The Official “Ask Jay Stephens” Thread!

Again, even when Zak doesn't have Kur and use the claw to power up doesn't mean it's useless now. We already saw how Zak uses the claw mostly as a weapon so yeah the Claw is still a valuable addition to Zak when he fights a villain.

I know that. I was just wondering if Zak would find a new use for it to replace the Kur Power use.

Honestly, I figure he'll give up the "claw" part of it for a grappling hook or something, that is, assuming he'll even use it anymore.

I mean, if it doesn't do *him* any good anymore, why keep it from the fuzzy giant humanoid cat that *can* get some use out of it? Just pride and trophies?

I might be completely off on that idea though.

Tsul 'Kalu gave his hand to Zak because he deserves it, even if Zak's not Kur Anymore Tsul still let him keep the claw.

Don't see why you guys are making such a fuzz about it, if it's because Zak's not Kur anymore get over it! Zak doesn't need Kur to be a hero, if you want someone that uses powers watch Ben 10.

I have dealt with the fact that Zak isn't Kur anymore! In case you haven't noticed, all I've been asking about is if Zak will find a new use for it's mystical properties now that he doesn't need it to focus his Kur powers. After all, from what Tsul showed, there are other energies than can be focused through it. Believe me, while I'm still not that happy with it, I've accepted it, just like all the Argost fans have to accept the fact that the greatest cartoon villain we've ever seen is gone forever.

This might actually make a good plot point. How will Zak adjust without his powers?

Jay, would this plot point possibly work its way into the new season? assuming, of course, that CN renews

well many villians have survived the whole " impossible to escape" kind of death so we can't count argost out yet

Zak will miss his powers but at the same time he will adjust fine since he had adventures with his family before the whole Kur power. Also some cryptids might have a special connection to Zak, Jay mention that if CN renew the show it will be awesome.

Jay confirm that Argost's indeed dead, so don't expect him to return anytime.

I've come up with another question, though I'm not sure if it's been asked. In the episode "The Atlas Pin", Drew mentions that Kumari Kandam worked with the Atlantean scientists to make the Atlas Pin and drive it into the earth's crust. If given the chance, will you explore anything about Atlantis in the show?

Hey Jay, is there any mythology secret scientist? And if so, will we see them in the possible season 3?

Adding to the first question, will any mythology be explored in the possible season 3? I mean, I would love to see an episode about the legendary phoenix or something like that.

Is Beeman still a secret scientist? I mean, he almost killed Zak, so I would think he may be kicked out or something.

Are any of the secret scientists married? I mean, I thought Miranda and Author were like a "couple", but after that ,"I'll let my feelings know they should be hurt" quote from Beeman, I don't really think that anymore.

Mr. Jay, hope I'm not too late to catch you for a couple questions:

1. I read you have children of your own, has having a family influenced your creation of the Saturday family?

2. WHY didn't Doc jump to save Drew, instead of Van Rook? He IS her husband....

3. How did you decide what age to place Zak at? You put a lot of pressure on a barely 13 year old kid.. :P

In retrospect though, 12 and 13 year olds are not so young any more. I think perhaps viewers of that age could relate to pressures being put on them at that age, as Zak exemplifies what its like to be given a lot of choices to turn against family and friends, and make decisions that will affect his entire life.

The idea of a family and especially a young kid having secrets is something perhaps a huge target audience appeals to in today's world.

2. WHY didn't Doc jump to save Drew, instead of Van Rook? He IS her husband....

I think Doc couldn't go that far to save Drew, needed a jet pack like Van Rook and Doyle but i think it was Van Rook's moment to show that he still care about Drew.

Yes, I get that it was Van Rook's moment to shine, but shouldn't Doc at least have jumped or something?

Maybe he was thinking about Zak. I mean, if the shot somehow killed both Doc and Drew, than Zak would be an orphan. :(

Is zak still affect by kur?For example he carry a full size man.Does he still have some abilities?

Jay confirmed that Kur's destroyed and Zak no longer has powers. Do you mean Shoji Fuzen? The Kur powers doesn't have anything to do with it, Zak pick him up and show a bit of a struggle carrying someone twice his size, also TSS had lifted heavier stuff so there's no surprise there.

what I mean is do you think there could be bit of side affect on zak even when kur was gone on him.

This is not a side affect but with all the cryptids that Zak encounter when he was Kur will recognize him(maybe) side affects unlikely, he will probably gonna miss them tho.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed a side effect (no offense, but "effect" is the correct use, by the way) like a different ability because, well, Zak has been bonded to Kur for about 13 years. What have you to say about that, Mr. Stevens?

Nah, i really don't see that happening because they finish with the Kur arc in season 2, So we are off to the next story arc.....if CN renew TSS.

I didn't say the next arc (if there's going to be one) would be about Kur (he is dead after all). I was simply wondering if there's a possibility that all the time being bonded to Kur may have affected Zak permanently in any way (besides the obvious =P). The arc doesn't necessarily have to focus on it. But even if there is none, I feel confident in Mr. Stevens' ability to keep the creativity flowing. ;)

EDIT: Argggh! I accidentally wrote "slowing" instead of "flowing"! Yeesh, this is one of those typos where the word ends up having the opposite meaning. x.x" Anyway, it's fixed.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
