Lin Manuel Miranda took part in an interview on ABC, and showed a clip from the upcoming episode.

I appreciate that they took the time to animate new material of Webby reacting to the show.

Beware The Buddy System

So Darkwing Duck was a live action TV show in this universe. Well hopefully we get to meet his actor in the future, maybe do an episode when they go to a Con.

So the Scrooge head statute got a job with Gyro, it did appear in the IDW comics, I wonder if this takes place after that. I am liking this version of Fenton, nothing against the old version, just saying I like this version.

It seems Scrooge and Beaks can get along when it comes to business, and leave it to lazy Beaks to just ripoff one of Gyro's evil robots and not modify it.

Launchpad vs a machine, I believe something similar to that in the 87 show, maybe not a machine. But I remember when it had to prove himself against others.

So Gizmoduck debuts this episode, and they did flip flop of who knows his identity. On the old show Scrooge was the only one who knew his identity, in this episode, every character for Becks knows his identity except for Scrooge. Interesting take here.

Well looks like Gizmoduck has an arch enemy in Mark Becks.

Next month's new episodes are Saturday mornings at 9:30 starting on June 16.

I saw it on DisneyNow. I don't want to spoiled everything yet, but I'm here to tell you that it was an awesome episode. Tune in at 8pm tonight to find out why.;)

Update: To prevent to be spoiled before 8pm, avoid going Twitter and Youtube.

Really liking the fact they don't have to use every single main character in every episode.
That's consistent with the old show and the comics which didn't use every character in every story either.

DuckTales "Beware The B.U.D.D.Y. System!"

Great intro to Gizmoduck.

I'm not sure what to make of the Darkwing Duck stuff at the beginning. It was great to hear Jim Cummings as Darkwing and Michael Bell as Quackerjack again, and Keith Ferguson does a great Megavolt. But I'm not sure how much I like the idea that it's a fictional TV show in the DuckTalesverse. It will make a spin-off a lot harder and less likely. Still, I like that Launchpad is the one who is the fan. Makes sense as he was DW's biggest fan on the original show too.

Fenton being Gizmoduck seems to be more of an open secret than an actual secret identity. That also makes sense to me.

I love Scrooge congratulating Launchpad at the end, and Launchpad giving him a hug in gratitude. I "Awwed" at that.

Good episode. ****1/2.

Live-action or not, Darkwing Duck is a TV show in this series. That's something to take into consideration (perhaps it's at least similar to the series everyone in our universe got in 1991?). Let me just say that they better not tell us next that the original 1987 DuckTales is also a TV show in this series (as admittedly unlikely as that sounds). Long story short, people came to watch DuckTales, not a parody.

I'm so glad they include characters from Darkwing Duck. Hope to see the Talespin characters very soon. Anyway, I love it when Fenton/Gizmoduck says Woo-oo. I love Launchpad. He's so funny and lovable as ever.

On the June premieres, is that on the Disney Channel? or Disney XD?

As for "Darkwing Duck" being a tv show in this universe, it doesn't seem right to me. And of all characters to be aware of this, is Launchpad, who was a character in said show. It just seems off with its internal logic.

Does anybody else feel this way?

I think the logic here is that the Darkwing Duck show in the DuckTales2017verse isn't the same version as the Darkwing show from Our Universe. For one thing, it's supposedly live action, and has an actual actor playing the lead. And if it's not our version, that means Launchpad is not a part of the show. What I especially like is that the fans kind of have to come up with their own theories and ideas about how this would work, and fit into everything else, without the show spoon-feeding us the definitive answers immediately.

Now I expect the actor who plays Darkwing will show up at some point, and we'll get a meta-ish episode with a ton of in-jokes. But until that happens, I respect the show for letting me figure things out for myself. It is a rare kids show I watch that treats me like an adult.
