The Official “Ask Jay Stephens” Thread!

If TSS was confirmed for a third season before you wrote the second season would you have made Zak turn evil?

I was re-watching 'Black Monday' and thought up a question. I know you're probably tired of hearing questions about the Mondays, so sorry for beating a dead horse. ^^;

What did Zak and Komodo Monday do between 'Black Monday' and 'Paris is Melting'?

Did you guys plan on introducing Tsul 'Kalu from the beginning?
The claw was called "The hand of Tsul 'Kalu" in the first episode...

Since Kur and Anti-Kur were so close together in Argost's body, did Kur seize to exist (i.e. die?) or is it still out there in a new host?

on a side note, i thought an imploding Argost was hilarious for some reason :p

looks like the public will never know what really happened...

I think they did. Remember that Tsul 'Kalu was the one who blinded Doc's eye so Jay and his team already consider introducing Tsul in the show soon, just like they had plans for Argost's true identity from the beginning.

hey jay! this isnt a really important question but i have been obsessing over this ever since season 2 ended...

when zak woke up from being dead for 3 minutes why didnt the Saturday family react to it at all? the only one showing any emotion was fisk after a few minutes of zak being awake. i would of expected everyone hugging him and crying tears of joy.

I think they had alot of emotions in this episode, they where glad that Zak's alive but where afraid at the same time since he stayed dead for 3 minutes, the family thought he was a goner. The hugging and crying for tears would've ruin it a bit that scene so just having Fisk hugging him was enough.

"The adventures of the all mighty Kur Zak with his sidekicks Doc, Drew and Fiskerton where you see him using his awesome kur powers to kick bad guys butt".

ok. Lol. Great fake title. I cracked up reading this. :D

On another note...

So Jay, if another network besides CN (like Nick or Disney XD or something like that) wanted to show the secret saturdays and order a new season, then would you be willing to let the Saturdays switch networks? Or are you staying loyal to CN?

Is there a new secret saturdays episode called kur lives again?

lol since some people don't get over of Zak losing his powers, they believe that was the main focus of the show but they forget that it's all about a family searching for cryptids.

I doubt that since CN owns the rights for TSS they can't change to another network, if that would've happen then Megas XLR had gone over to Nick or another network along time ago. Besides, Disney and Nick would made lots of editing to TSS, especially the final episodes.

No, Jay confirm that Kur's destroyed. where did you heard that? If it was from someone that's not Jay or any other person who worked on the show, that person's pulling your leg.

King_of_doom is right about the only trusting Jay Stephens thing, but did you get this info. from Secret Saturdays Wiki? Cuz I went on there and it said "Kur lives" or something like that, was the next episode. If you did get it from there, than I advise you not to trust that website too much. For one, they still think that Zak might have his Kur powers, which Jay confirmed were gone. Secondly, once I went on that sight and looked up Zak Monday. They said he was a Nazi and was a fan of Moral Oral... sure they fixed it by the end of the day, but still.

You should be proud Jay! You and the rest of the team who worked on the show, the animators, writers and of course the actors who did an amazing job bringing these characters to life.

I second this statement!

I'm seriously sucky with thinking up questions to ask that haven't already been asked. Oooh, I know. The music at the end of War of the Cryptids, it sounds kind of Transformers-ish(Like from the movies). Was that intended, or was there any inspriration for the background music throughout the series?

1. No, 3. Yes, Zak's 'soul' was combined with Kur's, but isn't any longer. 4. Hard to control 5. Looks that way 6. It's called the Xing-Xing 7. Among other emergency techniques and a little magic, yes. I wish we'd had more time/ more episodes to show some of this stuff.

1. I guess this means that we will be seeing Zak do without them in (possible) future episodes. *tries to banish the thought of Zak getting them back out of her head*

3. Thought as much. <P

4. Ditto.

6. Odd, that sounds like what gorillas are called in Chinese.:p

7. I wish that too; it would have made this already epic episode more epic.

Another question: is that big bird that Argost rode at the beginning of the episode the Thunderbird? I guessed that because it looked like a giant California condor with a set of bat wings on its neck.

You mean at the end of the episode, right? Had the same feeling on that too.

If TSS is renewed for another season, could Beeman become a bad guy?

I got a question Jay. Seems like Miranda and Cheechoo have change sides with the Saturdays, what does this mean for the Secret Scientists? Are they still in the group, did they banned Beeman or they banned themselves out and Beeman's in charge of the Secret Scientists?

I have a question When is Cartoon network going to put or get the money for more Anime shows?

Why would the created of The Secret Saturdays know that? This is a Secret Saturdays and Tutenstein thread. Not an anime one. Not trying to be mean, but I think you're on the wrong thread.

Ok...........that type of question doesn't involve Jay's work on TSS or Tutenstein at all, if you want to ask that question go e-mail CN.

What I'm curious about is what Zak will be using his Claw for now that his Kur powers are gone. I mean, from what we saw from Tsul Kalu, Kur power isn't the only thing that can be channeled through it.

Again, even when Zak doesn't have Kur and use the claw to power up doesn't mean it's useless now. We already saw how Zak uses the claw mostly as a weapon so yeah the Claw is still a valuable addition to Zak when he fights a villain.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
