FUNimation can't do that...by themselves, anyway. That would require Sunrise animating the rest of the series first. And if that did happen, I'm sure VIZ would dub the episodes.

Why was the dub of Shin-chan directed towards adults?

I know I can't complain about some jokes because some things just translated from Japanese to English won't make any sense because I know nothing about Japanese culture, but Shin-chan is a family show in Japan and still did excellent WITHOUT all of the random celebrity jokes and vast variety of cuss words.

Because the content of the "family show" in Japan is not acceptable as a family show in the US. We don't allow animated naked dancing children on TV.
Also, a lot of the original humor is very Japanese pop-culture filled, which makes it generally not as funny to a generic family audience here.

What I want to know, Lance:

With your new distubution deal with Geneon and acquisition of ADV's Titles, are you (FUNimation):

1. [strike]Are you going to release singles for the shows that did not get completed?[/strike]

2. Are you going to release the OVA for Shakugan no Shana?

2a. Are you going to release the Shana OVA with the Singles ArtBox like Geneon was going to?

3. Do you have the rights to other Shana properties like the Movie, The Second Season?

3a. Will you be licensing/distributing the rest of the Shana properties?

3b. If you do license more of Shana and When They Cry - Higurashi, will you keep Dub continuity for those series? I won't consider buying if Funi Changes the voices.

4. Do you have the rights to any of the various Soundtracks for the series that Geneon had?

4a. Will you be licensing more of the Sountracks for some of the series you just acquired? (Shana has several more OST's).

4b. Geneon also had some of the OST's for shows licensed by other companies. Did you get the rights to any of those?

5. Do you plan on getting the rights to any of the older shows that Geneon fully released, that had continuations, like Strawberry Marshmallow's two OVA series?

6. It looks like you got only the Newer mostly unfinished Geneon properties. Did you get the rights to any of Geneon's older properties?

7. Do you know when the licenses expires for all the various series you just picked up? I'm still super angry over the Marmalade Boy fiasco.

8. Will you be trying to get TV deals (CN/[as], Sci-fi, etc.) for some of the Properties that don't already have them? Shana and When they Cry - Higurashi need to be on [as].

9. Are you going to go after other companies incomplete/OOP series, I.e. Illumitoon, and Central Park Media. (Also, Disney is sitting on the DVD rights for W.I.T.C.H.; Viz is sitting on Full Moon, Corrector YUI, etc.; 4Kid$ is sitting on DoReMi, and possibly others.).

10. Are you going to finish releasing the unfinished ADV series's Singles?

10a. When will you be soliciting the final volumes of Red Garden, Kanon, etc.?

12. Since the Geneon Dub for Karin isn't up to the high quality standards for normal FUNimation licenses will you be redubbing it?

13. The former ADV titles were authored with much higher quality than FUNimation DVD's typically have. Will you be maintaining the superior quality on future releases of the former ADV titles, or will the DVD quality be downgraded to the sub-standard quality that FUNimation typically uses?

When are you going to license the Kiddy Grade Movies? AFAIK Kiddy Grade Season 2 is still in pre production, Will you be licensing that also?

With Geneon gone, will you be licensing the Trigun Movie when it eventually comes out?

Cardcaptor Sakura belongs with Tsubasa. Why haven't you license rescued it?

FUNi needs to license Rumbling Hearts ~next season~ (Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ~next Season~).

Also reguarding Slayers, when you license Revolution, you had better keep Dub Continuity from the original CPM versions (even Moo), or I wont consider buying.

Which continuity are you referring to? CPM's or ADV's?

That should be obvious as Revolution is season 4, and a continuation from Try. Also, I don't think Moo is in any ADV dubs.

KZK, the VA's who used to work on Slayers are now working for 4Kids. So unless FUNimation wants to lease them away from Al Kahn, chances are they'll just do a new dub.

They should be freelance actors, so there will be no leasing.

You are are saying that as if it's something I don't know. Kind of presumptuous don't you think?

And just so you know Crispen Freeman (Zelgadis) does not in fact work for 4Kids.

So unless FUNimation wants to lease them away from Al Kahn, chances are they'll just do a new dub.

I believe they are in fact free agents.
