles.

The fact of the matter is that I (and most anime viewers) don't watch Anime subtitled unless I have to, (and not joyously). In fact even a bad dub, as long it doesn't make changes to the story, etc., is still preferrable to watching something subtitled.

Hay Lance, what's going on with the DBGT season sets? It seems like they're in 4:3 format judging from a video someone shot of a trailer.

If it is in fullscreen, does this mean that DBZ will get a 4:3 release down the road some time?

Not what I said. I said not buying a DVD because it was recast is not reasonable. Even if it's recast, the show ITSELF is still worth buying and watching.

Well, I'm no Slayers fan but FUNimation is likely to hunt down the original cast. That's how they roll.

You are a minority within a minority. Don't extrapolate your absurdist beliefs to Anime fans in general, or me in particular. Just because you tend to frequent forums that are just echo chambers (what I like to refer to as "Incestuous Validation"), does not make what you believe to be fact, actually factual.

If I didn't care about the show itself, I wouldn't say anything at all.
