MAW Superman and Unicorn WE seem to have done well, and Invincible Fight Girl and Iyanu: Child of Wonder sound interesting. It's good to see CN embracing action again, but I hope they haven't forgotten comedy.
Why is it automatically assumed that if a person were to suddenly gain super powers they'll put on tights and either immediately decide to save the world or conquer/destroy it?
X-Men '97 is good so far, but don't forget that angst does not automatically equal depth. Just adding swears and piling on cheap tragedies doesn't instantly make your work deep or mature.
Aside from Multiversus updates, we haven't gotten any real news about Warner Bros Discovery lately, and that makes me uncomfortable, like something bad is looming on the horizon. Shame that it's come to that.
X-Men was never meant to be bright and sunny (it's an allegory for prejudice, after all), but it looks like '97 is starting to veer into despair porn territory now, which I'm not digging. Can the mutants get a happy ending, just once?
Pretty limp April Fool's Day this year, I've got to say. Most of it was just folks typing stuff they'd like to see happen. Just reminded me of the sorry state of the industry right now, so I didn't participate.
My least favorite fringe of our fan base are the ones in their 20s, 30s and 40s who act like they're still high schoolers or lower. Yeah, a lot of the media our niche consumes is kiddie, but we don't have to act like kids fighting over toys in the sandbox.
It's been said before, but I'll be glad when we can go back to just talking about the shows themselves rather than the shenanigans going on behind the scenes.
Why do so many adults with no kids get so hopping mad about the existence of preschool shows and blocks? "Grr! I hate Cartoonito and Mickey Mouse Fun House! How dare they make preschool shows!" I don't get it.
I hate how the YouTube algorithm favors long form videos now; most YT subjects don't warrant hour plus documentaries and NO Let's Play needs to be 3+ hours. It's torture for my short attention span.
I just saw the latest crop of Jellystone! episodes; while your mileage will vary on the humor, the show's an Easter egg-o-rama! I'm still counting them all.
