Heh, I figured something was up when Nami kept worrying about the shopping bags Sanji was holding and not Sanji himself. Many times over. Now, if Sanji was holding two money bags / two suitcases full of money / a treasure chest, I'd understand...

As for the rest of the episode... taxes, taxes, taxes. Man, do we all hate taxes. Especially inane ones that make no sense at all (i.e. extra taxes pinned on food consumption). Who runs this kingdom, anyway?

(Then again, you can probably say that about every place the Straw Hats go to. )

And Robin still doesn't interest me as a character in the least.

And, more importantly, how long has it taken me to realize Nami doesn't have a freakin' waist? I mean, come on now! I can't believe I'm saying this, but all that food she eats is going to the wrong place.

I thought this episode would be more bleh then it ended up being actually. I mean yeah the scenese with the naval pirate hunters in the opening (missed shot and all) were kind of drab, and the bits with the overtaxing mayor and the shocked citizens were pretty cliche, and the Sanji battle wasn't really all too hot (is it me or did Nami just act pretty b****y to Sanji and chopper here? Is that just 4Kids doing or is that the anime making her more concerned about her bags then her friends then she should be) and it is part of a filler arc that the sooner we get done with the sooner we get FUNI Piece, but it was sort of enjoyable. Well I did like Luffy, Usopp and Robin hanging around the old man and the talk of the Rainbow Mist treasure. As well as the guy trying to steal they're boat and Luffy trying to stick Usopp with the bill. I mean it's little moments but it made the episode not as bad as I thought. Yeah there are much better OP eps but I guess if the saga manages this level of quality it will at least be watchable for a few more eps, which is all this one has right?

Maybe. The 4Kids dub is so much more interesting to do because there are a lot of goofy edits that don't make any sense, but if there's anything noteworthy that is edited in the FUNimation dub, then I'll do it.
