  • Man, this forum's such a bummer. Every day, I see so many people let random corporate mergers go to their heads. It's come to the point where I've just stopped going here. Trust me, it's not that big a deal if these two companies merge. I can only imagine how everyone here would've reacted to Warner-Amex selling Nickelodeon to Viacom if the internet existed in 1985.
I'm revisiting all of They Might Be Giants' albums to prepare for tomorrow's new album and I forgot how much I remembered. I haven't heard Factory Showroom in maybe a year, and I just found myself singing along without even a glance at the lyrics!
Today marks five years since we lost Qubo. Qubo's last month was a big moment in my life. I discovered the channel on January 29, 2021, and pretty much instantly fell in love. I got to experience almost every little moment of the channel, and when it shut down I was genuinely heartbroken. That month, February 2021, was one of the best times of my life. R.I.P. Qubo, I'll always remember the blast we had that month. <3
Happy Valentino, everybody! <3 I've started watching all of Rocket Monkeys today. Why? I don't know. (I'm gonna be using this post as sort of a diary for my watch-thru of this show)

(Also, fun fact! This special was lost for a long time after it aired on Teletoon in 2015. It was just found in January on some obscure streaming service. Thanks, lost media guys!)

Well, I've done it. I've watched Rocket Monkeys through to the end. Sorry about the lack of updates this month, I sorta forgot about this thread. I actually... liked it. Dare I say, I loved it. I never thought this show would make me laugh as loud as a freight train from a gaping hole in someone's head, but they've done it. My favorites were I'm Yay-OK.., Rock On, and especially Brobot Knows Best.

So, in the past few days that I've been away from here, I've had quite a few things happen. I got to see the newest SpongeBob movie in theaters on Saturday, and I really liked it! Modern SpongeBob's great when you don't have someone in your ear telling you it sucks. (continued in replies)

In 2025, I did a project where I had to draw a cover for one individual song (of course, they're all They Might Be Giants!) every week for a whole year. I've gotten quite a bit of burnout in the latter end, but I'm super close to being finished with number 52, the very last one!
I just started watching Fox's Animal Control with my family and... wow, it's strange. It's like it's having an identity crisis on live TV, one moment it's a sitcom, then the next moment it's a romcom. It's not even funny enough to warrant this! The episodes also feel really short, somehow.

Now, every time I watch something I don't like, I think about how it could be done better. For this, we ended up talking about an alternate scenario where the protagonist gets attacked by a jaguar in the first episode (at the same time, his partner tries to repel the jaguar with a big pole, but just ends up hitting the other guy instead), and he spends the rest of season 1 just healing. Now that, that's good TV!
It's finally 2026 in the Eastern Time Zone! Every year, I keep track of what the first and last songs of the year are. This year, I listened to They Might Be Giants' 2004 album The Spine. The last song of 2025 was (fittingly) The World Before Later On, and the first song of 2026 was Museum of Idiots (maybe also fitting, considering the government of where I live).

Going offline until further notice. David Ellison has won. I’m seeking therapy permanently rather than quitting life. Take care everyone. Once I leave the world into the void, I hope my life is better.
Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
