USA’s Mr. Robot is growing in popularity due to its heavily twist-filled narrative, Kubrick-esque cinematography and the fact that you truly don’t know what to expect next. The problem with describing Mr. Robot is that you can’t say much about it, or else you risk spoiling something. I’ll tell you this much: the main character is a complete nutbag and since you experience the show mainly from his perspective, you can’t trust anything you see when he’s around.

So the cast members of the series faced a challenge when they sat down to this panel, because there are no doubt more crazy events on the way. Rami Malek, who plays Elliot Alderson, admitted this much: keep a count of episodes this season, because the tenth one is a biggie plotwise. “We finally finished episode 10, and I’m so proud of it. It’s kind of [show creator] Sam [Esmail]’s baby—I can tell when he’s really excited about an episode, because I usually get more takes.” He added, “I think we put more money into it, as well. Ten will be a longer episode, and it feels like it can exist in a movie theater as a film.”

What about this new character, an FBI agent who — as of the latest aired episode — got closer to the truth than anybody outside of Elliot’s little clique has? Grace Gummer, who plays Dominique DiPierro, told the audience they don’t know everything about her character yet.

“You’ll see a lot of Dom at home, and who she is at home versus at work. Sort of like every other character on the show, you think you know who this person is, but you really don’t. She’s sort of a bright light in a dark world,” Gummer says. “[Sam] didn’t really tell me a lot [about Dom] before I signed a contract. But we were all at the first table read that we did, for about 10 hours, reading every single script. And we were all like, ‘Oh my god,’ so we all sort of found out at the same time [what happens].”

Mr. Robot is currently airing its second season Wednesday nights at 10 on USA. If you haven’t started watching yet, the only legal way to watch Season 1 is on Amazon Prime Video (yeah, I know). Amazon is currently offering everybody a free 30-day trial period for Prime, so I would say go for it just to see Mr. Robot before the backlog becomes too great.
